Everyone were complimenting and praising this cottage. From all the nearby amenities and easy access to the lake with paddles, kayak/canoes, volleyball nets, and fun trials to walk through. I can go on forever with regards to how amazing this spot is. I particularly like the fireplace and the amazing views of nature given it's facing the lake. We even like how there's island of which we canoe too and explored and plenty of activities to keep anyone busy. We didn't have enough time to do it all and might need to book a week to truly enjoy what this cottage has to offer. Marla is a gracious and kind host that quickly responded to our needs from opening the sunroom so we can conduct our Salsa Lessons. In addition, to providing us towels (which was mentioned that it wasn't provided well in advance) - so long as we had them washed. We were able to watch horrors movies, eat good food, and had very peaceful sleep and rest. Thank you once more and we look forward to coming back. Cheers

We had an amazing stay at this family-friendly cottage! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our kids enjoyed a wide range of activities, from the outdoor play area and zip line to indoor games and the beautiful water in front, keeping them entertained the entire time. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook, making us feel right at home. Overall, it's a fantastic place for families, and we can't wait to return! Highly recommend!

Overall, a great stay with a beautiful view and plenty of things to do. Sherri was extremely responsive while we were at the airbnb which was greatly appreciated. We were looking forward to the pickleball courts, however, they weren’t open during the time we were there. Other than that, it was a great stay and we would come back.

Amazing and responsive hosting. the location is great and peaceful, place is clean and had everything that we needed. we were 14 people and we didn't need anything extra. The beds were right how we needed them to be. it is highly recommended to visit it.

Marla’s place was perfect for us. It is a clean, spacious and welcoming house, with friendly and easy to reach staff. The large kitchen is amazing…every appliance you could possibly want, and often two of them! The bedrooms are comfortable and well thought out to accommodate a large or more intimate group depending on the bed layouts you choose. The living room and dining area provide generous space and seating. And five bathrooms. Wow! The lake and surrounding area are gorgeous. The deck and dock are spacious with lots of seating, and the beach is sandy and private. There is no shortage of things to do… kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, badminton, ping pong to mention a few, and beautiful country roads to walk, run, cycle or drive along. It was a 25 minute drive into Westport where we thoroughly enjoyed music at the Cove Inn, the winery, the brewery and of course the shopping. There’s something for everyone here. I heartily recommend Marla’s place!

We stayed at the great house. The property was absolutely amazing. Marla was great with the check in process and answering all our questions. Kids had lot of fun at the playground. Overall wonderful experience and highly recommend it.

We had a fantastic Christmas family gathering at Marla's cottage. The house was very spacious and clean. The extra large kitchen with two fridges, two dishwashers and extra large stove top really came in handy. The location was beautiful and not a day went by when we didn't see many deer hanging out close by. We would certainly consider staying at Bob's cottages again for future family gatherings.

We held a writing retreat here, and the beauty and peacefulness of the place —and the extraordinary staff—made our work feel like a dream. Super generative, nourishing, and creatively calm. Cannot wait to schedule another workshop there. . Recommend without reservation. Only hesitation in posting our love for they place is we hope it doesn’t get too popular so it will still be available for us for the next time we want to reserve it for the next chapter of our work.

We cerebrated my mother in law's 70th birthday here in June 2022, with 15 people and kids ranging from 0-10 years old. Marla's cottage (although cottage maybe isn't quite the right word given the size of the home and comforts therein) was perfect for this. Highlights included the extra-size kitchen with no fewer than 3 ovens, 3 fridges, and 3 dishwashers in the home (perfect when cooking for 15 people meal after meal!), along with corresponding amount of flatware and cutlery; great bathroom-to-guest ratio, lovely lakeside deck and dock, and selection of self-proprelled watercraft from stand-up paddleboard to kayak to canoe. Sherri, Martha, and the team took great care of our group. 5 stars!

We had a really great time here. Great kitchens, tons of bathrooms, and Marla and her staff were very accommodating. There was a big storm during our stay that knocked out the power, but the built-in generator meant we could still use the fridges and some electricity.

Beautiful location. Outside area, facilities and deck were great. Cottage was ok, kitchen was very well-equipped but expected more for the living room and washroom facilities (expected more value for the high price). 9am checkout isn’t reasonable, we asked for an extension and didn’t get one at first but got one later on (on the day of). Some things came at extra cost but we didn’t end up paying extra for anything and used all the water facilities and etc.

