Middle Cottage sits in the village of tranquil Cornworthy. Out of the way of the tourist trail, this is a peaceful spot even in the height of the summer. 200-year-old Middle Cottage has been entirely renovated. Solid woods and crisp whites, and with painted and exposed stone walls, its modern living meets age-old character. There are gardens front and back, and views across the rolling countryside. The refurbished inn is close to hand, and it’s walking distance to two brilliant waterside pubs.
The space
The front stable door opens into the slate-tile lobby with 2 steps up to the open plan ground floor. The kitchen/dining area to the right is well equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, ceramic hob, fan oven and larder fridge as well as microwave, kettle and toaster. (There is a freezer available to guests located in the shed at the rear of the property.)
To the left is the living area with 3-seater sofa and armchair centred around the inglenook fireplace. Beyond the fireplace is the snug area with 2-seater ‘snuggle’ sofa and TV (The TV is on a pivoting wall bracket so it can be watched from the lounge area or the snug). The stairs lead up from the snug to the bedrooms and family bathroom.
Upstairs guests will find the master bedroom which has an oak framed kingsize bed, furnishings and an annex that can easily accommodate a travel cot (please advise upon enquiry if you would like one included). The second bedroom has a standard double and furnishings. The family bathroom has a heated slate tile floor, toilet, basin and bath with electric shower over.

Outside:
There are sheltered gardens at the front and the back of the cottage, both with patio areas and tables and chairs so that you can catch the sun at any time of day. Great for enjoying a coffee and croissant in the morning or a cold beer or hot chocolate in the evening.

Parking:
There is space outside to pull up and unload and plenty of unrestricted on road parking just a few yards away.

Stunning country cottage in a pretty little village. The cottage is cosy, historic but with modern conveniences. The living area & two nooks are so pretty and cosy. The TV is on an extendable arm so you can watch it in the nook or living area. It has beautiful views of the countryside & old priory. It was absolutely pristine. There is a dishwasher & everything you need to cook, clean, wash up & do laundry. The temperature was good & the beds were so comfy! The blinds blocked out the light so lay ins were had! WiFi was fast and there was a smart TV with Netflix, Prime, iPlayer... Cosy wood Brunner though we didn't actually use it. Was a nice card, flowers, chocolates & a welcome card - such a nice touch. Will definitely stay again as felt so at home and happy here.

Beautiful cosy cottage. We stayed with 2 guests for a few nights during December and got given the company of a tasteful Christmas tree, fairy lights and some other small festive decorations. There were also a bouquet of fresh flowers waiting for us in the kitchen. We were very happy with the whole experience, the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the fire place a lot and felt enchanted by the surroundings. There are amazing walks at your doorstep. The parking space is not next to the cottage but you can unload your car next to the cottage and then park up a little bit further down the street. Highly recommended!

We had a great week in Cornworthy. It's a beautiful little village, not to. far from civilisation. We both work remotely, so the setup was great for us and the wifi was excellent.

Property Manager Terms

  • For a full refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email).
  • For a 50% refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel 7 full days before the listing's local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email), otherwise no refund will be given. If only 50% of the reservation has been paid, no refund will be issued and the remaining 50% will simply not be charged.
  • If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent are not refunded.
  • Cleaning fees are always refunded if the reservation is cancelled before check-in.
  • Accommodation fees (the total nightly rate you’re charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.
  • A reservation is officially cancelled when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Change or Cancel.
