The space
Escape to the tranquil location of River Cottage, Ballinboy. This property is situated close to the Capital of Connemara, Clifden and the village of Ballyconneely, it's also within a short walking distance is Derrygimla looped walk.A welcome pack is provided with bread, milk, tea and coffee, biscuits. Fuel provided for the fire to get you started.
From the front door you enter a welcoming hallway in the centre of the cottage. Follow the hallway to the right past the first of 3 rooms and you enter into a beautifully decorated open plan living space with marble fireplace, antique mirror and artwork. The windows on three sides offer stunning views.
You will find comfy couches and a Smart Tv and a small library to enjoy. From the fireside seating area you go up two steps into a dining area with an eight seater oak dining table and chairs.
Off the dining area, there is a very well equipped kitchen with plenty of counter space and kitchen appliances which include a coffee maker, blender, food processor and a steamer/rice cooker.
From the dining area you enter a back porch which opens onto an attractive stone patio with glass panelling, stainless steel railings and patio furniture. A second patio to the front of the cottage catches the evening sun and is equipped with a fire pit/barbecue, table and chairs.
To the left on entering the cottage, you will find 2 double rooms – one en suite. There is also a family bathroom with a great power shower in the bath.
Triple room with a double & single bed.
Outside is a small shed with a washing machine & dryer. There is also space for storing bikes, surfboards, etc
There is a split-level living/dining area that could be hazardous for small children.

Linen & Towels are included in the rental rate.
Check-in time is from 4pm onwards (If you require a later check-in time please let us know)
Check-out time is 10 am on the day of departure.

Our stay at the River Cottage was perfect! We travelled with our 3 children and 2 dogs, and everything about the place made it easy. The cottage has lovely interiors, and the kitchen is well equipped, it really feels like a home from home. It’s also close to Clifden, so you’re never far from shops and supplies for whatever you need. There are some beautiful walks and beaches nearby too, perfect for exploring with the family and dogs. All communication with the host was quick and helpful throughout our stay. We loved our time here and would definitely book again.

The cottage we rented from Conamara Lettings was exactly what was described to us, only better. Clean, comfortable and everything that you would need. And our 2 small dogs were welcome too. A big plus. Communication was excellent and prompt. Overall, a very enjoyable stay i Conamara.

We enjoyed this large and very comfortable cottage for exploring Connemare enomously and everything was there that we needed and expected according to the description. Although directly below a street it is very quiet and cosy with two terrasses. The standard is very high and we can recommend without any hesitation the house for every group up to six persons (although we as a familiy were just four persons).

Unauthorised pets may result in the cancellation of your stay. 👶 Supervise Children Children are very welcome, but please supervise them at all times, especially around stairs, balconies, fireplaces, or outdoor features. 🛏️ Towels & Linens All towels and bedding are provided for your stay. Collection days and disposal details are listed in this guidebook. 🔐 Check-Out You must depart at the agreed time stated in this guidebook (usually 10am) Lock up and return keys to the lockbox or the housemanager 🔧 Damage or Breakages If anything breaks or is damaged, please let us know as soon as possible. Honest reporting helps us manage repairs quickly and fairly. Unreported issues may result in a charge. -
Before checkout
Empty bins and dispose of rubbish in the bins provided, or if otherwise instructed, Wash any used dishes or load and start the dishwasher. Turn off lights, heating, and any appliances. Ensure windows and doors are securely closed (especially Velux windows). Please return all keys to the key lockbox located outside the property (using the same code as check-in)

- Cleaning fees are always refunded if the reservation is cancelled before check-in.