Our stay at the cottage was lovely! the place was tidy and clean, there were lots of fun activities to do with family. The view was wonderful and the water looked crystal clear! Joe took us boating and was very generous! As for payment, he asked for our Thai food! Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and are looking to come back! Thank you Martha, Joe and Maria

We really enjoyed our week at the Great House! Loads of room and spent most of our trip on the beach and on the screened in porch. Bob's Lake is gorgeous and the kids spent their days in the water - great for children. Kitchen fabulous and has everything you need. Fishing was exciting and lake perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. Cottages a little close together and be ready for next door's friendly dogs to greet you during the day - not a cottage for those afraid of dogs. Marla quick to respond to all inquiries! Will hopefully be back :)

Marla and her team were fabulous hosts. The home was beautiful and complete with lots of extra special touches that made our stay even more memorable, including a personal patio hot tub, an ice cream machine, and all the kitchen gadgets you can think of. Highly recommended for a peaceful break with friends or family. This is a truly beautiful home in a remote lakeside setting.

The location is worth everything! Absolutely gorgeous. Great house with an amazing kitchen. The hot tub on the lake and the fact that my dogs could come made it an absolutely perfect weekend! We had a couple of small things happen when we arrived but it was all cared for so quickly by Sherri, the caretaker that we barely noticed. She and her partner were gracious and wonderful with communicating. I'm very happy with the whole experience and will definitely go back.

Everything was so amazing! We are already counting the days until we return! The great house is exactly that great! It has everything you could possibly need, even an ice cream maker which we used every night. Martha and Sheri were the sweetest hosts and made sure we had everything we needed including eggs which we had forgotten at the grocery store! No better to way to ring in the new year then in your own private hot tub with champagne & fireworks. Thanks for everything ladies!

Marla's Great House is the best place for a family reunion like we had (large group) or a small wedding. We had such a wonderful time. The house is spotless, the beds are very comfy. The location is perfect if you’re looking for a spot between Toronto and Montreal. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful before and during our stay. Thank you Marla and Sherri!

Bobs lake cottage is simply amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. The cottage is big enough to accommodate a large group; there are many bedrooms/beds/washrooms and space. This means everyone can be comfortable together and you can equally find individual peaceful moments. It is beautiful + peaceful & Marla is amazing! Extremely helpful and responsive 😊

Marla is a wonderful host, who went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. It is a beautiful place and ideal for large gatherings. We stayed at the Great House, a beautiful place with all the comforts one would need. The view is amazing and very serene. We also had the opportunity to see the cottage on the island, which is a beautiful rustic place and we want to go back there. We will definitely recommend this place.

We had a most wonderful stay at The Great House for a very special family re-union to celebrate my parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary with a group of 12 people. The house was amazing especially the extremely spacious open plan living room, dining room and the kitchen. It make the celebration extra special. The grandchildren loved swimming in the lake which is quite warm and had great fun trying canoeing and kayaking. We even rented a very nice motor boat and had great fun trying kneeboarding. The motor board is also very good for fishing. We caught quite a lot of big fishes. Even my parents managed to catch quite a lot of fishes from the deck outside the house. They had great fun too. After the excitement of the day, we were able to enjoy the hot tub and the camp fires. There are so many fun things to do on the wonderful site and we feel that we have ran out of time to enjoy everything. Overall, it was great fun for everyone. It made the family re-union very special. Marla is a great host. She is so friendly and very quick to respond to my questions. She also provided an extra boat trip for my parents. Even our dog made friend with Marla's dog :-). The holiday has exceeded our expectations.

