Lovely house good location though very dark so to navigate the outside when we arrived in the dark - an external light to light driveway or charging point would be useful. Issues with plumbing - single toilet took 3 hours to refill and the bath wouldn’t empty - plug stuck and no easy method to remove it. Otherwise lovely stay - thankyou

The property was exactly as described in a quiet, peaceful out of the way location with a secure dog friendly garden perfect for our three well behaved cocker spaniels. There was everything you needed at the property which was clean, well presented with fully equipped kitchen. We wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

I spent the weekend at this beautiful cabin, and I'm still in awe. From the moment | arrived, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace. The surroundings were absolutely breathtaking-tall trees, fresh air, and the kind of quiet that makes you breathe a little deeper and smile a little easier. The cabin itself was cozy and thoughtfully set up, making it feel like a true home away from home. Every little detail-from the warm lighting to the comfortable furniture-added to the relaxing atmosphere. Whether I was sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee or just taking in the stillness of nature, it was the perfect escape from the noise of everyday life. If you're looking for a place to unwind, recharge, and soak in nature's beauty, I can't recommend this cabin enough. It was more than just a weekend getaway-it was a soul-soothing experience I won't forget anytime soon.

Lovely place to stay, the interior is modern and fresh. Eveything was clean and easy to use. We found it a little tricky to find but we got there in the end. Unfortunately, we had to end our trip early because of an emergency medical issue but otherwise we would have enjoyed the trip.

My husband, dog and I stayed here for a short break as part of our minimoon. The house is private with a huge garden for plenty of space for the pup to run around. Had every appliance you could think of and the house itself was modern and spotless. As others have said, the hot tub does take a while to get going although this was to be expected with the log burner heating system. The host even went to the efforts of leaving us a bottle of fizz and some chocolates. Lots to do in the local area, beautiful surroundings and we thoroughly enjoyed our break. A real hidden gem in Devon! We’re already talking about revisiting with some friends in the near future.

Beautiful little eco house. Very quiet location,lovingly and tastefully furnished. Lots of helpful tips for excursions and food - we had a very relaxed time. The only drawback: the sleeping area above the living room gets very hot and is bad to cool down despite the fan.

We just loved staying here! So well equipped with very much love to detail. It felt like staying with close friends as soon as you step into the door. We slept so good in those comfortable beds and lovely linen. The kitchen had everything you need to cook on your own. The oven with a lot of functions (also microwave) to use and already made ice-cubes in the freezer. I loved the most the warm welcome with beautifull fresh flowers at the table. The garden was well prepared and the hot tube almost in every day use. The natural surrounding and the rural apperance were a plus for us. We can defintely recommend staying here.

Interior of the house was lovely but the outside let it down very badly. Rusty old chairs, filthy bbq, weeds everywhere, Apart from the lawn that had been mowed the garden was a mess. Only two sun loungers, covered area around the side was a tip. Old metal gates at entrance that had to be held back with a piece of wood. Disappointed and not the wow factor that we were looking for..

Lovely location and a beautiful place to say. Located on a very steep hill with very narrow roads with plenty of parking when you reach the location. Ideal place to visit surrounding areas and the house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The lid on the hot tub was broken when we stayed so we had trouble keeping the water warm this was the only issue we had. Lovely family vacation.

We absolutely loved the area, Shaldon is such a sweet village, and the very short passenger ferry trip over to Teignmouth was great. We are in some great pubs and cafes like The Clipper, The Ness Hotel, The Combe Cellars. The house was nice, although the dated instructions sent with the listing about there being a boat on the driveway to look out for were a bit confusing, as there was no boat! We also had to make the the king bed into two single beds when we got there, as although booking for two adults and two kids there were just two double beds made up. The hot tub was a draw for booking, but as others had said, it took several hours to get warm, so just did that the once, and still didn’t manage to get it very warm. The house was otherwise lovely though, and in a really great part of Devon.

Perfect relaxing weekend break. Lovely touches to have milk & other bits for our arrival too. The only negative was we were unable to use the hot tub on the first night because check in was after 4, by the time we filled and lit the hot tub, it was too late to use. It took us around 4-5 hours to get the hot tub to heat up properly, rather than the suggested 2.5. It have been nice to have this pre prepped for our stay. Would definitely recommend for a chilled weekend by the coast.

Very rare that an Airbnb does more than the bare minimum and Sunnybrook went above and beyond. We stayed over Christmas and they had a tree inside and outside, as well as other Christmas decorations to make us feel right at home. They have everything you’d think you’d need to put together a big Christmas dinner as well. Stunning location and stunning finishing touches - would love to come back again.

