Clifden Town Centre oozes character, there are many pubs and restaurants in the area serving fine food, some specializing in locally caught seafood. Sessions of music, song, and dance are held nightly in most of the local pubs, where young and old, tourist and local, blend to create a unique atmosphere. A taxi ride to the town centre is less than €10.00.
Clifden town is a 25-minute walk or a 5-minute drive.
There are stunning beaches within a short drive from the cottage, and just a five-minute walk from a local, well-known swimming spot, that is perfect to swim in at high tide.

Sycamore Cottage is a spacious and comfortable home. Beds and bedding were very good. Heating was easy to operate and effective and the stove in the living room was cosy. The well-equipped kitchen had everything needed and was spacious enough for dinner for 10! Located on a quiet lane just a short drive or 30mins walk from Clifden. Water supply is somewhat restricted so short showers and no baths allowed. It did cut out during our stay but was reinstated later the same day. Requested by the agent to pay €400 deposit to the owner's personal bank account just before our stay. In my experience this is not usually within Airbnb policy but I checked with Airbnb but I didn't feel comfortable paying it because it's not clear on what basis it gets repaid. All in all we enjoyed our trip to this fabulous part of the world.

- For a full refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email).
- For a 50% refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel 7 full days before the listing's local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email), otherwise no refund will be given. If only 50% of the reservation has been paid, no refund will be issued and the remaining 50% will simply not be charged.
- If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent are not refunded.
- Cleaning fees are always refunded if the reservation is cancelled before check-in.
- Accommodation fees (the total nightly rate you’re charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.
