The space
Sycamore House is more than a home—it's a space where bohemian ease meets refined luxury. The perfect home from home for couples and/or honeymooners. With its open-plan design and flood of natural light, this 2-bedroom sanctuary promises both style and serenity. The primary bedroom boasts a plush, extra-length queen bed while the secondary bedroom features a comforting standard queen bed. Each room, a haven in its own right, shares a well appointed full bathroom.

For moments of introspection or a quiet start to the day, both bedrooms open directly onto a secluded garden nook. This space, enveloped by nature, provides the perfect backdrop for meditation, enjoying a solitary coffee, or simply soaking in the serene mountain views.

The home's fully-equipped kitchen, though bohemian in essence, has upmarket finishes and amenities, allowing for gourmet culinary exploits. Adjacent to the living area, a dedicated work space stands ready for those times when work beckons, ensuring you stay productive amidst the tranquility.

Among the experiences Sycamore House offers, envision unwinding in a luxurious bath infused with essential oils as the day fades, or immersing yourself in a novel in the sunroom, where a day bed sits invitingly beneath the shade of a mature granadilla tree. Perhaps prepare a gourmet meal with fresh local ingredients, found at the Neighbourhood Farm, mere minutes away or light a fire and relax in the lush garden, observing the bird life that frequents the quiet space.

Parking is available for one vehicle within the premises and additional off-street parking for another 2 cars. The beach, a mere 5-15 minute drive away (see below), beckons for morning strolls or sunset reflections. And upon your return, the private garden's outdoor shower (cold only) ensures a refreshing rinse.

Sycamore House extends beyond mere accommodation—it offers transformative moments, be it through luxury indulgences, thoughtful amenities, or the simple, profound joy of being in a space so harmoniously designed.

We request that you please keep any loud talking and noise to a minimum. As you will be able to tell the moment you step through the doors, the area is tranquil and peaceful and we would like all in the surrounding neighbourhood to enjoy it. Please no loud music or shouting.

The mature granadilla tree that covers the sunroom area, does produce condensation which drips down. This also attracts bee's that are only interested in the plant. If you are highly allergic to bee's, we request that you please reconsider booking this property, unless you have sufficient amenities at hand to assist you.

Please note that this property is not suitable for children under the age of 12. No pets allowed.

To open the space more, allowing more light, space and love into the home, the rafters have been exposed and ceiling removed. This means that the entire ceiling space is open to the rooms, bathroom, kitchen etc. There is a stable door for the 2nd bedroom (not all the way up) and a curtain drop as a door for the primary bedroom.

Please note this home only accommodates 4 people. No more than 4 people are allowed to stay over in the house at one time.

Please note the following:
The area is a quiet neighbourhood surrounded by nature and as such we have to request that you please respect the neighbours of Silverglades. No loud music and shouting will be tolerated. Absolutely no parties and events are allowed.
Guest access
Guests have full access to the property apart from the garage. Unauthorised access to the garage will constitute as breaking and entering and will be dealt with as such.
Other things to note
Smoking is allowed only in the sunroom with the door to the house closed and the windows of the sun room open. You are also able to smoke around the garden areas. Please make use of the ash trays provided and do not leave your buds laying in the garden. Any smoke detected in the house will be met with a R500 fine.

We request you to please keep the doors and windows leading out to the garden from the Sunroom open during the day to allow adequate ventilation. Please keep the doors leading into the kitchen and the lounge closed and locked when you vacate the property for the day. Please do not leave any valuables in the sunroom or outside when you are not at the property. The floor can becoming slippery when wet from the condensation so please practice caution: please wipe up the floor IF it becomes too much.

South Africa is experiencing frequent blackout's due to Loadshedding from our national energy provider. Please download the Eskomsepush app and save Zone 8, Fish Hoek before your visit. We do have a UPS device on our internet router. The decorative lights in the lounge are rechargeable so should you notice they start to dim, please switch them on when there is power to recharge. The bedside lights are also rechargeable. Should they dim, please recharge using the USB cables located in the bedside tables. Please do not take these cables home.

Please remember we do live in a neighborhood: a stay at Sycamore House is a stay with the locals. We request that you please respect the quiet nature of the area: no loud music and shouting will be tolerated. Cooperation in the matter would be greatly appreciated.

There is a filtered water tap in the kitchen for drinking and cooking.

A beautiful, calm and relaxing ambiance. Loved the yellow Hibiscus and my daughter was mesmerized by the granadillas dropping from the creeper, ready to eat. The beds are very comfy, the rooms and bathroom are spacious and clean, the kitchen is fully kitted out with everything you need. Wonderful experience!

No illegal substances are allowed on the premises. Should there be a suspicion of such substances being consumed, security / police will be called and if found to be in possession of such substances, you will be escorted off the property and no refund will be issued. No pets allowed: Should an unauthorised pet be detected, you will be fined R500 and asked to leave the property and no refund will be issued. No overnight guests: only the number of guests that have been booked for are authorised to sleep at the property. Additional guests will be charged R1000 per person per night. We respectfully ask that you do not eat or drink in the bedrooms, or move the furniture around excessively. Should any damages be found, a damage claim will be put through to Airbnb for your account. Please take care of the keys: lost keys will incur a R500 fine.

Security deposit of 50% is payable.

Please note a booking is not confirmed or secured until the deposit requirement of 50% has been paid in full. We reserves the right, without notice to the Company / Agent / Guest / Group, to release any booking held where the required deposit has not been paid in full within the stated period.
Should we receive confirmed bookings against provisional bookings, we do reserve the right to contact you to request releasing of the booking and will require a response within 24 hours or the bookings will be automatically released.

A reservation will be held on a provisional basis for 24 hours from the time of booking. The Company / Agent / Guest is required to release provisional bookings in writing by e- mail.

Cancelations
All booking cancellations must be received by email. No show or early departure forfeits 100% of total stay.
Cancellations 14 days or less prior forfeit 75% of total stay.
Cancellations 15 to 30 days prior forfeit 50% of total stay.
Cancellations in excess of 30 days prior will incur a 10% administration fee to cover banking and handling charges.
Please note that we do consider a cancellation on merit: if it is truly beyond the guests’ control, we will charge accordingly.
