I booked Marla's Eagle cottage for a birthday / bachelor / fishing weekend for nine adults. The cottage itself was fantastic: right on the water; stunning views; great amenities; comfortable and homely. The location with the other cottages at this site is fantastic. It has a real 'homegrown' feel and I mean this in a very positive way. Everything has been done to make guests' stays more fun and comfortable, from the Tiki Bar and play areas to the boat rental and the provided water toys. Even the hand painted signage gives the place that extra bit of charm. We were very well looked after from the moment we arrived with Sherri and Holly coming straight over to rearrange a bedroom. We had a defective kettle replaced within minutes (thank you Marsha) and were even given some homemade ice cream mix for us to make our own delicious ice cream on the Saturday night (thank you Marla)! The cottage has everything you might need and we are likely to be heading back in the near future!

We had such an amazing 3 nights at The Eagle. The cottage was a great size for the 6 of us, the kitchen was very well equipped as well as the most Beautiful views of the lake! The water was amazing to swim in and lots of activities for the whole family to keep us entertained. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the bingo night was fun! Thanks so much for sharing this one of a kind spot with us! 🤗

We had a great stay at Bob’s Lake. Marla’s place had all the necessities we needed, even some things we forgot to bring ourselves. We were pleasantly surprised by how well the AC worked to keep the cottage cool during the extreme heat! We were able to rent a pontoon for sightseeing and fishing on the lake with the dock just steps away from the house. It would have been nice if the beach area was a shared area instead of being part of the other house so that all guests could enjoy it. The little children’s playground area and other outdoor equipment was a nice touch as well for additional entertainment.

Pleasant prompt greeting. Lots of amenities. Responsive staff. Very glad we rented a pontoon - the lake is truly lovely and the water was so pleasant to swim in. Super clean. Had a wonderful time, would definitely go again.

We came here as a couple families together and rented out The Eagle. It was an amazing experience! Everyone enjoyed their time and there was something for everyone to do from young to old. We all really appreciated the view which was breathtaking at all times! Hot tub was a great bonus when tired from the long day of kayaking, biking, and playing volleyball. Marla is a great host and her place is a must if you plan on staying at any of the lakes in Ontario!

Beautiful location, directly on the water. Cottage is part of a group of cottages with shared recreational space. Lots to do. Great for family or friend gatherings. The place is pretty isolated so bring all that you need. Volleyball, basketball, pickle ball, small zip line, lots of boats to use. Kitchen was well stocked. Host was very accommodating.

Marla & her Eagle’s Nest cottage were super and we highly recommend them! We came for a family Ontario nature & lake getaway and left restored. Marla is a thoughtful host who was flexible and supportive without being obtrusive. Our elderly mum was able to navigate the property with her walker or cane and enjoyed the sandy beach access with clear water to swim and canoe. The place was very clean, fresh, and beautifully appointed with all the important modern conveniences for the kitchen- including an ice cream maker! Ample parking. Some mosquitoes as expected at dusk (would it be summer in Ontario without them?!)- bring bug dope if you are sensitive. Clean hot tub with free star-gazing. Hope to come back.

Stayed at Eagle Nest for three nights on a men's fishing trip. Cottage was clean, up to date and well equipped. Great view with easy access to the lake. This includes a boat ramp. Enjoyed swimming across the lake and use of the hot tub. Sherrie attended to our needs. Be sure to bring everything you require as the nearest town is 30 minutes away.

Our stay was fantastic at the Eagle’s Nest. Very clean, lots to explore and endless beautiful landscapes. We loved it so much we decided to extend our stay! You can’t beat the hot tub, a boat ride, and swimming in the gorgeous lake. Marla is a wonderful host, and was so responsive and accommodating. Thank you for a beautiful trip!

We had the most wonderful vacation at Marla’s cottage. The location plus the view are absolutely stunning and Marla was a dream to deal with. I highly recommend this cottage. It was so clean and we will definitely look to stay here again in the future.

Our third visit to this cottage, and we keep coming back because it's such a great place to stay! Super quiet lake, amazing view from the front of the cottage, great swimming, lots of privacy, very friendly and responsive staff. Just an all around great vacation.

A great cottage. Our whole family had a very pleasant holiday. The view of the cottage is super nice, and the cottage is very clean. The living room is a large floor-to-ceiling window, you can enjoy the beautiful lake view, and the super nice sunset. The cottage is fully equipped and the kitchen provides all the necessary items. The beds in the room are ready for us. Our host Sherri and Marla are a very nice couple , they provided us all the detailed information of renting the pontoon.

