I’m not sure how this place gets 5 stars! On arrival parking was very hard due to a narrow tunnel, we ended up using a car park on 2nd night costing us more money. The entrance and stairwell could make some student digs look like a palace. Considering this is your first impression of the place it’s not a good one. The kettle had black bits in it so not useable. There was 1 wine glass!! Cutlery and cutlery drawer was grubby. Wouldn’t recommend anyone staying unless you’re really desperate.

Mixed reviews for this Airbnb! There were a few cleanliness issues - particularly the floor throughout the flat. The shower didn’t work well and the bathroom wasn’t in the cleanest condition on arrival. However the apartment is fairly good value for the price - we liked the sea view and appreciated Colin being flexible with check in and allowing us to arrive early. The area and apartment block itself is a bit run down - though a useful location for exploring north Devon.

Matt was very responsive and helpful, the airbnb was delightful to stay in. It was very airy with big windows facing the sea, great rooms and facilities. The location is close to everything, and very quiet. There was a binder of all information we needed to know about Ilfracombe. Matt was also very accommodating, even when we asked for a late check out at the last minute. Overall, Ilfracombe was an amazing place for a weekend vacation, but our airbnb experience made it even more enjoyable.

Once we were in the apartment we were very pleased. It was very stressful trying to get our long vehicle through the building and into the courtyard to the rear of the building which was the designated parking space. Then we tried to enter No.2, Mews via keysafe until we worked it out that we had to walk back through to the front of the building where we discovered flat No 2 ! Then we found the layout of the flats was confusing, No. 3 being on the ground floor, No.1 being on the 1st floor and No.2 being on the top floor which was very tiring for one of our guests who had mild mobility issues. Market Street itself is very steep and then we had to negotiate 3 flights of stairs! Although we encountered these problems, we loved the apartment itself. In our opinion, not suitable for guests with limited mobility but otherwise the apartment and views were fabulous!
