We had a great stay. The house is beautiful and spacious, with plenty of room for the three of us. We especially loved the upstairs area, which was the perfect place to sit and watch the sunset in the evenings. The location was excellent, close to the V&A Waterfront, the city centre and plenty of great restaurants. We actually ended up walking to most places when we went out for dinner, which was really convenient. Overall, a lovely house in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

We absolutely loved our stay at Denis’ place. The location is one of our favorites, being in De Waterkant, close to yoga, Cape Quarter, grocery stores, and restaurants. The house is an architectural gem, beautifully furnished and comfortable. Host team was responsive and addressed any messages we had. 20/10 would visit again!

Overall, we had a very nice stay. The house was clean and comfortable, the views from the roof were great, the beds were comfortable, and the location in de waterkant was very convenient . The kitchen was very well equipped. We would recommend it and we would consider staying here again. We did have trouble with the heating. It failed on the 2nd night & it turned out there was a preexisting problem with the system that required a backordered part. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time.

We had a wonderful stay at Denis’s place. The house is spacious and bright, with large windows overlooking the beautiful surroundings, which made it feel even more open and relaxing. We loved this property, which was aesthetically pleasing, tastefully decorated and practical. We were a family of five, including three teenagers. The view of Taffelbjeget was spectacular. Perfect with a little padding on the top. There is also a lovely outdoor area on the mezzanine level, and a superb kitchen and dining area in one with plenty of space. Lovely rooms with three toilets/showers and a wonderful outdoor shower on the ground floor, surrounded by trees. We would 100% like to stay there again another time. The area right next to the property also felt safe. Good bars, cafés and restaurants, as well as a supermarket, are nearby.

I stayed at the house with a group of friends, and we enjoyed our time there immensely. The home features a modern, open design with a stylish and thoughtfully curated interior. We had an exceptional stay in Cape Town. There were six of us, and the home was beautifully designed, spacious, and impeccably maintained. We were very comfortable staying at Denis's place. The location is probably better suited for adults than for kids, that said, our kids had a blast staying there. I think the staircase feeling a little scary was a hit with the kids because it felt like an adventure every time they climbed up and down it. We didn't end up using the pool because it was quite deep for the little ones, so something to note if you're traveling with kids. It's also open to the elements, so you may need to fish things out if you want to use it beforehand. The washer and dryer came in very handy for our group. The bedrooms were all comfortable and having AC at night during the hot summertime was much appreciated. As far as walkability, we were able to go out at night with the kids, felt safe, there's private security around as well. The kitchen was very well furnished with all the things needed to prepare meals and have a lovely coffee in the morning. Thanks again for letting us stay!

Four friends had an excellent six day stay at the apartment. The apartment is trendy and quirky, with all required facilities. Probably not good for children as the staircases are rather open. Also would be great to have a welcome pack describing the house facilities and also with some tourist information

We’ve travelled the world, and stayed in many different Airbnb’s. This lovely 4 storied home is by far and away the best we have ever stayed in. Clean, tidy, spacious, and with an unbeatable view of Table Mountain. Parking was quite convenient, with resident parking in the street, or underground secure parking nearby. While you are here, do yourself a favour and treat yourself to the Gold Restaurant, such amazing African entertainment and food.

We stayed in the place for 14 days, 2 couples. We very much enjoyed our time. The house matches the description, is beautifully designed and well maintained. The outside area is well-thought trough, provides sun-protection when sitting outside and offers amazing views over Cape Town and Table Mountain. The house offers 3 bedrooms distributed over 3 floors. A bit of a negative is that although you can close the doors, privacy can be an issue as it is not fully sound proof. Lightning could be better in the bathrooms, but design won over. The service was great, cleaning excellent and the pool was well maintained. The surroundings are great, plenty of coffee places for an easy breakfast, bars and supermarket nearby. Easy to go for a morning run to Green Point and Sea Point. We loved it and highly recommend the place. Thank you.

The place was very well maintained and clean. The location in de Waterkant was also excellent and you can explore Cape Town from here! There were six of us staying there. What we noticed negatively is lack of privacy in the accommodation. It's very tight and there are only sliding doors. The showers in two of the rooms are also not optimal and the whole bathroom is wet after showering. We imagined the place differently and larger based on the pictures (e.g. the pool was very small) Still, we had a great time but would not come back from the value for money.

