Tucked away in a beautiful corner of the Champagne Valley, Haus Mikaya offers a peaceful escape surrounded by the majestic Cathkin and Sterkhorn peaks in the heart of the Drakensberg. Located on a private eco-estate, it’s the ideal spot to relax, unwind, and connect with nature – all while enjoying the comforts of a beautifully equipped home.

The space

At Haus Mikaya, we’ve created a sanctuary where you can feel at home, surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Drakensberg. The house comfortably accommodates up to seven guests with:

- Bedroom 1: Two single beds OR a King-sized bed
- Bedroom 2: A queen-sized bed
- Bedroom 3: A double bed
- Bedroom 4: A single bed

There are two full bathrooms (one en suite), both with a bath and shower, and a guest toilet for extra convenience. Fresh, crisp percale cotton linen ensures a comfortable night’s sleep, and you’ll enjoy the luxury of pure, fresh drinking water filtered through a five-stage purification system.

Step outside onto the spacious veranda and take in the breathtaking views of the Drakensberg mountains. You can enjoy a traditional wood or charcoal braai, perfect for those long evenings as the sun sets over the mountains. With no other homes in sight, the location offers complete privacy and peace. It’s a special place to unwind and truly disconnect.

Guest access

The estate features rolling grassland, streams, two dams (catch and release) and approximately 10km of hiking and mountain bike trails, as well as over 5km of tarred estate road surface ideal for road running. There are no houses to be seen from the veranda of Haus Mikaya that has a built in wood/charcoal braai from which the sunsets over the mountains are especially breathtaking. Blesbuck, Reedback, Eland, Duiker, Waterbuck, Zebra and the endangered Oribi antelope are some of the wildlife that roam the estate which also boasts a short 4x4 route, picnic spots and three waterfalls that can be visited via the hiking paths. Other things to note

Please read the property rules prior to making a booking to ensure this property suits your needs.

- Cleaning arrangements:
Cleaning is included every 3rd or 4th day for bookings with a minimum 4 night stay (during weekdays only excluding Public Holidays). Additional cleaning is R420 per day and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance (subject to availability). Sundays and Public Holidays are double the rate.

- Damage Protection
This property is protected by Just Be Lekker (JBL), the travel reputation platform. Guests are required to pay a R600 non-refundable damage waiver fee (R7,500 worth of accidental damage cover) OR have a R5,000 refundable security deposit hold placed on their card to gain access to the property. The guest will be sent a link by JBL to verify their booking.

Please note that should a guest choose the refundable security deposit, a R47 service fee will be charged by JBL. This fee covers the cost of verifying the booking and ensuring the property's protection. Just Be Lekker aims to provide a secure and reliable booking experience for all guests.

While the security deposit / damage waiver fee will be processed 1 day before check-in, we advise you to complete the JBL verification process as soon as possible to avoid any complications with your booking.
