very cosy cottage. (as in comfortable, unit a lot bigger than expected)
furniture and bed really comfortable.
kitchen immaculate and we'll equipped.
large bath sheets lovely.
bit confused by TV... only live tv available, despite netflix etc on the screen.
only down side is the slow shower, that changes temperature.

Location, parking and comfort
Showering facilities. You daren’t touch the controls during the shower. Went either piping hot or freezing cold.
WiFi was non existent. .22mps not even enough to power up social media, let along stream anything on Netflix. Shame as the tv’s are smart with streaming apps built in.

Good location. Very quiet. Rural. Close to many attractions. Well stocked kitchen and many thoughtful touches.
We had to phone up for a key box code the day before arriving, as we weren't sent any details. email with details arrived next day.
A grab rail in the shower for us oldies and a non slip mat outside the shower.

Beautiful property, well maintained clean and lovely extras like laundry room, bicycle store, heating.
Kitchen very well appointed and bedroom large and airy with very comfortable bed.
Property in lovely surroundings, very peaceful yet only a few minutes drive from Bamburgh.
The only negatives are things the owners have no control over such as WiFi signal

Standard of accommodation was excellent and very clean. Parking allocated and near to cottage. Location quiet, but near to Bamburgh.
Only thing we missed was a dishwasher. Site says WiFi intermittent, but actually very slow and impractical for anything except email. Smart TVs OK for Freeview but Internet apps wouldn't work.

A very nice Cottage, 5 star in our opinion, easy to drive to Bamburgh, Sea Houses and elsewhere so close to the Sea lovely coastal walks we enjoyed highly recommend.
We liked everything we knew the WiFi would not be up to much seing as it was in the middle of the countryside which was what we wanted peace and quiet, however our Mobile Data on phones worked great all the time, so could use that for Facebook news WhatsApp ETC.

Our accommodation was very nice, extremely clean and a very quiet location. The host (Charlie) was also very responsive to any messages.
However, I don have 2 grumbles:
There was little / no wifi which meant even trying to open up emails was impossible. This has also been mentioned for a number of months in the guest book (Feb 2023) and still an issue that exists.
Once you’ve booked and paid, you’re then obliged to pay an additional insurance fee “for peace and mind” which also comes with an admin fee…hmmm.
If you don’t require wifi or mind an additional fee, then this place is highly recommended.
You’re in a very quiet location but only 5 minutes drive from Bamburgh Castle or 20 minutes from Holy Island.

Lavender Cottage was very comfortable and spacious. Good kitchen, relaxing lounge and a large bedroom with good storage with a small clean bathroom off.
Ample parking for the set of 5 or 6 cottages. Lane to the cottage is very narrow, with a number of potholes, so drive carefully.
The lounge and and bedroom had a large screen TV but the absence of any working WIFI means not streaming services. Note inside the cottage says the WIFI is intermittent; it isn't, it is nonexistent. AirBnB listing needs to be changed to make this clear.
The location is near enough to the A1 and the coast to explore this beautiful county. Electric car charging is close by on the A1.
Overall a lovely off grid stay, in a well appointed and beautiful cottage.
PS the owners mum was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Beautiful little place nested in the countryside just a short 5 minute drive to Bamburgh . Lovely and clean, tidy and well presented. Really quiet and quant little area, perfect place for exporting Northumberland and crossing the Scottish border. Really friendly hosts and helpful, gave us all the information we needed. A little struggle with phone signal as others have already pointed out but didn’t bother us too much as we were able to connect to WiFi/ hotspot for the TV, understandable with where it is.

We stayed second weekend in December - we were the only people in the vicinity and it was very peaceful/ practically no cars coming through and neighbours very quiet.
The WiFi is noted as being not very strong but we managed to get around this by hot-spotting off our phones with no issues.
We’ll definitely be staying again in the future

Beautiful, quiet rural location which was perfect for a relaxing break. Lavender Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Clean and comfortable bed, plenty of towels and loo roll in the ensuite bathroom. Bedroom is huge with plenty of storage and lots of plug sockets for hairdryer/straighteners phone charger. . Kitchen facilities were all you needed with decent kettle, toaster, fridge and easy to use hob, oven and microwave. Beautiful living room with two very comfy reclining sofas, 2 large velux windows in the roof void made this room beautiful and light all day long. The electric fire also came in handy and made the room very cosy on an evening.
Handheld vac in utility cupboard didn't have a cable in order to charge up and use, but I'm sure this can be easily rectified. WiFi is a real struggle at the cottage however, mobile signal was adequate.

It was a lovely AirBnB, very cosy, clean and rustic modern. Good value for money and would recommend for a nice stay in Northumberland. Very close to Bamburgh castle which is worth visiting.
The Wi-Fi doesn’t work at all as it’s very rural, so bare that in mind. 4G is good on phone so we connected the TV to our hotspot to watch Netflix etc.

Lovely quaint cottage in a perfect location for exploring the stunning Northumberland coast.
Cottage was really comfy, felt at home and had everything we needed. Bathroom was spotless and a nice shower (much needed after a rainy day walking!).
Wifi was patchy, but actually had good phone signal (we used this to connect the TV for streaming).
Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and everything you could need. No essential cooking bits provided (oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee) so bring your own if cooking!
Host was responsive to our queries - would definitely recommend.

