Lily Cottage is a charming character home tucked away in a quiet corner, but close to the town centre. This much-loved cottage is finished to an extremely high standard – from muted tones to the breezily nautical - and has a good-sized garden with rattan furniture. Lily Cottage is an easy, level walk into town and the riverside. Ideally set up for a romantic stay for a couple or for small family holidays – pets are welcome, too. A parking permit is provided for the nearby car park.
Through to the cosy living room with sofa and armchairs, freesat TV, soundbar, DVD player and Sonos speaker. Limed oak effect floor, wooden plantation shutters, electric woodburner effect fire and underfloor heating.
At the rear of the property is the galley kitchen complete with electric double oven, small fridge with freezer, built in fan heater, painted dresser, butler sink and small dishwasher.
Four deep steps lead up from the kitchen into a bright and airy dining room with vaulted ceiling. Again, with lime oak effect flooring with underfloor heating, dining table, seating for six, sideboard and a wood burner with cosy seating beside.
From the kitchen there is a narrow staircase which takes you to the first floor where you will find the two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed built in wardrobe, plantation shutters, limed effect floors and freestanding electric radiator.
The second bedroom has a day bed that can be extended to make a double or twin. Again, with built in wardrobe, limed effect floors and freestanding electric radiator.
Please be aware of the traditional nature of this old fisherman’s cottage. Steep staircase may cause access issues for certain guests and that being an old cottage the ceiling heights and door frames are low.
Outside:
Across the footpath from the front door there is a fair-sized enclosed garden. A private space which is a lovely suntrap on a summer’s afternoon. The rattan furniture is on a decked area, past the deck is a further slate shingle area with mature shrubs.
It is possible to park close to the cottage to unload.
Parking:
The car park pass provided is valid for Mayors Avenue car park a 2-minute walk note that at significantly busy times of the year such as Regatta and the height of summer the pass does not guarantee a space, on the rare occasion the car park is full the permit is valid for the park and ride at the top of town.
Availability:
In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Friday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact me with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible.
Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Friday changeover.
Please get in touch if you need any advice or tips on places to visit, walks (we're right on the South West Coast path), pubs & restaurants etc.

The location is excellent and the accommodation is nicely presented and decorated. However there are several areas where the property needs work. The garden is not fit for purpose with rotten decking broken garden furniture and overgrown and dead plants. The fridge apart from being tiny has a broken shelf so you cannot use the door properly for storage. The twin beds need replacement mattresses and the settee is completely uncomfortable.
