Located in the heart of multiple hiking trails Outside the tourist season, the city is a little isolated; for the most part, there is only trekking for activity Very dark and cold apartment to work in; the wifi crashes at times; not optimal for remote working, even if equipped with a second screen, which is a plus Some rules a little strict, day and times to do laundry which is a bit of a shame given that the laundry does not dry in the apartment (because it is too humid)

Juan's place is a great base to visit the sites of roque nublo, pico las nieves roque benteyga,with a grandiose view of the mountain ranges. We enjoyed it very much and it is with great pleasure that we will book this place again.

Artenara and its countryside are an exceptionally beautiful part of the island. The apartment is in this wonderful place, with an unparalleled panorama. It is also special that the building is one of the cave dwellings, of which there are plenty here. The accommodation has everything you need and you can also sit on the balcony to admire the mountains and the starry sky in the evening. The Artenara Living team provided us with extremely professional information, which covered various hiking trails and program recommendations. The apartment was spotless and clutter-free. You could feel at home in it. Don’t miss the Ethnographic Museum next door, it’s very interesting to see how people lived here, but the cave church a few hundred meters away is also special. The cave restaurant, which is in the small street next to the church, is also unique. Name: Restaurante Mirador de Cilla. Above it, you can see a huge statue of Jesus. I can only recommend this wonderful place to everyone.

The place is wonderfully and quietly located in the mountain village of Artenara. From the place or nearby, you can take many great hikes and the view from the place is simply fantastic. We had a great, relaxing time here and would recommend the place to anyone looking for peace and seclusion.

If this location is available stay here do not think twice about it, book it right now. Every night I was here, the pristine views were lit up by the most gorgeous sunsets I have ever seen. Easy location to other towns, walkable and peaceful. As for the host, Juan is the best host I have ever had. He shared a clear and concise guide of the area that became my blueprint for where to go each day. He was communicative, personable and friendly at all times and made my stay there completely stress free.

A great spot with stunning views. A very sleepy village in December but Tejeda a short drive away for dining and popular bakeries. Fun twisty mountain roads in all directions for exploring the mountains and surrounding villages. Great for those wanting to escape the crowds with a head for heights and narrow roads.

The home is in a spectacular area, Artenara. The views are indescribable and the place is fully equipped. Although the roads to get to the village are a bit complex, we had no trouble getting to and finding the apartment. The directions and instructions were also very clear. Our stay in Artenara was amazing! Juan is an extremely kind, helpful and responsive host. He reached out to us a lot and helped us with everything we needed. The little village Artenara is very sweet, in the middle of Gran Canaria's mountains - perfect for daytrips to the beach and great hikes. The roads are very twisty but we loved that. The apartment itself has everything one could need and is very clean and pretty. The views from the windows and balcony are breathtaking! We would definitely recommend this stay and would love to come back!

Apartment is in a beautiful location with an exceptional view. At the time I was there, there was work for the apartment. The owner had informed us in advance and the communication was fast and pleasant. Despite the work greatly enjoyed our stay and the owner's open communication is great. Apartment was clean and in the kitchen you will find everything you might need.

We slept in the apartment for 6 nights in February. The view is beautiful... you never get tired of it. The weather conditions at that time of year can be a little harsh in the mountains and the dehumidifier that is in the apartment is essential. The apartment is as advertised and is sufficient when you go for a stroll by the day. Hikes are possible from Artenana. Communication with the owner is easy and pleasant: small tips come to enhance the stay like Saturday's "dish of dads". The village is nice and was uncrowded during our stay . Special mention to the Arte-gaia restaurant which was our "canteen" almost every evening... It is also possible to cook without problem in the apartment... We would love to go back ...

Overall, we were very pleased with the apartment. Everything was neat, clean and the view is indescribable. However, it would have been nice if there were cleaning utensils so that you can clean the bathroom yourself for longer stays, for example. Also, we have found that the apartment is too small if one person wants to retreat to work while another person wants to keep moving freely. But that's very personal, of course.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Earth apartment. It’s fairly compact but well laid out and thoughtfully equipped. The views from the small terrace are to die for and it’s less than a 5 minute walk into beautiful Artenara, which has 3 convenience shops and several well-rated restaurants. I’ve never had so much detailed information from a host, they take their role seriously and think of everything to make your stay a happy one. Lots of fantastic and well-signed hill walking to be done up there and the driving, if you’re not feint-hearted, is amazing. I’m sure we’ll be back.

