We had an unforgettable experience during our stay and look forward to returning next year. The island was beautiful, the many different houses accommodated our large group and each family of the 5 that went had their own space to unwind. The kitchen was beautiful and made meal prep and cooking so easy. The kida had lots to do with basketball, board games, mini pool tables, hot tub and the highlight was definitely the swimming. The water was great, warm and clear at any given time during the day and the kids had so much fun jumping off the docks, using the paddle boats and the canoes. We all had such a great time and are so thankful to Marla and Sherri-an employee who helped us when we checked in and checked out- Sherri was a great help, kind, friendly, hospitable and even recommended a different cottage with less steps for next year that I will definitely look into because it was a beautiful experience. Don't think twice about booking your stay here my family and I loved it!

Marla's place is fantastic. Our group of 13 had a fantastic stay and ended up being a wonderful trip. The house itself is great with a large living room meaning it never felt cramped. The hot tub, kayaks, paddleboards and basketball court all meant we had lots to do during our stay and made the whole experience extremenely enjoyable. Furthermore, Marla and her team were great hosts. They were extremely helpful and were extremely responsive to our questions. We had a such a great time! Thanks so much!!

We had a group of 12 stay at Marla’s Island Retreat and everyone had a fantastic time. The main cottage is gorgeous and the kitchen has everything you need. The guest cottage was the perfect spot for extra beds and the upstairs bedroom has the best view on the property. Finally, the tree house was the most charming little tucked away retreat and offered so much privacy. We had a great time swimming, using the hot tub, and playing lawn games and basketball in the back. Would definitely recommend to anyone and our group is planning on going back next year. This is an amazing place to stay. Scenery, water, privacy, it has it all. Marla is a great host, very responsive and we appreciated the fact that the kitchen had most of what you need for a big group. I was a bit nervous about the outside showers but they are incredible!!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage. Marla and Larry are such great people, so glad we got to meet them. The cottages has a beautiful view. It is fully stocked with kitchen appliance with clean plates and dishes and cups so really we didn’t have to bring any! The dishwasher was a life saver for our big family. There is so much to do - hot tub, numerous board games, ice cream maker, basketball ball court, ping pong table… and so much more! The 79 steps up was challenging but worth it! We definitely worked off all the food and drinks we had. Marla is a great host and was always just a phone call away. We definitely will be coming back and keeping in touch! Thank you again!

Marla and her team provided a fantastic retreat for our family to get together again after a couple of years without being able to travel, with great accommodation, and a wonderful hot tub with beautiful views. The dock was a great place for swimming, going on a fishing trip or just sitting and enjoying the views - we saw ospreys and bald eagles. We all enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it.

We had a great vacation at the island cottages. Everything was as described. Our kids loved playing basketball and ping-pong and enjoyed all water activities- kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. The kitchen was modern and had everything required for a great stay. We even made ice cream in the ice cream maker. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Our group of 15 had a fantastic time during our stay here! the private court was a huge hit. the only drawback is the hot tub took a very long time to heat up. Overall, would definitely recommend!

Our group of 12 stayed in Marla’s cottages for two nights. The view from the cottages is stunning especially during the sunset time. The rooms are very clean and the kitchen has everything you want. Highly recommend

We were 9 ladies and we loved everything about the wilderness and rustic experience. Overall great experience. We loved the property & the service we got was par excellence! Couple of things to consider. 1 shower might not be enough for a larger group. Anyone coming during any months other than July August prepare yourself for cold nights.

Incredible accomodation for a large group. Plenty of sleeping and entertainment options. Campfires, basketball court, games in the main house and some quiet places to just watch the view. The hot tub is a highlight, big dock to jump off and plenty of water toys. There are lots of stairs to get up to the house, but it’s worth it for the views alone. Marla was a great host and the local staff were very helpful with firewood and local knowledge. We look forward to spending more time there one day.

Very nice lake for swimming and diving off the dock, which was our priority for cottaging. The cottage itself is quite basic but totally adequate. I would go again except for the cost.

This was our second stay at Marla's stunning cottage and I am still under the charm. I wanted to share with more of my friends the exceptional beauty of this place. It is quite a special place that will delight everyone. Marla is a great host and has a rock star team on-site available all day if anything is needed. The South Frontenac area and Bob's lake are also quite fantastic and I look forward in coming back in the area again!

We had an incredible stay at Marla’s island compound. The basketball court was a huge hit with our group followed by a lake swim and a hot tub with a view. We loved having the pontoon boat available to do a bit of fishing. I would recommend this place to a group of friends or group of families. Will keep it on my list to return to.

Great cottage! A perfect quiet getaway from the city. The cottage had everything we needed and easily accommodated our large group. A very unique cottage with some amazing scenic views. The island is easy to get to from the marina (about a 5 min boat ride). Marla was a great host and very accommodating, checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed.

My sister and I gather our active families together once a year (13 of us - 9 adult children with spouse) and this is our first experience on Bob's Lake (and on an island). We could not have been more pleased with the whole overall experience. The island narrow and I would guess about a mile long, mostly Crown land with limited houses - plenty of privacy. The compound of houses is simple construction with a great open floor plan in the main house and plenty of space for everyone to have a bed (and privacy). The water is AMAZING. The property is situated at the tip of the island which forms a very private cove area. Great for swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking and sitting by the water and reading. The lake itself is very clear and a wonderful temperature (with surprisingly little traffic). We also enjoyed the basketball court, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Also, fun side note ... in our many years of being outdoors in this area we have never experienced fewer misquotes and black flies - even after a raining day (very refreshing). We hope to return next year (as long as there are no little additions to the family - not sure how the 75 seats up to the house would work with a baby or toddler).

The water is amazing. Kayaking on the lake was fantastic. The whole experience is amazing. It would be better if any of us had a boating license so we will have a little flexibility, instead we asked a lot of help from Marla. Meanwhile, the hosts are amazingly helpful and welcoming.

We had a great stay at Marla's property. The place is beautiful and well equipped with supplies and amenities. Being completely secluded from other properties was a big reason for why we decided to go with this rental, and it was an amazing experience. Would definitely stay here again!

We spent a long weekend at Marla's place and it was not nearly enough time! There was a large group of us (12 people) and plenty of room to enjoy every moment. Marla responded quickly and to all questions before our arrival and helped coordinate plans so we had a smooth trip to the island. She checked in on us during the weekend and made it easy to reach her. The property is beautiful and plenty of activities. The lake and surrounding areas are breath taking, wish I was still there!
