The house was absolutely great. Spotlessly clean and had everything we needed within.
Situated so close to the Points of Interest such as Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne, Berwick upon Tweed, Seahouses etc.
WIFI was really hit and miss. Roads close by were narrow and more like tracks which could be a bit of a mission in the dark and rain though very little traffic to contend with to be fair

Huge bedroom and lounge for 2, well heated, quiet, parking. Welcome milk. Super clean. Kitchen well equipped. Very calming vibe. Amazing location for everything within 30 min drive.
Older people may struggle with bathroom downstairs from bedroom. Curtain needed over back door. Hooks in bedroom for robes? Shower door a bit temperamental. WiFi poor.

Loved the large bedroom, the colour scheme in all the cottage, liked having the washer /dryer available. The decking was great- though only got to use it once due to bad weather!
Only having freeview as tv package! If weather had been better it might not have mattered as much. An ice box would have been good- too far to keep going to the freezer in the laundry room for ice for drinks! This is first cottage we've stayed in without a welcome pack- but we're grateful for bottle of milk.

That the hosts offered damage / insurance cover. Told us that it was refundable than refused to refund and stated it was our option to take it - that was not explained before paying.

A very comfortable cottage for two. Comfy bed, nice warm bathroom and very clean throughout.
Nothing really. kitchen is quite small but adequate. Freezer is in an out building along with a washing machine..but not an issue as long as it's not raining!

Great sized shower and well-appointed bathroom. Laundry facilities were clean. Lovely quiet and picturesque location.
The unexpected extra charge for insurance after the booking was paid months in advance of our stay. The constant emails reminding us that damages would be charged if there was any damage or if the property was not left tidy when we left. It took the shine off the stay. Suggestion would be to clearly mark out the parking spaces for the 3 cottages as we returned several times over the course of the week to find other guests parking in the middle and not leaving enough space for 3 cars to park.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and cosy. The cottage is tastefully decorated with every amenity you could possibly need catered for. It is extremely comfortable and set in a very peaceful location but it is a little isolated.
There is no upstairs bathroom/toilet facilities.

Nice quiet cottage , we spent most of the time out walking etc , good base , poor Wi-Fi but that didn’t bother me .
Plenty of towels etc , we didn’t cook but I’m sure it’s possible .
Management is dire ! I won’t book again for that reason, was told 12 hrs before check in I had to pay another £25 waiver fee or else I couldn’t have access code ! Good job I phoned 3 times & spoke to rude individuals or else we wouldn’t be able to enter ! I’ve read many a complaint regarding this but no action taken , so avoid Host & Stay

Locations was great, near to lots of lovely places.
Host & Stay were very annoying, too many emails and asking for damage waiver just before the holiday which wasn’t mentioned at time of booking and they keep the deposit even when you don’t break anything, so for this reason we would not stay again

Spacious, very comfortable, well equipped and particularly quiet.
The damage waiver was a pain, particularly as the browser wouldn't recognise the link.Too much precious time expended on this which was only of benefit to the owner.

We loved everything about our stay at Tulip cottage.
The cottage itself was spotless and very well kitted out with everything we needed for our self catering stay.
The location was beautiful, sitting on the decking with nothing but the sound of the birds and a nearby stream was so relaxing and tranquil.
The cottage itself was close to several very impressive historical sights some of which we visited during our stay.
We cannot fault Tulip cottage or our hosts, we thoroughly enjoyed our short break infact we would have loved to stay for longer.
Everything was perfect thankyou.

We were hoping for a holiday where we could relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We certainly got that. Tulip Cottage is set in a tranquil and beautiful location but only minutes away from fantastic castles and amazing coastline. With new furnishings literally delivered while we were there, we found everything comfortable and clean plus well equipped kitchen. The downstairs bathroom took a little getting used to especially in the night. We would definitely go back to the cottage and the region.

The bathroom was modern. Patio area was pleasant.
Small kitchen. VERY isolated location, which we were not made aware of. Cobwebs on the stair ceiling and behind bathroom door. Kitchen waste bin was half full of the last tenants. Lack of storage space for food. Disliked the number of messages bombarded with from Host and stay. Also disliked having to,pay £25 2 weeks before our trip for any damages - I feel this was included in the initial payment and a money maker for Host and Stay.
Booking.com please be aware of this. I use booking.com regularly but won’t use Host and Stay again if you are selling them

Property had a few 'wear and tear' fixes that needed doing ie. leaking window in bathroom & cold water tap in kitchen but on the whole, I would stay again as it was lovely.
The Hosts "Host & Stay". A nightmare volume of emails asking for information that was already clearly on the original Booking. Like, what's my email address, what's my phone number and a whole load more that really became very frustrating.
Being told after the booking that I needed to pay another £25 for insurance wasnt good either!
I dont rate this company at all !

Quiet and peaceful location. Lovely bedroom and bathroom
Having to pay damage deposit and then getting charged a £10 admin fee to pay it! No freezer compartment in fridge, no storage for food in kitchen. Needs some maintenance, window catches broken, shower door doesn’t close properly, needs clearly marked parking bays.

Incorrect info on website compare to facilities in cottage ; uncomfortable seating in lounge ; very steep stairs to upstairs bedroom and no toilet upstairs - which we didn’t know from booking ; single track road we didn’t expect to be so long

Beautiful peaceful location. The staff were fantastic when I stupidly lost the key. Calm, professional, friendly and resourceful. What had been a possible disaster in an otherwise perfect stay, was wonderfully handled in rather difficult circumstances. Can't speak too highly of the entire experience. Highly recommend Tulip Cottage.
Not at all a complaint, but the toilet is on the ground floor and the bedroom is on the first. For limber travellers there's no problem at all. We're in our 60s/70s and had no difficulty either, but if you have any mobility issues the stairs could be a bit of a problem. Beware. Bedroom and bathroom are beautiful, by the way as is the rest of the cottage

Booked through Airbnb. Lounge, Bathroom, Bedroom very spaces and comfortable. . Kichen was a little tight for catering and there was nowhere to put foot other than the fridge. The gardens were well maintained with parking for one car. Note for anyone booking through Airbnb : It is host and stays terms and conditions which includes either additional insurance or a damage deposit.

