We had a lovely stay at Uphigh, and I have only one issue, which was that we were a regatta team and needed a quick turn around in the house - being able to use only one shower at a time due to the combi system, despite there being two bathrooms, was a bit inconvenient. Everything else was great and a truly stunning view from the garden patio - sitting and watching the river laid out in front was very relaxing!

The perfect weekend away! Beautiful views, extremely peaceful. Parking is a bit of a headache - I found it easiest to park in Kingswear and take the ferry over rather than try and battle the streets of Dartmouth itself. Did not detract from our stay at all!

Unfortunately, I have to start this review negatively, as the Parking is a huge issue. There is no onsite parking and the only available parking is down in the town, which leads to a 20 minute walk uphill. If you are not the fittest, or you have any health issues, you simply cannot stay in this Air BnB. The second criticism i have to mention is at checkin, the code provided was wrong. We had no response from anyone and eventually managed to get through to housekeeper, who was helpful. All that aside the actual house is very nice, and the views are breathtaking. But for the above reasons, I cannot reccomended this that much.

Amazing views and very well equipped with everything you could need. Considering the price I would say it needs updating, the carpets are worn and the bathrooms are not very modern. I think the home would be great for the summer however not for the winter. Smell of damp in the upstairs and loft bedroom, heating seems to be turned off frequently (Hive installed so could be the owners). Our clothes were damp upstairs in the bedrooms. Sofas aren’t very comfortable although if staying in the summer you would mostly be outside. Overall a lovely view and plenty of space for a large group however it needs updating and the damp smell to be addressed as well as the heating issue. Sadly overpriced (paid over £1000 for 4 nights) you could get much more for your money I think you’re paying more for the view.

  • For a 50% refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel 7 full days before the listing's local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email), otherwise no refund will be given. If only 50% of the reservation has been paid, no refund will be issued and the remaining 50% will simply not be charged.
  • If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent are not refunded.
  • Cleaning fees are always refunded if the reservation is cancelled before check-in.
  • Accommodation fees (the total nightly rate you’re charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.
  • A reservation is officially cancelled when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Change or Cancel.
