Welcome to The Boho Cave: a cozy apartment for 2, in the heart of the South Peninsula in Cape Town

Discover this cozy, boho-themed apartment that offers couples and digital nomads a comfortable retreat. The open kitchen/lounge features a wood-burning fireplace and opens up completely to a private deck with a built-in braai area and private plunge pool.

The well-equipped kitchen includes a medium-sized fridge, Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, portable induction stovetop, and a mobile air fryer mini oven, ensuring a decent meal can be made. The lounge area provides a smart TV with Netflix and YouTube access and a wood-burning fireplace. Reliable, fast Wi-Fi and a UPS ensure uninterrupted connectivity during load-shedding.

Descend the stairs to the cave-style bedroom with its ambient lighting, creating a peaceful atmosphere for our guests. It offers built-in cupboards, an ensuite bathroom with a large shower, and a queen bed dressed in soft, 100% cotton linens and plush towels. Find us on social @welcomemountaingem or @aircnc_ct

We live on the property and have another Airbnb unit (The Gem) but it's all completely seperate from this unit including the entrance. The pool is private. There is off-street parking available for 1 vehicle.

The apartment is suitable for work from home as it has a dedicated desk space in the lounge. Should another desk be needed, please let us know and we can arrange that prior to arrival.

Smoking allowed on the deck / outside areas only. We are 420 friendly.

Please no 3rd party bookings unless you are an authorised company booking for employees as per the terms and conditions of Airbnb.

Please note accessibility to the bedroom via stairs only.

Want to surf but didn't bring a board? We have a longboard available for hire. Please enquire upon booking.

-----Windmill beach: great for snorkeling and diving

Please note the following:
the area is a quiet neighbourhood surrounded by nature and as such we have to request that you please respect the neighbours of Welcome Glen. No loud music and shouting after 11pm on weekends and 9pm in the week would be greatly appreciated.

Guest access

You have the entire guest suite to yourself which includes a private entrance and a private deck/pool area. There is off-street parking for one vehicle.

Other things to note

Please remember we do live in a neighborhood: a stay at Welcome Glen Mountain Gem is a stay with the locals. We request that you please respect the quiet nature of the area: no loud music and shouting after 11pm on the weekends (Friday / Saturday) and after 9pm in the week (Sunday - Thursday). Your cooperation in the matter would be greatly appreciated. We also have another unit on the same level as your lounge area so please keep music and the TV to a respectable level.

Your rate includes the following:
- 1 bag of wood for the braai area
- 1 bag of wood for the fireplace
- a couple of firestarters for both the braai and the fireplace
- a pack of blitz
- a small milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper.

(Please note due to the self catering nature of this property, amenities will not be replenished during your stay. You are welcome to purchase should you run out.)

Due to the nature of the construction of the building, it can get loud when the rain POURS down. Normal gentle rain is not too loud. Earplugs can be provided if you find the noise too intrusive.

Due to the nature of the area (mountain), we do have baboons and other wild animals come down from time to time. This does set the neighbourhood dogs off but we do have a tight network in the community and we do communicate to owners if the dogs get out of hand.

Laurette is very accommodating, communicative, and helpful. The Cave is so cozy, and a great place to spend time in Welcome Glen. We absolutely loved the Braii and pool especially on hot days. Definitely recommend.

Laurette's a lovely host and super helpful and responsive. I would recommend this more for couples and people who have a lot of activities planned. Well the place was lovely and unique, it's not well suited to remote workers, some small things, the wifi lagged and the furniture was uncomfortable.

The perfect tranquil home away from home, hidden in the mountains, close enough from the hustle but far enough to enjoy the natural beauty of Cape Town. Laurette was an incredible host! So friendly and beyond helpful, made me feel right at home and so incredibly safe. A beautiful cozy designed space, perfect for summer or winter, alone or with company! Just honestly a divine stay all round and the perfect getaway that feels just like home! Xxxx

Laurette was very helpful and responsive. She helped with queries and was always approachable and friendly. I was made to feel welcome with nice personalised touches to that end. Laurette was discreet and professional throughout. Would recommend.

Absolutely no smoking allowed in the apartment: Should the smell of smoke be detected during the check out clean, you will be fined an additional cleaning fee of R500.00 No noise / parties without exception: Should we receive a complaint, we will communicate with you but upon receiving a 2nd complaint, you will be asked to leave and a refund will not be issued. No pets allowed: Should an unauthorised pet be detected, you will be fined R500 and asked to leave the property and no refund will be issued. No overnight guests: only the number of guests that have been booked for are authorised to sleep at the property. Additional guests will be charged R1000 per person per night. The extraction system in the bathroom MUST be used when taking a shower to allow airflow in the apartment. This is a cave style bedroom which means it is "underground" and ventilation is vital. Should you check out and it is evident that you did NOT use the extraction, an additional cleaning fee of R500 will be charged for the cleaning.

Security deposit of 50% is payable.

Please refer to our Terms & conditions. By making a reservation, you confirm that you have read and understood our terms and conditions.
Please note a booking is not confirmed or secured until the deposit requirement of 50% has been paid in full. We reserves the right, without notice to the Company / Agent / Guest / Group, to release any booking held where the required deposit has not been paid in full within the stated period.
Should we receive confirmed bookings against provisional bookings, we do reserve the right to contact you to request releasing of the booking and will require a response within 24 hours or the bookings will be automatically released.

A reservation will be held on a provisional basis for 24 hours from the time of booking. The Company / Agent / Guest is required to release provisional bookings in writing by e- mail.

Cancelations
All booking cancellations must be received by email. No show or early departure forfeits 100% of total stay.
Cancellations 14 days or less prior forfeit 75% of total stay.
Cancellations 15 to 30 days prior forfeit 50% of total stay.
Cancellations in excess of 30 days prior will incur a 10% administration fee to cover banking and handling charges.
Please note that we do consider a cancellation on merit: if it is truly beyond the guests’ control, we will charge accordingly.
