Rose Cottage is a charming three-storey period terraced house in the very heart of Dartmouth, nestled behind the harbour. Recently renovated, it encapsulates the characterful individuality reflected in the charming buildings in this ancient yet vibrant town. Inside, modern, thoughtful décor and fittings make for the perfect romantic getaway for couples, or a fun and easy holiday with friends and family – and room for a small dog, too. A parking permit is supplied for the nearby car park.
The space
Rose Cottage is a charming three storey period terraced house placed in the very heart of Dartmouth. Recently renovated, it retains the quirkiness and charm of a house in one of the oldest parts of town, whilst providing modern technologies with Wifi and Smart TVs to ensure the perfect romantic getaway for couples or a fun and easy holiday with friends and family. A parking permit is supplied for the nearby car park, one small dog welcome.


Accommodation:

The front door of this beautiful little cottage opens into a modern open-plan, combined kitchen/dining and living room area with oak flooring and worktops, which are complimented with large, comfortable lounge seating and bar dining.

The very well-equipped kitchen is complete with large Belfast sink, solid wood worktops, a single oven, induction hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso machine (capsules not provided) and all other kitchen utensils and accessories.

The living space consists a large sofa and a smaller 2 seat sofa along with a cushioned window seat, Smart TV with NOW TV Movies and Entertainment packages.

Upstairs guests will find the two large bedrooms, one of which has its own en-suite.

Bedroom One - located on the first floor this large bedroom has a zip and link super- king size bed (6’) that can also be split into two full size single beds if required (we will request your preference on booking) This creates a versatility perfect for a family or groups of friends. The large bay windows of this room overlook one of the towns churches and down to the main High Street. The room contains a built-in wardrobe, bedside tables & lamps and seating and Smart TV.

Bathroom One – This bathroom is on the first floor and has been recently renovated along with the rest of the house. It sports a large sink with a touch-press lit mirror, a bath/shower, toilet and heated towel rail.

Bedroom Two – Located on the third floor, this large bedroom has a KINGSIZE bed, dressing table, Smart TV and plenty of wardrobe space. Located in the wardrobe is the ironing board, iron and drying rack for your use. Once again, this room provides large, sunlit windows overlooking Dartmouth’s’ historic church, St Saviours.

Bathroom Two – This bathroom belongs to the bedroom on the top floor of our property and has a large walk-in wardrobe with main showerhead and a handheld shower-head as well as a large sink, toilet and heated towel rail.

Parking:

The car park pass provided is valid for Mayors Avenue car park a 2-minute walk away. Please note that the pass does not guarantee a space.


Nearby:

A short walk down will take you to the heart of Dartmouth. Here you will find a great selection of shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes and galleries. From the embankment you will find ferries to Kingswear or a longer walk will take you to the South West Coast Path which runs out the mouth of the river past Dartmouth Castle. Blackpool Sands is the closest beach, a 5-minute drive away in the village of Stoke Fleming.

Great base for a visit to Dartmouth. Couldn't be more central, but because it's on a lane with no access for vehicles, it's very quiet. For loading and unloading you can park at the end of the lane, which is just a few metres from the front door, while main carpark is a just a few minutes walk away. Would definitely stay there again.

Rose Cottage was perfect for 2 over Christmas. It was a great location for us with our family literally around the corner. Very warm & cosy. I actually turned the heating down as it was too hot. Really appreciated the constant hot water & very comfy beds sheets & towels. The parking permit was a bonus. We will definitely re book really felt it was a little bolt hole for us.

Second stay in this property as we own a coffee landrover that is at Dartmouth Food Festival. It's close to where we work for the 3 days on the South Embankment, it's close to the places we choose to eat when we're there incl some great indie coffee shops (don't use the Costa machine in Co-Op - there are at least 4 great indie coffee shops (not Warrens or The Cornish Bakery, we mean proper indie) within 2 minutes walk, and a lovely cafe right next door! Great space, works well for us.

Fantastic in town location, couldn’t ask for better! Lovely charming cottage with everything you could want including extremely large bedrooms and clutter free. Would definitely stay again. Extremely quiet despite being neighbours with a pub and so close to centre -didn’t hear a thing. Only negatives are the super king bed (great size!) on the first floor has an extremely soft mattress which I found difficult to sleep on and more could’ve been made from the tiny courtyard to use as drying space for sailing clothes, which can’t go in the tumble dryer, however, the downpipe would need to be fixed first as water is leaking from it.

If only 50% of the reservation has been paid, no refund will be issued and the remaining 50% will simply not be charged.
  • If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent are not refunded.
  • Cleaning fees are always refunded if the reservation is cancelled before check-in.