A 100% successful stay in this accommodation with an incredible view. The apartment is very well equipped: kitchen with everything you need and more (except an oven but you can easily do without it), super shower, choice of ergonomic pillows, terrace with garden furniture for meals or aperitif with breathtaking view. The village of Artenara is a little timeless, absolutely calm and in a natural environment conducive to very beautiful hikes and viewpoints, each more incredible than the last. We enjoyed it very much and will be back with pleasure. Juan was very available to best resolve the problems encountered with the internet connection because of his ISP. Very good contact and communication. Thank you for everything.

We stayed in the apartment in March of 2022, it was the perfect basecamp for stunning hikes in the area! And the view is amazing!! The appartement is partly embedded in the rock, and how convenient, right next to the museum on ancient cave houses. :) It was very neat and the kitchen was well supplied so cooking your own meals is easily possible. As it was still pretty cold during the nights, we used the electric heater and extra thick blankets that were available. As the town is very centrally located on the island, it is possible to dicover many locations by car, but take note: as its high up in the mountains, all roads are curvy and winding, thus driving takes a little more effort.

The view is amazing! Artenera village is charming and mountains around are just breathtaking. The Earth House is cozy place. Big just enough for two of us with a little baby. The host provided us with brand new cot for our baby when we had issue with the original one, thank you! Communication was seamless and instructions clear.

We had a wonderful time in Josefas little cave cottage in the mountains with a stunning view that blows you away! The cottage was very clean and has everything you need. Location-wise it was one of our favorite spots on the island. Starting from there you can do some hiking tours, explore the beautiful little villages in the mountains like tejeda or just enjoy the peaceful silence up there. Would definitely recommend!

This apartment in the location is so incredibly inspiring. I initially planned to stay for 4 weeks for work and hiking. At first I thought it would be a little lonely alone in the small town of Artenara. However, the charming Artenara has everything you need. The view from the terrace is magical. The scenery is breathtaking and incomparable. The Apartment is nice clean and Juan always answered immediately and was extremely accommodating. A great host! Optimal is also the combination of work and vacation. The internet is faster than in Germany and absolutely reliable. In addition, there is a good desk and a real office chair. It is so nice here that I have immediately extended for another month and will also spend my summer vacation here. I can recommend this location without reservation. Try it out! You will love it.

What a view! Ideally situated in the middle of Gran Canaria, close to hiking trails and zig-zag roads that will take you to remote villages. It was very nice to spend these few days in Artenara. I recommend this place to anyone visiting Gran Canaria and who has no interest in mass tourism at the beach...

Very nice and cozy apartment. responds exactly to the pictures. Good bed,bedding and towels,good bathroom and kitchen,nice living space. You can sit in front of the apartment or see the mountains from the kitchen or the bed and the valley. Simply wonderful! Great starry sky! Very quiet area, I hardly heard from the neighbors. Great starting point for hiking! Small sparSupermarket has good opening hours and good assortment. Nice bars/restaurants. During the day, there is a lot going on in the village! Many come because of the beautiful view and also for eating. But you won't get anything about where the house is located. Apartment very close to the bus (hardly uphill/downhill). To the comment of another visitor: yes,it is a bit damp but it doesn't stink and you can ventilate well. For a few days I thought that was okay and the bathroom door and kitchen door can be closed. I was afraid before arrival that it would be cold for me - but it wasn't like that. You have to keep in mind that you are at about 1200 m! Check in very easy and informative. Responses were always immediate.

Accommodation located in a village of character with magnificent views of the mountains. The apartment is clean and comfortable. It is located next to the Ethnological Museum on Coulodyte Habitats. It's a real crush on this property.

For communication, no problems. But the house, being built on the rock, is wet. So at night it gets a little cold. In the kitchen we missed a few spices or at least oil and salt.
