The Fishing Cottage is a quaint spacious farm cottage overlooking a section of the 35 hecter dam. The cottage can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Equipped with a kitchen, dining room, and a braai area.
The Fishing Cottage is situated just across the road from the Buffalo Hills Private Reserve and guests who book the cottage will have full access to the reserve.

We offer three cosy chalets and a fisherman’s dream cottage overlooking a 47-hectare dam. Each unit is fully equipped for a comfortable self-catering stay, complete with a kitchen, dining area, and a private bathroom.
🔹 Fishing Cottage (Sleeps 8) – A lakeside sanctuary with three ensuite bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen, and an outdoor braai area for starlit evenings. Plus, fish for Large Mouth Bass, Barbel, and Carp right from your doorstep!
🔹 Carp Chalet (Sleeps 2) – A cosy retreat with a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom with a relaxing bath.
🔹 Barbel Chalet (Sleeps 3) – Perfect for small families or friends, featuring a double bed and a single bed, plus an ensuite bathroom with a shower.
🔹 The Rondavel (Sleeps 3) – A rustic, traditional bush getaway with a double-bottom bunk and a single-top bunk, plus an attached bathroom with a shower.

Yes, we welcome pets, but we kindly ask guests to inform us in advance. Please note:
The Farm House is partially fenced, and the Lodge is not fenced.
Due to the wildlife on the reserve, pets must be supervised at all times.
No pets are allowed on the beds.
This property is protected by Just Be Lekker (JBL), the travel reputation platform. Guests are required to pay a R800 non-refundable damage waiver fee (R10,00 worth of accidental damage cover) OR have a R5,000 refundable security deposit hold placed on their card to gain access to the property. The guest will be sent a link by JBL to verify their booking.
Please note that should a guest choose the refundable security deposit, a R47 service fee will be charged by JBL. This fee covers the cost of verifying the booking and ensuring the property's protection. Just Be Lekker aims to provide a secure and reliable booking experience for all guests.
While the security deposit / damage waiver fee will be processed 1 day before check-in, we advise you to complete the JBL verification process as soon as possible to avoid any complications with your booking.

Lovely place. We stayed over after a hike in the berg. Too short but a lovely spot. Nicole was also super helpful as I asked to leave my laptop with her for the duration of the hike so it didn’t sit in a hot car for 4 days. Easy to pop past and drop it with her beforehand. Next time I’d like to have more time to enjoy the spot!