Feel-good oasis and interesting architecture in one. The house in Waterkantstreet impresses with its skilful combination of old Bo-Kaap building fabric and modern exposed concrete. Many plants are used, both in the spacious kitchen-living room, on the roof terrace and in the atrium landscaped over all levels. Plant lovers will enjoy here. The location offers within walking distance cafes, restaurants and a large supermarket. Waterfront could also be reached in 25 minutes. We felt very comfortable as a family with two large children and can definitely recommend the accommodation

We had a great, easy, comfortable stay at Denis's place. It had a lot of space which was great, especially because my daughter wasn't feeling well and she was able to stay to herself in the nice big basement room with the bathroom. The view of Table Mountain was awesome, and being able to walk right to restaurants and coffee shops nearby was so nice. We had a terrific stay!

Pros: This is a beautiful apartment with a stunning rooftop terrace offering breathtaking views of Table Mountain and the colorful houses nearby. The location is convenient, with everything you need nearby, and the area feels relatively safe. The hosts were very friendly and quick to respond. Cons: The bathroom (shower and sink) and some of the furniture was a bit too fancy, meaning it was very cool but not as practical or comfortable. However, this was not an issue. All in all: I can recommend this apartment in Cape Town, and I would stay here again!

The host is located in a safe area, the room is also more suitable for small groups to travel. It is not far from sea point camps bay v&A. You can get a taxi. You can make a simple meal. However, there are some seasonings that have expired for a long time, the host has not been replaced in time, the room does not have shower gel shampoo, it needs to be brought by yourself, the security is very good, and in general, it is good.

The location was great, close to V&A waterfront and near to lots of nice cafes and restaurants. Supermarket was just a street away too. The neighborhood felt really safe too, with security personnel patrolling the area. The views on the roof top were amazing. Will recommend the house to families with no young children as some areas of the house might not be safe for younger kids and toddlers eg the stairway.

The place itself was extremely clean and very nice/beautiful. The owners replied in a very timely manner and were always helpful. The location is great, close to all the places we wanted to visit. The view from the roof deck was spectacular. Also halfway through, they came and cleaned, gave us new towels and made the beds which was amazing. I would definitely recommend staying here! Amazing location and you can’t beat the rooftop views. Very clean and well kept. Spacious on the inside and very very stylishly designed home. You can tell Denis pays lots of attention to detail. Rooftop pool is worth it and the place is walkable to the waterfront in 15-20 mins. Definitely recommend staying here

I would definitely recommend this lovely townhouse. The location is excellent, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. The area is quite safe. The space is thoughtfully decorated and there is a lot of communal indoor and outdoor space. The view from the pool terrace is stunning. The hosts are very responsive both before and during your stay. AND, if you stay a week they offer to clean the place midway through your stay. There are a few things to keep in mind. Sound travels easily - especially if the windows are open. Two of the bathrooms are wet room style, squeegees are provided for post shower clean up. I would defiantly stay here again. The hosts were great, the location is fantastic, and the home is very well appointed.

We felt very comfortable. The house was designed by an artist. Incredibly clever room layout with a great deal of attention to detail. We always had a parking space in front of the house and a supermarket about 200 metres away. The small rooftop pool was also very nice. Highly recommended. The landlords were very accommodating and helpful. You could tell that the property isn’t an investment opportunity, but that a lot of passion goes into it. The property is clean, comfortable and has everything you might need. I liked the design, the art pieces and the finer details and touches. The house and neighbourhood was amazing! We were within 5-10 minute drive to everything. The street was also beautiful- lined with colourful homes. The house itself was very artsy and spacious. The lighting wasn’t the best in the basement bedroom (probably only matters for girls who need good lighting for makeup!) Loved the outdoor shower downstairs though. The upstairs bathroom shower did not drain well and water was permantly all over the bathroom floor because of this. Overall, would give the property a 7/10.

What a special place! Denis and Nathan put so much care into the design and the result is so special - the ultimate mix of old and new. Definitely the most unique place we have ever stayed! We loved the location and tried several of the nearby cafes. The rooftop pool was amazing, as were the views. Everything was so clean and the instruction book they left was so helpful. While Denis and Nathan warned that their place was not kid-friendly our 11 and 9-year olds were just fine.

