The space

UNIT 35 is a first floor (top floor) apartment with the most stunning sea views. It's prime position at the back of the Estate allows for privacy and peace, but close enough to the resort facilities and common areas when required.

The unit has a private entrance with it's own balcony and braai area. The perfect position of the apartment gives breathtaking sea views from the balcony, living room and kitchen.

The homely and welcoming living area invites a relaxed chill area in the lounge, and cozy dining area, leading onto a fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, washing machine and dishwasher.

There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, aircon and ceiling fan, and the second bedroom has two single beds and a ceiling fan.

Both bedrooms share a bathroom with shower, basin and toilet.

The resort has swimming pools, communal braai and entertainment areas, tennis court, squash court, putt putt, trampoline, giant chess board and playgrounds for the kiddies.

There is also a viewing deck with telescope for those exciting whale and dolphin sightings

Chaka's Rock Chalets is situated 400m from the beautiful Shaka's Rock Beach and Tidal Pools, and 500m from Ballito's popular Thompson's Beach and Tidal Pool.

The Estate is on Ocean Drive, between Salt Rock and Ballito, perfectly situated close to restaurants, takeaways and shops, and a quick 5 minute drive to central Ballito.

Guest access

The apartment has its own free uncapped Wifi and Smart TV with limited DSTV package and Netflix enabled.

Guests have full and free access to all facilities.

There is one undercover parking bay that goes with the unit.

Other things to note

Only a 5-minute walk to Chakas Cove beach and tidal pool, and a 7-minute walk from Thompsons Bay, this relaxed hillside resort is also only 3km from Ballito for all your shopping needs.

Our gorgeous warm weather in Ballito means that we can enjoy the beach all year round.

Salt Rock Tidal Pool:

Situated just a few 100m north of Salt Rock beach, this is a beautiful rock pool to explore and you can expect to find plenty of beautiful fish on your next snorkeling adventure.


Ballito Tidal Pool:

This tidal pool is right on our doorstep. It also has a shallow section, which makes it perfect for younger kids who are learning to snorkel or who are just building their confidence when it comes to swimming in the sea. It’s a great place to learn how to snorkel, and mom and dad can watch from the beaches around the pool.

Chaka’s Cove:

Next time you’re heading to Salt Cafe, why not take some time to explore the Chaka’s Cove tidal pool, just down the beach access alleyway. It’s not quite as large as Tinley Manor or Thompson’s Bay, but it really is a gorgeous pool. What’s more, despite its size you will still find an array of crustaceans and fish in the pool’s waters. It’s a great morning out for the whole family!

Thompson’s Bay Tidal Pool:

This is perhaps one of the biggest and most well-known tidal pools in the area. In addition to being full of sea life, this tidal pool is also home to one of the south-most coral colonies in Africa. It’s great for both swimming and snorkeling, and very popular amongst both locals and visitors.


We are so fortunate to have so many incredible tidal pools to explore, and so nearby! For those who want a change from braving the waves, or to enjoy a bit of snorkeling, we’d recommend visiting one of these spots.
