Beverley Homestead is the original, and still family-owned, historic farm house in the heart of Simbithi, once rolling sugar cane fields, now an exclusive and award-winning Eco-Estate. This characterful 5-bedroom house is set in a superb subtropical garden, shaded by massive indigenous trees, overlooking an inviting pool. Created by internationally-renowned floral artist Rosemary Ladlau, it is regarded as one of the great private gardens of South Africa.

BACK-UP POWER
In the event of power failures a gas hob for cooking is available inside and a gas braai is available outside
The inverter system will kick in automatically and this will last for about 24 - 48 hours depending on the use.

BEDROOMS
Bedroom One: Two single beds that can be converted to a king-bed when pushed together. Garden view, ceiling fan, air-con, open built in cupboards with shelves and hanging, dressing table, shared bathroom across the hallway with double basin, shower/bathtub combo and shared separate toilet. This bedroom offers a sleeper couch for two small children to sleep with parents.
Bedroom Two: Two single beds that can be converted to a king-bed when pushed together. Garden view, ceiling fan, air-con, open built in cupboards with shelves and hanging, dressing table, shared bathroom across the hallway with double basin, shower/bathtub combo and shared separate toilet.
Bedroom Three: King-size bed with garden view, ceiling fan, air-con, open built in cupboards with shelves and hanging space and en-suite with shower, open plan toilet and double basin and an outside shower.
Bedroom Four: King-size bed with garden view, ceiling fan, air-con, open built in cupboards with shelves and hanging, and private bathroom with shower, separate toilet, double basin and an outside shower. Sliding doors in the bedroom lead out to the garden with seating
Bedroom Five: King-size bed with garden view, ceiling fan, air-con, freestanding cupboard and en-suite with shower, open plan toilet and single basin. This bedroom is detached from the main house and has a private balcony.

Two single bed mattresses are available for two young kids.

Staff accommodation available for up two persons in the staff quarters with shared access to a communal shower and toilet.

2 Loads of laundry are included per day.

The following will be supplied and is included in your rental to ensure your arrival is comfortable: Toilet paper, dish-washing liquid, rubbish bags and basic cleaning equipment will be supplied during your stay, however, we do ask that guests supply their own washing powder and fabric softener for personal items.

Our stay this weekend was absolutely perfect! The place was even better than the pictures spacious, beautifully designed, and incredibly peaceful. There was so much privacy, and the layout made it ideal for a family getaway. The kids had the best time playing in the garden and swimming in the pool while we relaxed and soaked up the tranquility. Everything was spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully set up. It truly felt like a home away from home. We didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend this gem. we’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely loved our stay! The home was cosy, beautifully decorated, and truly felt like a home away from home. Everything was exactly as expected and even better. From the thoughtful touches to the comfortable spaces, it made our trip that much more special. My family and I built such wonderful memories here, and it’s now our go-to spot whenever we’re in Durban. Highly recommend!

Had an ok stay , the house was very spacious and beautiful , problem I had was with the house keeper Beatrice who wanted to clean the bedrooms at 07:30 am in the mornings and remained underfoot almost all day till late at night , when she chose she spoke English fluently but when it suited her she pretended to not understand us at all . She would walk into our bedrooms without knocking at all times during the day , when you walk out the bathroom she’s just there , when you changing she doesn’t knock on the closed bedroom door , was really upsetting. Then when we left she waited for a tip which we didn’t give as we weren’t t happy with her conduct . Then after returning home about a day ago I received an email from the host stating we had 5 undeclared guests at the house which I believe is just the housekeeper Beatrice being spiteful as she didn’t get her tip . Quite upset about the email

    Understanding and complying with our house rules will ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for everyone. Please treat our home with the same respect as you would your own. We’ve put a lot of effort into creating a lovely space for our guests to enjoy. BE RESPECTFUL The staff are key to a successful holiday and the efficient running of your holiday home. Please treat them with the utmost respect at all times. We will not tolerate any mistreatment of our staff. Regretfully, our staff are unable to babysit, wash cars, do shopping/unpack shopping, or perform tasks beyond their designated duties. OCCUPANCY The maximum number of persons occupying the unit at any time must not exceed the number of beds. A maximum of two guests per bedroom is allowed unless the homeowner has provided extra beds. Camping on the property is NOT permitted. DON’T FEED THE MONKEYS Under no circumstances should you feed the monkeys—whether adult or baby! Please be aware that monkeys are inquisitive and can become aggressive. Don’t leave fruit or food within their sight—they will come inside, create a mess, panic, and potentially break items. Close all windows and doors when leaving the house. NO SMOKING No smoking is permitted inside the house. Please smoke outside, away from windows or furniture. NO PARTIES Parties, overcrowding, or excessive noise are strictly prohibited. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in immediate eviction without a refund of rent. Guests will be liable for any damages incurred as a result of parties held at the rental home. BEACH TOWELS Please do not use bathroom towels at the beach. Beach towels are provided for this purpose. NO BEACH SAND IN THE POOL Wash off all sand before entering the house or pool after visiting the beach. Please do not rinse beach sand off in the pool. LEAVE AS FOUND Accidents happen, so please report any breakages or damage to our team. If anything is broken, it must be replaced “like for like” by the guest to ensure a full refund of the breakage deposit. BE ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS Use linen and towels sparingly. Please conserve water and electricity. Turn off fans and air conditioning when not in use. Recycle where possible—let’s care for our planet together. Do not flush foreign materials down the toilet. GUEST AMENITIES POLICY We kindly request that all guest amenities, such as hand wash and toiletries, remain on the property for the enjoyment of future guests. Should any items be taken or removed, the cost of replacement will be charged in full. FIREWORKS PROHIBITED For the safety of all guests and neighbours, fireworks are strictly prohibited on the property. DEPARTURE DAY Check-out is at or before 10 am.  Please comminicate your check out time with our team or the house staff the day prior to departure. KEYS Please make sure you leave any keys & remotes with the staff, or communicate with us where you left the keys. LEAVING EARLY? Please switch off all lights, and airconditioning, and close all windows.  STAFF OVERTIME PAYMENT Please remember to settle any money owing to the staff (overtime, additional laundry, tips etc.) must be paid directly to each staff member in (ZAR) cash.