We loved Sunnybrook! It was beautiful and cosy and finished to a super high standard. It's an ideal place to spend a couple of rainy days or a nice summer escape. Our only note is that the wood fired hot tub took about five hours to heat rather than the 2.5 suggested, but this may have been because of the wet and cold weather.

We had such a relaxing and restful stay here. It was incredible to see the autumn leaves on the trees from every window, and for the inside space to be as beautiful as the outside! We visited Teignmouth via the little ferry, had a trip to Torquay and a lovely time exploring Shaldon. Would definitely return!

beautiful home in a fab location, right near so many incredible coastal walks and places to visit. Wood fired hot tub is a real treat and gets super hot, perfect for a relax after lots of hiking. the house is so well equipped and had everything we needed, including a cafetier. Only slight down side is that the bedroom doors slide rather than shutting fully like traditional doors meaning the whatever is going on in the living area can be heard in the bedrooms. would definitely visit again!

Wonderful house near the beach. It's mostly accessible - the hob isn't able to be reached from a wheelchair, but the oven is a hide-n-slide so it's easy to work with. It has a large garden, an overhang so you can sit outside in the shade or if it's raining, and an outdoor utility space for washing and drying clothes. The hot tub seats 4 people and can get pretty warm from the wood fire (takes a little effort to maintain). The kitchen is spacious and has an induction hob, as well as the best oven I've ever used! Will definitely be returning!

Thank you for a wonderful stay! We stayed over the Easter break and we all had a great time, 2 adults, a teen, 12 year old and 2 dogs. The property was wonderful and perfectly situated for exploring. We enjoyed Shaldon, Teignmouth and Torquay whilst we stayed. Comfy beds and lovely muted decor. Movie night with surround sound was fab! We hope to stay again! The Stevensons

Sunnybrook is a great place. Spotlessly clean, peaceful location and equipped with all the bits and pieces you need for a fab stay. Hot-tub and homely touches top it off nicely. It’s a 15 minute walk to the nearest pub - Shipwrights Arms, warm welcome and nice food. On another 5-10 mins and you’re in the centre of Shaldon with another great pub - The London Inn, great people, great food. A general store and butchers are here too. You can get the ferry to Teignmouth from Shaldon beach or walk/drive over the bridge for supermarkets, shops and more pubs. It’s a bit hilly, but there are some great walks up to and along the coastal path if you fancy it. A great base to explore further afield. We really enjoyed our stay and would throughly recommend.

We stayed at Sunnybrook to celebrate my mums 60th birthday. It was perfect and the flowers and bottle of fizz from the owner was a lovely touch! We were a group of 6 plus dog so made use of the sofa bed on the mezzanine but we had plenty of space. The outdoor area is beautiful, we only wish we’d had warmer weather to be able to have bbq’s. Sunnybrook is beautifully decorated, comfy beds and felt very luxurious. A perfect base to explore the surrounding area.

Me and my family of 6 stayed here for 3 days and loved it. In the middle of the countryside and very close to all the popular areas of Teignmouth. Jacuzzi was great and lovely to be inside at night among the stars, huge garden for space which is great for kids wanting to play. House inside is beautifully designed and well made. We would definitely recommend and want to come back soon!

A quality modern cottage in great location. The healthy walk down and back to Shalden is part of the charm. Walking down for breakfast or walking back after fish & chips makes a great occasion walking and talking all the way - near net-zero calories:-) The veranda and the hot tub make for relaxing outdoor living. In a week we used the car just once with the shoreline, the beaches, the steep green lanes with great views all within a reasonable walk - it is steep but worth it.

Sunnybrook is a stunning house with a beautiful garden and situated in a very tranquil setting in which to explore the local area.The house is beautifully clean and comfortable and stylish throughout. The log burner hot tub requires a certain amount of work to get started but well worth it. Shaldon is a charming little place with lots of lovely pubs, cafes and walks.

This was a lovely relaxing stay. We had a couple of issues with noise from nearby works but the owners sorted it immediately and the lack of a working Hoover. Apart from that we had everything we needed and it was a lovely quiet place close to the sea. Shaldon is lovely and we would recommend the property.