Enjoyed staying in this lovely townhouse. Close to the waterfront and downtown, with a grocery store and restaurants within walking distance. It’s well decorated and felt posh but comfortable. The only mild issue is that noise travels throughout the place, so if you’re in the guest bathroom you can still hear a conversation from the living room. With that said I would definitely still recommend this for travelers visiting cape town on work or vacation.

The house has a modern style, very good design, perfectly equipped with everything you would need. Comfortably fits 6 persons. Denis and his team are well organized, good communication. This place is not ideal for long stays or working travellers. Cellphone and wifi connection was problematic as the signal was poor. Host communication was bad and we constantly had to follow up via WhatsApp to get a response. We booked the place because of the pool however we were unable to use it because the host had scheduled maintenance which took more than 2 weeks to complete. In that 2 weeks we were unable to use the pool. We were not notified of this maintenance before booking and were inconvenienced. Took another week to get the pool cleaned. The were insufficient cleaning materials for the dishwasher and the washing machine, we would’ve bought them ourselves but these required specific pods which we struggled to find at the local Grocery store. We also had to buy our own toilet paper after week 2. Overall the neighbourhood is convenient, safe and a 30minutes brisk walk to the promenade. Linen and towels were of good quality and the beds were very comfortable.

I strongly recommend Deni’s house to anyone! I stayed there with three friends as we were working remotely in Cape Town (the wifi is top notch). The house was above and beyond expectations: beautifully decorated, sparkling clean, there’s lots of space indoor/outdoor and you can’t beat the location in Waterkant. Fantastic place, beautifully appointed with the best locality and the most fantastic sunset deck. Wow, wow, wow!!! A fantastically beautiful cottage with a central location on the waterfront. This is the perfect base for all excursions. The property is exactly as shown in the photos. Each bedroom is on a different floor, so you can always have some privacy. The bathrooms are modern, and there is one for each room. The pool on the roof terrace is an absolute highlight! Denis and Cherly go to great lengths to make you feel completely at home. We received prompt and satisfactory assistance in all matters. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our holiday. Stunning architectural townhouse on the most desired street in De Waterkant. We enjoyed a week in Denis’ home and were so impressed with the many thoughtful touches. The rooftop pool, outdoor zen garden and shower, sliding glass walls, rain showers, and built in barbecue are just a few architectural features that make this property so special. Not to mention sweeping views of Table Mountain, as well as the V&A Waterfront’s New Year’s Eve fireworks, from the rooftop. Walking distance to quaint cafes and restaurants, as well as the Cape Quarter shops. The hosts went out of their way to make sure that our check-in was smooth and to respond to our needs throughout the stay. One of the best in Cape Town!

Wonderfully cool and stylish house in an amazing location. The local cafes, restaurants, and art galleries are right on your doorstep. As a big coffee drinker, i fell in love with the coffee from Origin Coffee Roasters around the corner. Views of table mountain and the surrounding area from the rooftop were amazing. Even though the place was in the city , it was super quiet inside so great for getting a good nights rest after busy day in the city. All bathrooms have rainfall showers which i love , and really nice amenities to use also. Would definitely stay here again if it's available next time i come.

Well what can I say? An absolutely incredible stay, easily the most memorable place I’ve stayed in beautiful Cape Town. The entire house is filled with fantastic little touches, from an amazing outdoor shower, shrouded by beautiful trees, to a beautiful solid wood dining table fit for a feast! Denis and Cheryl were wonderful hosts, very attentive and welcoming. They made sure we had everything we needed and were very quick to respond if we had a query. The use of space throughout is genius, you can tell that there is a professional architect and interior designer behind this home. In living and sleeping areas it was cosy and private and in the social areas it was bright, open and exceptionally well stocked. We had some wonderful dinners using the indoor braai and a great time by the pool. The location in De Waterkant is perfect for a sense of security and for reaching places further afield. In addition there are brilliant amenities on your doorstep at Cape Quarter. We were able to stock up on groceries at Spar and had some great breakfasts at Bootlegger. I’m running out of superlatives for this home, so I will wrap it up by saying that I will undoubtedly be back again to stay - hopefully for even longer. Thank you Denis and Cheryl!