Marla's cottage was an absolutely wonderful place. It had amenities we didn't even think we would use, but ended up loving (like the hot tub). The lake, for some reason, is very warm. I'm an avid outdoorsman, and this was the warmest lake I've swam in in Canada (of similar size). It was never difficult even for a moment to get in/used to it, so we swam in the lake a lot. Marla was a great host. She offered a party raft for our party, and this was a really great thing, since we used it to just float on the water in peace (or played king of the hill, which was super fun!). The amenities were great, as I said before. Ping pong table was excellent (I play a lot of ping pong, so I could tell it was great quality). The rackets/balls could have been of better quality, so bring your own if you're serious players. Board games galore, if you get unlucky and get rained out. There were two of everything (ovens, dishwashers, etc) so we never felt stressed when needing things. Marla herself is very friendly and helpful, and is sure to help you with anything you may need if you need it. 10/10 would recommend this property again. Yes it's not as close to Toronto (if you're coming from there) as the cottages in Peterborough or Muskoka, but I believe a cottage with similar amenities/qualities in those areas would be twice as expensive. It really felt like we were in one of those high end homes that get shown on reality tv shows. And what's an extra hour drive for an amazing lake, hot tub (with a view of the lake!), dock, canoes, kayaks, motor boats (for rent, at reasonable prices)? Definitely worth it. You also save on traffic since most Torontonians go north for weekends, not east (past peterborough anyway). I just make two notes: while wifi was great and we didn't have issues, cell service is very hard to come by. Be prepared for this and tell people you'll be reachable only through internet messaging/email. It was actually nice because it let me at least somewhat get away from my phone :) Also, the mattresses could have been more comfortable. If you have someone with you with back issues, it might be best to bring along a blow up mattress they know their back is okay sleeping on. We all (old university friends) had a wonderful reunion at this cottage. Highly recommend it!

Very spacious and comfortable beds!The lake in the back is a great plus for our trip. Ice skating and ice fishing kept us occupied. The kitchen is FULLY equipped even with 2 fridges. Sherri was very helpful. She passed by everyday to clean the hot tub, which reliviated us from going through the hassles of reading cleaning instructions, measuring and adding chrorine into the hot tub. Greatly recommended!

We are 14 professionals who held a work retreat at Marla’s cottage. We had a fantastic stay! The cottage was beautiful. There was plenty of space for everyone. It was certainly nice to have so many bathrooms. The screened-in porch was great for group meals. We loved playing in the water on the various recreational water toys. Would definitely recommend!

We were ten for the night and had a great time. Check-in was easy and friendly. The place had everything we wanted and more. Exactly as advertised. Great kitchen! Great hot tub! Highly recommended for a weekend getaway. Would be amazing for a longer summer stay, too.

Great place for large family, lots of room, peaceful winter experience we all needed! Terrific appliances and loaded kitchen with everything needed for excellent meal making. Decent wifi, excellent bedrooms and bathrooms. Muskoka room too cold to use, would be great in the summer. Hot tub a nice bonus! Ice fishing at your own risk, and we loved it. A foot thick in early January, though really cold this year. Make sure you have snow tires on your vehicles. Friendly local hosts, really helpful.

We spent a 3 nights at Marla's place for a bachelorette (13 people). It was perfect! The service was incredible. Marla and her team helped us when we needed information. The place is beautiful and there is a lot of space and great furniture available. The lake is also gorgeous and kayak, canoe and paddle board were available. We would definitely go back and recommend staying there!

It's hard to say whether the home was more amazing or the host was. Marla was incredible the entire time we were there and made sure we were taken care of in every single way possible. The property was more of a beautiful lake home than it was a cottage, but the layout made it simple to have our big group of 15 stay very comfortably. The grounds were in immaculate condition, like the rest of the house and the lake is absolutely perfect. We brought our boat even though Marla offers a wide selection of boats to rent and spent a lot of time on the water which made our weekend one we wont forget. There is not one thing that was lacking from this place and we will be back for sure as soon and as often as we can.

Great and very responsive host. She made sure everything was fine at all time. We had one small issue and it was resolved in less than an hour. The house itself is great and there was plenty of place for the 15 of us. We will definitely be back in the summer.

The Great House was absolutely perfect. Even in the winter, the cottage was beautiful. When you stepped out to the frozen lake you couldnt hear a sound - it was so serene and peacefu. Every appliance we needed was there, the beds were comfortable, and the place was beautifully designed overall. Marla also responded to all my questions within minutes and was extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. We truly had an unforgettable weekend and plan to return in the summer!

We had amazing time in Marla's house. There were 11 of us. House has a private beach and beautiful rustic garden. The house is very spacious, full of light, very comfortable and cozy. All appliances and kitchen furniture and hardware are brand new. Communication, check in and checkout were smooth. We are planning to be back.

OUR WHOLE FAMILY LOVED IT!! And this was the winter-- we cannot even imagine how gorgeous it would be in the summer! We had three generations staying in The Great House and we all loved it. My mother was wheelchair bound, so the handicap bedroom and bathroom made it possible for the whole family to stay together. I love to cook, so the huge kitchen made it a pleasure to cook for 15. And having a piano there was so special, as was having 5 bathrooms! We are hoping to come back for a family reunion since Marla told us we could rent all 5 houses and have the whole compound to ourselves.
