We stayed for a wedding and had young children with us, so having beds for everyone including a cot for our baby was very important to get a good night sleep. I checked in advance that they would provide a cot so I didn’t bring my own and they confirmed. When we arrived and we couldn’t find the cot, I contacted L’Abode Accommodation to get their help finding it. They kept insisting they would find a solution, despite I being clear that the cot wasn’t in the property. Come 10pm, they just stopped contacting us. The accommodation is great but the lack of service or care from the L’Bode Accommodation almost ruined the trip and our ability to enjoy the wedding. I will avoid any accommodation run by this company in the future. I’ve stayed in many airbnbs and never experienced anything like this. Real shame.

Pointe Rapide Estate is an amazing house in a stunning location. After speaking to Dale (one of the owners) we learnt it has a facinating and intriguing history. It is set on a large property so you will definitely need a car. The house is large and full of treasures and best of all it had a beautiful wood fire that was so nostalgic to sit in front of on those cold Tassie winter nights while we enjoyed all the delicious Tasmanian fare and wine we had gathered in the day. It was so quiet and peaceful and a wonderful place to unwind. Keep in mind to get to it is through farming and wine country so not many street lights, and you need to be extremely mindful of all the wildlife running across the roads from dawn to dusk. They were especially abundant on the property so drive slow in the winter months when it is dark by 5pm. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location to explore Tamar wine region and the perfect sized home for our group (3 couples). The beautiful views of the Tamar river were a bonus.

This was a sensational house probably suited for up to eight people max. Three great bedrooms . two with ensuite. And one of the living rooms has a good double sofa bed. Brillant view and gardens and very close to holm oak winery (800m drive) Great kitchen and fridge was stocked with some goodies. would definitely come back again !!!

Stay was good,but it was much animals poor,that should be cleaned,otherwise you can’t walk around,some windows couldn’t be opened.

the photos that show the property are just how it is. it is a stunning location and very quiet as the closest Neighbour was 800m away. I would recommend a stay here if you want peace and quiet and to feel spoiled. (the heated floors in the bathrooms were amazing)

Pointe Rapide is a special place. It is very private with exceptional views. The only neighbours are Pademelons and bandicoots. The house is well appointed and very spacious. We had a wonderful 6 days there.

My family of 3 stayed 3 nights at this beautiful property while exploring the Tamar Valley and Launceston. It’s a very picturesque setting and the house and furnishings were gorgeous. The bedrooms in particular were glorious and the beds and linen were luxurious and extremely comfortable. I loved my soak in the bath overlooking the views of the Tamar. We cooked some meals at home and also ate at the highly rated and tasty Indian restaurant in Beaconsfield, as well as Jospeh Cromy in Launceston. Last day was spent exploring Tasmania Zoo which was so much fun. Coming home each day to this lovely property was a treat. We highly recommend this property for families wanting to explore the area. We had a fabulous stay in this beautiful house. There are so many lovely touches around the house that make it feel unique but homely. Very spacious rooms and the kitchen has everything you could ever need. Squeaky clean bathrooms and fresh crisp linen on the beds with plenty of heating options for winter. Gorgeous surroundings- you won’t want to leave.

Point Rapide was a wonderful place for our family of 6 adults to spend time together - there were shared spaces, and areas where you could have time to yourselves too. It’s location is sublime - amazing outlook and setting. The 3 bedrooms were all extremely comfortable and well set up - each offering different character and features. The kitchen lent itself to making meals together which could be shared outside or at the dining table. And the proximity to Holm Oak (walking) and Small Wonder (short drive) wineries was handy too! If you want to spend time with friends or family relaxing, this is highly recommended.

Point Rapide in Rowella was a peaceful retreat in a unique location. Perfect for a relaxing stay in an historic building in beautiful surroundings. Everything we needed was there. The summer evenings were ideal for sitting on the patio facing the Tamar River and then watching the sun set to the west over the fields and grape vines. Close to a number of wineries and a number of other Tamar attractions.

We got great vibes as we drove up to the building. It was beutifully presented with the outside gardens and approach and the inside was luxurious. It is quite a long way from shops so recommend some forward planning to get yourself wine, cheese and food before arriving.

What a beautiful place to be able to stay in. Wonderfully appointed, historic, huge gardens to explore. gorgeous views in the everchanging light of Tassie. Walk to local wineries, check they are open though! make sure you take supplies with you, no shops close by.

Fantastic place to stay with so many interesting places to explore. We loved our BBQ dinner at sunset overlooking the river. Hope that we will be able to make it back again in the future. Highly recommend staying for a few days if you can!

Fabulous property, clean, great outdoor area and surrounds, great comfy beds, well supplied bathrooms, plush bedrooms and great kitchen facilities. Fly spray and a fly swatter worth taking as there are no screens and if you have paddleboards or kayaks, the water is at the bottom of the garden so worth taking them. Overall a 10/10 experience.

What a wonderful place. We stayed 8 nights for relaxation and rejuvenation and that is exactly what we found at this spectacular and comfortable home. The views of the Tamar are amazing, the house flows beautifully and is a pleasure to be in. The easterly and northerly facing verandas provide a place to enjoy the sun all day with a coffee in the morning and a local wine in the afternoon. The heated floors in the bathrooms are a real treat, and the wood heater makes the cooler evenings cozy and relaxing. Thank you for sharing this amazing historical property. We look forward to our next stay.

My family and I had a lovely stay at this accommodation. The location was stunning, it was secluded and picturesque in a perfect location overlooking the Tamar Valley, excellent for those wanting to explore the surrounding wineries. The house was amazing and as advertised. The communication provided throughout our stay in regards to location/check-in/amenities was thorough and much appreciated. We had issues connecting to the internet but that didn't concern us as we were out exploring all day. Overall, it was a great experience and we'd definitely enjoy staying here again in the future.

We had a great time at Pointe Rapide Estate. The house was immaculate and the owners had thoughtfully set up a high chair and cot for our baby. My friends and I stayed here for 4 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The house is so classy and yet it has that heritage touch to it. It is located right next to wineries which we loved visiting but also meant that it was so quiet and peaceful - heaven!! We loved the stunning view of the Tamar river from the balcony and the equally stunning view of the vineyards from the front door. And when we arrived back home at night we could see wallabies and bunny rabbits jumping around which was such a special treat. The house is fully equipped and very clean. We did find some small spiders in the bathrooms when we first arrived but we also understand that this is normal for being so close to the vineyards. We also loved the heated floors in the bathrooms and the fact that we could enter the house with a pin instead of using keys - so fancy! We also feel that this is so reasonably priced for what you get - so well worth it. As well as the fact that the L' Abode staff refunded for one guest when we had to change our booking - we appreciated the flexibility and understanding. Thank you for having us. If we come back again we would love to stay here again!

Felt as though we’d stepped back in time and became Lord and Lady of The Manor. Well, that was until our feet hit the underfloor heating in the bathrooms of this fabulous house. Renovations are just gorgeous and the water views incredible. Loved every minute in this 1800’s gem and didn’t want to leave. We will certainly be back and highly recommend to anyone wanting a beautiful, romantic getaway in the West Tamar Valley wine region. David and Sandra.

This was a last minute post Xmas getaway for our family of 4 and we had a comfortable stay. Communication, amenities and inclusions were great. If you want to escape from the day to day and stay in a place that is full of history and on the banks of West Tamar in a grand house, then this would tick the boxes.... Beaconsfield about 15 mins away is closest town with supermarkets and bakery and you are surrounded by wineries. Hillwood Berry Farm is a must do if visiting at the right time of year.