The house is centrally located in Cape Town Waterkant, not far from downtown and in close proximity to Bo Kaap. About 20 minutes to the waterfront. Walking distance. So, the perfect starting point for exploring Cape Town. The facilities are of a very high standard; everything you need is available. There were six of us here, and we felt at home from the very first moment.

Great location. Beautiful home. Unfortunately, the shower facilities in the bathrooms are a disaster. After each shower, make yourself ready to wipe down the complete bathroom as water splashes everywhere. Water actually runs out of the one bathroom into the hallway. Slippery floors : disaster waiting to happen. I usually do not complain about trivial things, but the bathroom experience left a bitter taste in the mouth for our travel party.

Denis’s house is beautiful and architecturally so unique! It is located in a great neighborhood near some cool bars and cafes. We loved our stay and the hosts Cheryl and Nathan were more than accommodating with our changing schedules and even let us check in very late on our last day. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean and quiet but also right next door to some cool shops, cafes, galleries and even a live music place. We would highly recommend staying here.

Yes, yes, yes! This is an incredible place right in the middle of Cape Town. The house was perfect for our family (2 adults and 2 teens) and we loved everything about it. The house is super stylish and has been designed to a very high standard.There is literally nothing not to like. Great location within walking distance of the waterfront and lots of bars and restaurants nearby. We have stayed in numerous Airbnb’s around the world and this is my favourite so far. Communication with Denis was very easy and timely and we had a smooth check in and check out. Would love to have stayed for longer and will definitely be back.

This is an exceptional property. The architecturally designed house makes for a very stylish base in the heart of Cape Town’s vibrant Waterkant neighbourhood. Easy to spend too much time in the property, rather than seeing sights of Cape Town!! There are an abundance of great restaurants, cafes and bars in easy walking distance. Both Origin Coffee Roasting and Chefs Warehouse & Canteen are highly recommended. Denis was a generous host with a good selection of high quality kitchen and bathroom products provided, including some very nice wine. We will definitely stay at this property again next time we are in Cape Town.

This place and host is as good as it gets on Airbnb. We had a wonder time in this home which was very well stocked with cooking and bathroom items, excellent linen and towels and amazing tips and tricks in a small booklet on how to get the most out of the place. I would strongly recommend this place to people who haven't been to Cape Town before or regulars who love the area and want more of a home than a holiday rental.

Denis’s place is very stylish, large and clean and has all the basic amenities (plus a pool). The location is great - close to downtown and Bo Kaap, with some good restaurants and cafes close by. His property manager was friendly and super responsive. There is a lot of construction in Cape Town, including the house next door - just something to be aware of if you plan to sleep in late. But all in all, I enjoyed the stay.

This is a really great house/home in a very nice neighborhood with many restaurants within walking distance. The house is very comfortable and exactly as in the pictures. We really loved staying here and it is a great homebase for exploring Capetown. Beds are comfortable, a bathroom for every bedroom. Four of us colleagues stayed for a week in Denis's apartment (with Nathan as our contact person). They are very caring and attentive hosts. We had little surprises in the fridge when we arrived! Nothing but happiness. The equipment of the apartment is very high flight and the layout is extra. Very modern with excellent spaces, wood and concrete that gives a super modern look. It was such a pleasure to come back around 5 pm and enjoy the terrace and the pool roof! Nothing to say... Otherwise, thank you!

84 Waterkant is amazing - it gave us the perfect Capetown- Feeling and we loved every minute there! And lovely cafes just across the street that serve breakfast, too! When you sit in either of the cafes you look at the pool up on the roof of No.84 and think: „yaaa, I might have a little swim after that coffee“ :-))) Actually 24 hours a day is not enough to enjoy the city AND the house, we could have easily stayed there longer than 4 days...

Just as described, and would absolutely stay there again or recommend it to friends. Absolutely loved our stay here. The roof deck was a huge bonus - great to watch sunrise or hang out in the afternoon. We took advantage of the pool which was another great perk. The location was ideal and the neighborhood offered lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Our hosts even left a bottle of champagne and some snacks for our arrival which was appreciated. And I received a midweek check-in text just to make sure everything was going smoothly. The 5 of us all loved our stay here and want to return to the city. I would stay here again if I come back!