Lovely kitchen, beautiful lounge. Large bedroom
Bed was uncomfortable. Staff at Host and stay not helpfull.
Bluebell parked their car in front of cottage rather than assigned spot. Told Charlie she said have a word with him. How stupid, considering they sent an email with the rules. If you are looking for a comfortable bed, DONT STAY HERE. Staff don't respond to any complaints total wimps. Knives forks spoons and cups filty. If you have standards, don't stay here and if you want to sleep don't stay here and if you want a response to complaints don't stay here.

Beautiful very rural location.
Super clean & modernised cottage.
Very comfortable.
Although rural not far from amenities & places of interest to visit.
Tv in lounge was very intermittent in working, so had to spend most of the time in the bedroom watching tv in there & so couldn’t really enjoy the benefits of lounge.
Internet pretty non existent & so if you rely heavily on it (which we do) then it’s not the place for you.

Fantastic property in a great location near Bamburgh. absolute peace and quiet which is just what we were after.
Our issue is not with the property but with the agent that the owner has used to manage the bookings. The company is called Host and Stay and were extremely hard work to deal with. initially I was not happy about having to pay a damage waiver or leave a deposit but having checking the small print in the booking I accepted that as a requirement. host and Stay were relentless chasing the completion of the damage waiver. I finally completed a link they sent me which I later found out was for a different date and someone else’s booking. Host and Stay continued to chase for completion of the damage waiver despite me explaining that I’d followed the link they’d sent me and made the payment for the damage waiver. I explained that to complete the process again I would have to pay twice. I asked them to transfer the completed verification and insurance to my actual booking. I thought I’d finally got somewhere when they emailed to say they were happy I’d completed the verification and would receive the entry information. I received an email containing the “PIN number” and wrongly assumed that was the key box number. Arriving at the property I tried the number and it did not work. I rang Host and Stay and explained that I needed the key box number and their representative said that I had not completed the verification or insurance process! I again explained what had happened and that they had sent the wrong link so the rep put me on hold to look into it. Some 10 minutes later I hung up as there was no sign of anyone coming back to me and rang back. their rep again said I hadn’t completed the process at which point I again explained what had happened. eventually they gave me the key box number - they are a nightmare to deal with and I only go to this length of putting this information in the review in the hope the owner of the cottage sees my review and considers the use of Host and Stay as their agent.

The cottage was in a great location and was super clean. Was really warm and has lots of towels and had lots of unique lights around the cottage. The electric fire also made it feel cozy. There was also lot's of parking and laundry and bike storage on site which was good if we had needed it.
Very hard to locate and would benefit better signage at entrance to car park. Bed was lumpy and could do with things such as coffee and tea on arrival. I also thought a £25 fee for insurance for 2 nights was to expensive.

The cottage was lovely comfortable .
Gorgeous location.
However see below.
The shower was very poor , on echo mode wasn't very hot not a lot of pressure , turn to high mode was either red hot turn down slightly cold so that disappointed us . Also went to turn fire on on the fri morning nothing no power on it was ok night before , we reported it , also was under impression before we got there was a log burner fire , even asked host and stay if we could bring our own if none provided was told yes so wasted money buying them and bringing with us , apart from that we enjoyed it even though the problems we had, ps would stay again but better info please

Great location and easy to find. Larger property than you expect with modern furniture and bathroom (although very weak water pressure on shower). Kitchen had all the utensils you need but things weren’t very clean - so we had to wash anything before use. Bedroom - bed was comfy, could do with more storage / drawers, and distinct smell of dog - suppose to be animal free.
Wifi is extremely poor which was frustrating and really let the property down, made it impossible to use streaming services - so wouldn’t return because of this. Recommend twilight swim at the ocean club, mini golf at the bunker and morning walk on Bamburgh beach for anyone visiting.

Lovely cottage, well furnished, good location for different attractions. Loved the electric fire. Clean in the main part.
Not a didn’t like as such as understand it can be missed but some areas needed an extra clean such as Dust around the tiny ornaments in the kitchen, clean behind the shutters, move the sofa and hoover underneath.
Also would benefit with more information about the cottage/recycling and activities around the location.

Frances

It was very clean and comfortable.
The location was quite remote . In theory it is walking distance to Bamburgh but for the vast majority of the route there was no foot path so not safe to walk. The cottage is in a collection of similar cottages. The only outside furniture ( which is quite basic) is right outside the front door in the courtyard so there is no privacy if other families are out too.

Character, quiet location near the sea, good provision of linen, electrical equipment and kitchen equipment, ample off-road parking, pretty hanging baskets and flower tubs.
It was advertised as having wifi - but that isn’t much use with a very intermittent internet connection. My call about this to the provider was promptly returned, but I was not impressed to be referred to their small print and told that there is no superfast broadband in the hamlet of Bradford. A guest who lives over a hundred miles away is not going to know this by osmosis! If you state prominently in the property description that it has wifi, but know that the internet connection is poor, YOU MUST SAY SO EQUALLY PROMINENTLY - not in your general T’s & C’s. That is misleading. As I said to your representative, I intended to work via the internet during my stay, but couldn’t. Had you said that the internet connection was poor, that would have influenced my decision as to whether to book Lavender Cottage.

We had a lovely stay, very comfortable and great space for the dog to play outside our cottage. Thanks so much!

Lovely quiet, clean and spacious cottages that are a short drive to Bamburgh and ideal for touring the surrounding area. If you have dogs then please note there is no enclosed area but plenty of local walks.

Perfect little getaway. A stunning cottage in beautiful scenery. The location is perfect for exploring Northumberland’s beauty spots. The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely 1 bed cottage on a working farm. Beautiful decor, Covid - 19 precautions in place and excellent communication from start to end.
