The space

Aleah is a haven of calm set in the heart of Cathkin Estates, a 1000-hectare wildlife sanctuary of rolling grasslands, streams, and forest. The home’s open-plan living area flows onto a partially covered patio, perfect for dining outdoors or simply admiring the views of the Drakensberg escarpment.

Inside, three spacious bedrooms with generous cupboard space provide comfort for families and groups. The fully equipped kitchen invites shared meals and laughter, while evenings call for a glass of wine and a good book by the wood-burning fireplace. With solar backup power, you can relax knowing your stay is smooth even during loadshedding.

Beyond Aleah’s peaceful garden, Cathkin Estates offers the chance to spot roaming zebra and plains game right from your doorstep. For those seeking adventure, the Champagne Valley delivers: hike mountain trails, cycle scenic routes, soar in a hot-air balloon, zipline above the canopy, or visit the Bird of Prey and Reptile Centres. Golf, tennis, horse riding, and bowls are all nearby, along with charming cafés, restaurants, and local shops within 10–15km.

Other things to note

Cleaning: For stays of 4+ nights, cleaning is included every 3rd or 4th weekday (excluding public holidays). Extra cleaning can be arranged at R420 per day (weekends/public holidays charged at a higher rate).

Loadshedding: Solar power supports the home, but guests are encouraged to use electricity mindfully, especially on cloudy days.

Damage Protection: Managed via Just Be Lekker (JBL). Guests pay either a R600 non-refundable waiver (R7,500 accidental cover) or a R5,000 refundable deposit (+R47 JBL service fee). Verification is required before check-in to secure your booking.

Myself and friends had a great stay, Euphoric and teams communication was on point from recommendations, instructions and constant check ups on a daily basis. This is a lovely place for a long week-end away (we could easily have have stayed for longer). We were two couples and there was plenty of space, a well-equipped kitchen to cook in and a secluded stoep to visit on. We enjoyed hiking in the area and the peaceful nature of the house. Everything was as described and there was enough clear communication about how to find the place, get in and make the most of the area.