We loved the space and quickly settled in to life in the city. Location was perfect. We were lucky enough to be able to experience First Thursday on nearby Bree Street, which was great. It was nice to be able to walk to great bars and restaurants. Mother's Ruin (a gin bar) and Culture Club (a great cheese restaurant) were particular favourites. We would love to return some day.

A superb, hip, nattily designed and fun place to stay. Our children aged 8 and 10 adored it too - especially the outdoor shower and roof pool. We supervised them when using this and the stairs would rule out toddlers but for children the age of ours this was a terrific place to stay. We loved staying here - a very stylish home which was also VERY comfortable. The area felt safe and we really enjoyed local cafes and bars - especially the live music at the Piano Bar. Occasionally parking was tricky but usually it was no problem. I would very strongly recommend others to stay here. As the owner clearly states, the property is not suitable for young children due to stair ways and bedrooms on both floors opening onto the courtyard

A great cafe for breakfast is a few meters away. The house has a great combination of modern with traditional elements. The roof terraces with pool complete a great look. Denis' accomodation is an amazing place. All on his cottage is perfect. It is very stylish and architectural a dream. It was very clean and we felt very welcome. The location is perfect. You have a great view from the terasse of the City for example of Downtown and the Table Mountain. It is very central and you can reach all the sights of Cape Town easily. This house is amazing! The description of the object is definitely understated. The furnishings and equipment is more than just nice. The bathrooms are breathtaking and you always find something knew inside the house (shower outside or the data projector as a TV :))! It was really clean when we arrived ;) and we got a bottle of wine and coffee as a welcome gift. The neighbourhood is very nice and you feel really safe. There are a lot of securities in the streets (day and night). The people around are more than friendly and give help in every situation. It´s the perfect place to enjoy such a nice city with your friends. The citylife is next to the door. Long Street is just 5 Minutes by foot with all the nice little shops and bars. This house is on a great street close to some cool nightlife, restaurants and shopping. It is very modern...almost a piece of art...and fun to hand out in. It is not a place for kids...open stairways, roof access, etc. We rented a car and never had trouble finding a parking spot close to the house. Communication: The management company was great at helping us before the trip with basic local destination information along with house items. We were greeted in person and given a tour of the house upon arrival. Amenities: We stay in a lot of Airbnb homes and this one was packed with stuff you need: towels, coffee, utensils, soap, shampoo, lotion, etc. They had a bottle of wine, fresh milk, starter coffee pods and some great oranges when we arrived. Location: As I said, this street was great. It is a quiet street with high end homes. It looks like most are lived in by locals. We walked to breakfast and shopping when we stayed around town. Driving to and from was easy and we Ubered to dinner several nights. Things Denis should improve: While I would stay in this house again, there are a couple of things we suggest changing. The bathrooms are not built for ladies. They are a little dark, the showers caused water to spill over on to the bathroom floor, there were no outlets to plug in our hairdryer/straighteners in front of the mirror. Not a huge deal but a pain for the ladies. In summary, Denis and team did a great job and this is a great house!

Everything was perfect. The perfect place to stay for 3 couples or 6 friends in Cape Town (3 bedrooms each with one bathroom). The neighborhood is friendly and quite safe. Magnificent views of Table Mountain and Cape City City. Shopping (food, clothes, etc.) and cafes/restaurants/bars are close. The house was bigger than expected and very nicely decorated. You can tell the architect ... only for children under 10-12 years of age and (older) people with difficulty climbing stairs, it may not be recommended, as the stairs are very open and it goes down quite steeply on the side. Wifi worked very well.

The apartment is in a nice environment with super markets and restaurants just around the corner, which is convenient.Especially the kitchen is fully equipped, so if you want to cook food, you can do it!Getting out and calling uber to the attractions is also very quick, and the most important thing is that the host is very nice. If you have any problems, you can also find him at any time, I highly recommend it!

I cannot speak highly enough about the property or the experience. The house is located perfectly, restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping are all conveniently near by. The house is spectacular. Artfully arranged and decorated, comfortable and well thought out. Dennis was highly accommodating and a pleasure to work with. If you're going to be in Cape Town, stay here.

denis house is just stunning! besides the fact that is beautiful furnished a soon as I stepped in I felt home! the neighborhood is surrounded by amazing cafes and restaurants! denis it self is very lay down and super funny and nice! thank u for having us!