We had a great stay at the Eco house, it’s in a special location in a rural area, such peace and tranquility. It was around 20 minutes to walk down the lane to Shaldon village, and the estuary. It’s a lovely walk. Take a torch though if out at night! We can recommend The London Inn in the village for food, this rivals any pub food we’ve had and we’re seasoned travellers. The house has all you could need, the kitchen was better equipped than our own! Such modern appliances and good instructions given on use. The beds and the house in general were so comfortable it was hard to get motivated to leave the house. The hot tub was a welcome addition, it does need preparation, so ensure you leave enough time if you’d like to use it. The skies are very dark so it’s a prime spot for stargazing from the comfort of the hot tub, bliss. We had great communication with James which was welcome, we booked fairly last minute and we’re so happy we found this place. Don’t hesitate to book!

It wasn’t quite a walkable distance into Shaldon for us due to having two littlies in tow, but it was an easy drive. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant AirBnb! My Father and I stayed here for a week in between house moving and it was incredible. Down a little country lane, the eco friendly house is situated in an ideal spot with only a 5 minute walk to the estuary and 10 minutes to the beach! It had all the amenities you could wish for and they’ve made great use of the space! The thing that stood out for us was the cleanliness - outstandingly clean!! The decor is nice, modern and fits well. It was lovely to sit out in the garden too and listen to the babbling brook and watch the local rabbits! I would 100% stay here again! Thanks James!

Had an amazing week. The house is perfect for relaxing but with all the amenities you need for cooking etc. Our dog loved the garden, which was all fenced and safe for him to wander as well as the great local walks. We took the ferry to Teignmouth, drove to Dartmoor National Park and went to Ness Cove Beach. Would definitely recommend this place!

The garden area was easily big enough for our 3 children and dog and the house had something for everyone: games, books, sports equipment. Couldn’t have asked for more. At the top of a lane up a hill out of Shaldon sits this v modern, high spec and clean holiday property. Has BBQ & hot tub, perfect for this warm summer evenings. Veranda was perfect place to towel off dogs before bringing them in. Outdoor utility area is good & able to access from house without getting wet. Plenty of space for kids, dogs & cars. What an amazing place. The house is beautifully designed with many thoughtful touches. All the furniture and amenities were of such a high standard we were very impressed. The situation was very impressive and the Alpaca's in the field opposite an exciting bonus. We used some of the tips provided on local restaurants although one of them was already full for the duration of our stay so book early for the Fish place in the online guide you receive. We had a restful break in beautiful surroundings with access to some amazing countryside on the doorstep. Thanks James and family

We had the most lovely time at Sunny Brook which is located in a lovely secluded location, close to the pretty village and estuary. The Ness pub and restaurant is worth a visit, as is the London Inn pub. All of which are dog friendly which is an absolute must for us. The property has a large drive and enclosed garden which was fabulous for the dog. Our teenage son loved sleeping and having his on space on the mezzanine and I did in the hot tub. We were very lucky with the weather and ate off the BBQ provided most mornings and evenings. The furnishings are stylish and modern, a very Swedish feel. I would most certainly recommend I couldn’t fault the Holliday or property at all. Thanks to James for managing this and extending our stay at short notice. And the owner Nick for greeting us and telling us about the property.

Clean, spacious, dog friendly and a great host and house. A last minute booking and james could not have been more helpful. He answered questions quickly and called us once payment had been made. We had basic amenities so could make a cuppa on arrival, as well as walking into a warm house. Perfect after a long drive from Derbyshire. The house is brilliant. Super clean, very spacious and with all the mod cons and everything you need for a fabulous stay. The decor and furnishings are lovely, and made it feel very homely. Location is fine if you fancy a walk into town and local dog walks aren't hard to come by. The hot tub was an added bonus, but top tip: light early so as to let the water heat up (around 2 hours is advised by James). All in all, brilliant stay and we will be back again soon.

What a beautiful house to spend time in. Spotlessly clean and no expense spared on decoration or facilities. Comfy beds, great little den for the children and really useful outdoor utility area. Great location just out of Shaldon village being near the end of a lane. All kitchen equipment was pristine with no cleaning of anything required as in some places. Also the kitchen has sharp knives!! What a revelation! Thanks James for being so helpful and answering our queries so quickly. We hope we can return and enjoy this gorgeous little house again!

All of us absolutely loved Sunnybrook and were sad on the day of departure as we could easily stay there much longer! The house is wonderful with its interesting architecture, beautiful decor, modern kitchen and bathroom, cosy communal areas, massive windows, the list is simply endless. Nearly everything is brand new. The location is stunning and very remote, which we enjoyed (we live in London). We also loved the owners’ commitment to green issues - the house has solar panels and recycling boxes that you are kindly asked to use. As guests we felt taken good care of with spotless communication with James, books and games for children and little details such as an iPhone charger. Hope this reads as a glowing review as that was my aim. Sunnybrook is not just a house, it’s an experience!