Good shower (would have liked higher water pressure) but lovely towels and robes, Heated towel rail. Good size sitting room with TV. Location good for Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne etc. Large bedroom, upstairs, Kitchen with microwave, oven and fridge, sufficient for two persons. Nice to have a pint of milk in frdge on arrival, also a little coffee, tea and sugar. Balcony fine in good weather.
Received entry key info only on morning of arrival, whilst I was travelling, by email which difficult to receive on arrival in poor reception zone 3G. Why not also via text? No 'info' paper/booklet for house wi-fi password (I phoned Ryan morning after arrival) nor for info re. recycling. Washing machine in laundry across yard, also freezer. Stairs a little steep.

Beautiful, quiet and secluded location. Great kitchen and bathroom amenities. Spacious cottage with comfortable bed. Only a short 6 minute drive to Bamburgh Castle and nearby cafés/restaurants, and 25 minute drive to Lindisfarne Holy Island.
Cottage was very clean, but due to the location there were some dead bugs near the windows and moths that fly around, here and there.
The bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs, which was a little annoying in the middle of the night.

Peaceful location. Fresh linens and towels. Easy check in and out.
Narrow track to access. The house needs a top to bottom clean to get rid of spiders and webs in all rooms. Needs oven gloves providing and a few basic condiments. Sofa cushions had a dusty smell.

A few small problems that could have easily been corrected like the bathroom door latch being faulty, some of the to roller blinds not working and no general information about the cottage in the folder.

This is a real gem if you want peace and nature. Very comfortable cottage with excellent amenities and although it’s secluded, it is very well situated to explore the area…it’s such a beautiful place to stay.

Absolutely brilliant stay at Tulip cottage, great location, very clean and spacious, just what you need for a break away. Thank you very much to Sandra who turned up on Wednesday, my birthday, with a card and a bottle of prosecco, so very kind and much appreciated, who was working considering it was also her birthday. Would definitely recommend and will be returning 😊
We were sent the wrong key code. Fortunately, Sandra came and saved the day 😊

The WiFi wasn't working, but that actually might be a positive as it forced us to have a break from our phones.

Breakfast not included - self-catering
Brilliant location to reach everywhere we planned to visit
Bathroom was the best room in the cottage, clean and with under flor heating
We were given the wrong pin code for the keys (in a lock box). It was by chance that cleaner was leaving as we arrived. Cottage was surface clean, needs thorough clean, high and low level for cobwebs. As does the cooker which I avoided using.. Started to clean (greasy) then decided not to use at all.
After a couple of days I requested clean tea towel(s)by email to Host & Stay, emailed back to say no-one available to deliver, use the washing machine.....(to wash one tea towel), I was shocked. Suggest equip sufficiently in future.

Beautiful countryside location, very quiet with stream running at the bottom of the garden. Close to Bamburgh and Seahouses to enable visits to Farne Islands and Lindisfarne. Clean and well modernised property.
Broken kitchen tap - other guests note this has been like it for months. Not a difficult problem to sort!!

Tulip Cottage is a lovely traditional stone cottage in a group of similar cottages on a quiet lane about 10 minutes drive from Bamburgh. You can walk in to the town in about an hour via country lanes - longer if you use footpath across the fields. The property is nicely designed and decorated with a spacious comfortable living/dining room with large flat screen TV; two sofas and small dining table and chairs. The bathroom/toilet is roomy and nicely decorated with a good shower in a large shower cubicle. There are plenty of lovely towels and a touch of luxury with nice towelling bathrobes. The bedroom is the only upstairs room and is very large with a comfy bed and sufficient wardrobe and storage space. You enter the property through the kitchen which is quite small (one person cooking at a time here) but well equipped with cooker/oven, fridge, cutlery, pans etc. We were provided with a pint of milk which was appreciated. There is a shared freezer in the laundry room across the courtyard - where there is also a shared washing machine/tumble dryer. Remember to bring your own powder.
The heating is good, with electric radiators in all rooms, and easy to control. There's sufficient, easy parking. We also enjoyed the outdoor patio with table and chairs, best when the sun reaches it in the evening.
Overall, a nice cottage in a good location; reasonable value-for-money; mostly well managed and with most things that a couple would need. We would stay again, particularly if the issues below were sorted out.
The kitchen sink tap was one of the worst we have ever come across - very stiff and in need of urgent replacement/repair. Please sort this out Host and Stay - it's a simple thing to do!! The wi-fi is non existent - even if you eventually work out how to connect to the 'server'. If you might need wi-fi because of urgent family or work issues, do not book this cottage. The 'local information' in the cottage about nearby eateries and facilities was very limited, showed little knowledge of the area and was very out of date anyway (e.g. The Mizen is not a great place to eat, it is a building site and has been closed for ages!). This is the kind of thing the owners must sort out if they are to achieve their stated goals of 'becoming a leading provider'.

Lovely quiet location, comfortable and warm. Was bigger than we thought it would be. The bed was very comfortable. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was a nice touch and it was nice to have robes to use too. Was lovely sitting on the decking with a cuppa, watching and listening to the birds and the stream below. Nice chilled, few days away. Thank you!
The kitchen tap did not work properly and we could not get any hot water from it. Had to boil the kettle to wash up. Not the best with current price rises. Going by the visitor book, the tap has been noted as requiring attention a few times.