As a big fan of architecture I had an impressive and excellent stay at Denis Waterkant cottage with my friends. What he made out of this former historic house is incredible. So many space, light and openness really gives you the opportunity to relax in the middle of capetown. De waterkant is a really nice spot with nice bars and restaurants. Carmen of the property management did an excellent job taking care for our stay there.

Easy interaction. quick to respond. I made the mistake of requesting to extend my stay, getting confirmation from the owner, but then not booking it on the website. I suggest if you make any suggestions, extend it on the website and pay for the room. An incredible spot. We could not have asked for more. Beautiful accommodation in a vey safe area. Went for runs daily without a hitch. Divine restaurants close by...no need for transport. Incredibly close to supermarket and shopping centre. Walking distance to town, sea point and waterfront. Hands down the best place I have stayed in on airbnb! Seamless transition in and out of property. Internet can be temperamental...common problem for South Africa. Thanks Denis.

The pictures don't do it justice. Awesome place and great central location with some cool spots for food and drinks within a 5 minute vicinity. Definitely recommend and looking forward to visiting again sometime in the not too distant future!

Fantastic house in a fantastic neighbourhood. Cheryl welcomed us extremely well and was there if we needed anything. The house itself is wonderful, with plenty of space for all the family and we loved the pool on the roof. Lots of cafes and shops right on the doorstep.

Denis' home is absolutely stunning--modern sleek and elegant with extraordinary attention to detail. My husband and daughter loved the pool and I so appreciated the view and minimalist yet comfortable interior design. When I realized there were four different ways of making coffee, I knew we had found the perfect place, and the neighborhood--Waterkant village--must be one of the most beautiful areas of Cape Town. We immediately signed into the Yoga studio down the block. Denis and Cheryl were so helpful and forthcoming throughout, we can't thank them enough. Now we just have to find a way to return, for a month, at least!

Booking with Denis was an easy experience, he is extremely communicative and quick to respond. We found the house to have some very positive aspects, a great pool and decking with fantastic views of table mountain. Each room was spacious with a nice feel - and is a great house for a stay with friends. We had some minor issues with one of the amenities, but this was quickly resolved by the managing agent, who was just a whatsapp message away. The waterkant area is a fantastic hub with some great cafes, restaurants and bars all within walking distance making the location of the house a bonus. It was also very thoughtful to have been left some provisions to get us started when we first arrived - a nice touch. Thank you!

Everything I have to say about this cottage is incredibly positive. The cottage is stunning! The decor, furniture, design, architecture, layout - everything is fantastic and stylish. Although it looks like a small cottage from the front, it is incredibly spacious with rooms on many different levels giving a great feeling of space even if there are a few of you staying here. Furnishings were beautiful, beds comfy, lots of white fluffy towels and lovely products in the bathrooms and the whole house was immaculately clean. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was a joy to open the fridge to find fresh fruit and fizz! Thanks Denis!! The rooftop deck and pool is absolutely stunning and the view of Table Mountain breathtaking. The neighbourhood around the cottage is just fantastic - amazing cafes, bars, restaurants and shops all within walking distance. The nearest cafe which does amazing breakfast and lunch was literally 45 seconds walk. And the whole neighbourhood felt very safe. Denis was an amazing host, very responsive, friendly and easy to deal with. Cheryl, our contact in Cape Town was fantastic to deal with too - very helpful and friendly. All in all I cannot fault this place at all and I am already planning my next trip! Thanks Denis - just perfect!

The arrival experience was good. The home, more beautiful than the pictures showed. Wonderful, luxurious and sociable home for holidaying. The area fantastic, vibrant and conveniently located. Unfortunately a couple of requests where not followed up on and the departure experience was not good. Despite these teething issues on the managing agent's part, I would still highly recommend De Waterkant for a great Cape Town stay.

Teal house is an absolute gem ! We spent new year here and the location is great and the pool on the roof the envy of the street. It was unusually hot and the pool was well used. Special thanks goes to Cheryl who hand delivered the shoes I left in the wardrobe to a friend so I'd get them in Joburg for the wedding we were attending - above and beyond help much appreciated. Look forward to staying here when we return to Cape Town !