I wish I could give a 10 star review... My family and I had an unforgettable weekend at Marla’s beautiful cottage at Bob’s Lake Cottages and Escapes. I have been to many cottages in Ontario and I must say this was by far one of the best ones I have stayed at! Marla is a great host. Our communication was super quick and easy and she was very accommodating to our requests. The property is absolutely beautiful with magnificent views of the lake— the pictures don’t do it justice!! Martha and Sherri were very lovely and went above and beyond to make sure we have a comfortable stay. Joe was also super helpful with the boat rental and answered all of our questions. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique waterfront cottage. We can’t wait to come back!

Marla was a great host! The check in was seamless and the house was outfitted with anything we could need - plates, cutlery, cups, and any other utensils you could imagine. Perfectly clean and modern finish. No stress. Would recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this lakefront cottage! Hosts were very responsive and friendly . The cottage is right on the water and pet friendly, which was perfect for us . The beds are comfortable and the hot tub is awesome ! Great views of the lake and cool retro fireplace . We loved it!

Had a great time at this cottage, the lake facing view will not disappoint. Our hosts were great at checking in with us and providing quick responses to any questions we had (even though most of the info was provided in the binder). It was comfortable, clean, and the location was great. No complaints!

The eagle cottage far surpassed our expectations. It was gorgeous, fully equipped with everything we needed, and very clean and spacious. The gas fireplace in the living room in front of the floor to ceiling windows over looking the lake was so spectacular. We hope to come back this summer! Also, my two year old loved the little kid's park and play structure on the property :):):)

This is one of our favourite places to visit! We returned this summer for a short stay after spending an excellent long weekend a few summers ago. The views from the cottage are spectacular, the lake is excellent for swimming and very calm for canoeing, etc. Good protocols put in place as a response to covid that balance keeping everyone safe with still offering great amenities. Also, staff are just the loveliest people. Can’t wait to return one day soon

Location is amazing for a summer get away with family or group of friends. Bedrooms are small but you won't really spend any time in the room anyways. Only thing that was odd for me was you have to bring your own cooking oil and grounded coffee... Also bring extra paper towels and toilet papers as there was only 1 roll of paper towel and 5 rolls of toilet paper.

We had a great experience at bobs cottages. We had the eagles nest cottage and we enjoyed it very much! We even had an issue with the fridge they brought us a brand new fridge. We rented a boat as well with great rates! I would recommend Marla to anyone looking for great cottages!

We had a family gathering at the cottage and it worked out perfectly for the 9 of us. Great kitchen, good bathrooms, great pontoon boat...very comfortable. Marla was right next door if needed but allowed us our privacy. The cottage and the boat were perfect for a very special family weekend. Thanks Marla, we will be back!

We spent a fantastic long weekend at this cottage over Labour Day, and both of us agreed - even though it was quite rainy and cool most of the weekend, it was one of the best weekends we'd had all summer. The cottage itself is picture-perfect. Bright, clean and very homey feeling. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The highlight is definitely the view of the lake from the living room - floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake. The indoor fireplace make it incredibly cozy on cooler nights. The front deck offers more spectacular views, and there's a firepit right off to the side, where you can enjoy a campfire at the same times as the beautiful views of the lake. With canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, water toys, floating docks, etc, available to you, you can really make the most of your time. The lake is generally quite calm, great for those just learning to kayak or canoe, and the swimming is excellent (even in the rain). Finally, Marla was such a warm, accommodating host - ensured we had everything we needed, and went over and above to ensure we had a wonderful time. Our only regret is that we only discovered this place at the end of the summer - we can't wait to return.

We were nine friends that stayed at The Eagle for a week and we loved it. The house is lovely and equipped with everything one might need and we made good use of the ice cream maker and had bbq for lunch and dinner every day. You can jump into the surprisingly warm water directly from the front of the house or head a few meters over to the dock. There are plenty of toys (paddle board, kayaks etc.) free to use, you can rent boats (we had a fishing boat and a pontoon for the weekends) and at night you can sit at the fire pit and make s'mores. We were sad to leave and want to come back. More and better photos can be found if you search for bobs lake cottages!

Marla was great! She and her husband were both very friendly and welcoming. We had a fairly large group and she was very accommodating to us all! She made sure we had everything we needed.The area is great, the view was great and the water was clean and perfect to swim in! We would love to stay with Marla and her husband again in the future!
