Number 20 is one of the rare spacious homes among the slender townhouses of Clarence Street. It’s just a short walk to explore Dartmouth’s diverse eateries and age-old inns yet is set back from the hustle and bustle for a truly relaxing stay. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms make it ideal for couples, groups, or families. There’s a relaxed living area and well-equipped kitchen plus a private patio with views across the town towards the river, plus a large garden and garage parking.
The space
Number 20 Clarence Street is the perfect spot for a South Devon escape. Centrally located in the beautiful riverside town of Dartmouth; the river as well as the town’s collection of shops, restaurants and cafes are only a short walk away. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms Number 20 is ideal for couples, groups or families, the living area is very relaxed and the kitchen very well-equipped. Number 20 benefits from a private patio with views stretching over the town towards the river, large garden and garage parking.


Accommodation:

The property is accessed via 12 steps to the left of the garage.

The front door leads from the patio into a large hallway which has plenty of storage space for boots and coats as well as a store cupboard under the stairs.

At the front of the property is the spacious and elegant living/dining room with views across to Kingswear and the hills above Dartmouth. This very light and airy room has lounge seating for six including window seat and large TV with freesat channels as well as dining table that will comfortably seat six.

Off the hallway there is a well-equipped kitchen that includes electric hob/oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and full range of utensils, crockery pans etc… At the back of the kitchen there is a utility room with washing machine and sink unit leading to the back door and a toilet with hand basin.

The ground floor bedroom is at the rear of the property with standard double bed, lovely en-suite bathroom which has a bath with power shower over, vanity unit and toilet.

The first floor is accessed from the hallway via a standard set of stairs with a quarter landing at the bottom. On the first floor you will find two bedrooms and a large bathroom. The first bedroom is at the front of the house and has a king size bed and dual aspect windows; giving views of the river as well as Dartmouth town. There are two wardrobes and a dressing table giving plenty of storage and an easy chair. The second bedroom is a twin room with two 3ft single beds along with wardrobe and dressing table. There is also a large bathroom on this floor with walk in power shower, toilet and basin.

Outside:

There is a private patio garden with outdoor furniture and attractive planters. There is a large garden to the side with seating. The private parking is a single garage that will fit a medium car. Bigger cars can be fitted in with mirrors folded in and careful parking – a Freelander and a Mercedes Vito van have been known to fit (the adjacent double garage photographed is not part of the property).


Nearby:

A short walk down will take you to the heart of Dartmouth. Here you will find a great selection of shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes and galleries. From the embankment you will find ferries to Kingswear or a longer walk will take you to the South West Coast Path which runs out the mouth of the river past Dartmouth Castle. Blackpool Sands is the closest beach, a 5-minute drive away in the village of Stoke Fleming.


Availability:

In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact me with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible.
Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover. Weekend breaks available October

We have just got back from a delightful 3 nights at Number Twenty.The owners have lovely taste. The house was gorgeous, and very well equipped. Everything you need is there, right down to dishwasher tablets! Will definitely book again

20 Clarence Street is a lovely, convenient and comfortable holiday home, with 3 good sized bedrooms, a well-stocked kitchen, a lovely living room with nice views and most importantly, plenty of bathrooms for 6 adults! It has a nice sized patio area with use of a barbecue. Spotlessly clean and comfortable, the house is very conveniently located in town, a few doors away from a pub and 5 minutes walk from the Embankment and the town centre. The approach up a steep drive might not suit a very long vehicle but most cars should be fine with it, and the use of a garage is absolutely brilliant in a place notorious for its lack of parking. We would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting a great holiday in Dartmouth.

Property Manager Terms

  • For a full refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email).
  • For a 50% refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel 7 full days before the listing's local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email), otherwise no refund will be given. If only 50% of the reservation has been paid, no refund will be issued and the remaining 50% will simply not be charged.
  • If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent are not refunded.
  • Cleaning fees are always refunded if the reservation is cancelled before check-in.
  • Accommodation fees (the total nightly rate you’re charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.
  • A reservation is officially cancelled when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Change or Cancel.
