The perfect location - about 6 mins drive from Bamburgh and so also close to some great restaurants. The cottage was super cosy - it even had dressing gowns! The heating was accessible and the living room fire was great. Milk in the fridge and utensils should you want to make your own food. I honestly couldn’t fault the actual experience.
As most other reviewers have mentioned - the internet is almost non existent. Great to get away from all of that in a way! The property does mention the internet is intermittent - but I pretty much had no signal the 3 nights I was there. Also couldn’t access Netflix on the TV due to the poor network, so had to resort to “normal Live TV”, would be great if there had been board games or a dvd player. Not the properties fault in any way but worth mentioning if you can’t do without the net!

Couldn’t give 5 stars throughout due to the mattress being too soft for our liking and cotton sheets rather than flannelette would be preferable Other than that the property was immaculate with everything else to a high standard

The cottage was amazing and perfect location to visit everywhere we wanted to go, Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, seahouses ( serenity boat trip to see the seals was just amazing too). Holy island was really good too.

The property was very clean, warm and reasonably well equipped.
The property is let via Host & Stay. Beware! Until you have booked this property it is not communicated that all reservations need to have damage waiver in place. Either a one off fee of £30 or £250 taken from a credit card and refunded at a much later date (minus £10 admin fee) if no damage. Profiteering!
I had to chase for check in details too! I will be avoiding Host & Stay in the future!

A lovely place to stay in a wonderful party of the country. Everything was as expected. The only improvement in the property would be the WiFi, this was general slow/ poor. Did it impact the stay not particularly but not what you expect from these sorts of properties.

It's a beautiful cottage, very clean and comfortable. It has a pint of milk for you and pretty much everything you need. The bed is very good and there are plenty of towels. It has a shower mat and even two robes. The area is lovely. It has a cafetiere so you can bring your coffee. There is some tea and sugar. It has wooden shutters on all windows.
The information given by Booking.com are missing some essential ones. First, it is in the middle of nowhere. You cannot walk from the cottage to access the next town. The roads are narrow and no foot path. Although it mention Internet connection, the first piece of information when you walk into the property is that it's intermittent because it's a very rural area. I would say it's pretty much non-existent. You need to use your 4G/5G to get to anything. There are two, rather large TV and the best one is the bedroom one, you can watch most channels. The one in the living room hardly pick up any of them and when it does, it last only few minutes before going to buffering. So I would suggest to bring books and board games. I took my Firestick with me, we never managed to use it.
The other thing is the tea/coffee maker. This is a kettle. There is a cafetiere but as it is not specified in the list of facilities, we only had instant coffee that we had brought with us.
And last thing, Booking.com mention a £250 deposit which will be taken from your bank account and give back 14 days max before and after you leave. This is only one of the options. You must take an insurance but you can also pay £25 non-refundable which will cover your stay for anything and everything.
The company will send you a message before you come and ask you to pay for this. But be ready to not only get confirmation that you have paid for it followed by 3 other messages asking you, reminding you to do it. I found they send too many messages and it was kind of pushy making me uncomfortable, especially if you find anything not working or which needs attention, I would suggest you let them know immediately specifying you spotted it when you arrived otherwise you may be taken as responsible for it.

We had a very peaceful and enjoyable stay at Bluebell Cottage. The cottage itself was spacious, spotless, warm and was very well equipped. it was beautiful looking too, with tasteful decor and furnishings. The recliners were an added luxury!
It was very well situated, and the sat nav instructions take you right there. Very close to Bamburgh Castle and within easy access to Alnwick, Lindisfarne and countless other places of interest.

We had a wonderful stay at Bluebell Cottage, which acted as the perfect hub for us to explore Northumbria. The accommodation itself was beautifully presented, with everything you could need for the perfect stay, including a lovely shower! Despite being situated in the middle of nowhere, it was really easy to venture out to a number of different restaurants, our personal highlights being Mumbai of Alnwick for a brilliant curry, the White Swan Inn for incredible gastro pub food just a few minutes away and also The Tempus at Charlton Hall Estate for a more formal sit down meal. We were only a few minutes away from Bamburgh Castle which was a definite highlight, but also not too far away from other activities. Overall we had a great time, and would definitely recommend!

I'd love to be able to review bluebell cottage bu unfortunately, Host and Stay did not provide the pin to access the property so we were prevented from accessing the stay we have paid for.. This property requires a £250 deposit ( extreme eh?) but about 10 days before our planned stay, we were contacted and asked to also provide ID (driving license/passport) and details to Superhog within 24 hours and pay an additional fee- This wasn’t mentioned before, so we had no time to do any due diligence on superhog ( superhog add these details to a database that they hold for 7 years) -personal data requested and time pressure are hallmarks of a scam. The data being requested would be enough for identity theft and cannot be guaranteed to be kept safe. In the event that this copied ID was then used to fraudulently obtain credit it will be harder to prove fraud. Host and stays position was that we either provide these details and pay this new charge or forfeit the booking and money.
Host and stay have set up the Superhog “know your guest” portal to charge a £10 handling fee when paying the deposit OR a £25 damage waiver ( they apparently set these charges)
While Booking.com agreed that Host and Stay were trying to change the conditions we had booked under, and told us not to pay the additional change or provide ID, apparently they have no power to force Host and Stay to honour their booking terms and conditions.
We consider this to be a breach of Contract.
These conditions have apparently been in place for over a year for all Host and Stay properties so why have the listings not been updated to include this? We were concerned that this was just the first of many spurious charges given that we had already agreed to a £50 cleaning charge, a £25 service charge and a £250 deposit on a paid in advance, non refundable booking.
I expect this review will be deleted by Host and stay so it will be copied elsewhere.

The cottage was wonderful.
Unfortunately we will not use Booking.com again where host and stay are involved.
The reason for this is the demand for a £250 damage deposit is completely out of order...I paid a £25 waiver as reports of people having problems getting the deposits returned was worrying.
There was a subtle suggestion of us losing our holiday Booking if this was not paid.
I find this completely unacceptable as this was only made clear after you made and paid for the holiday Booking.
Once again, we will not use you again where Host and Stay is involved.

This was a really comfortable apartment close to Bamburgh. Looks as though it has recently been refurbished with new fixtures and fittings. It was cosy and warm.
This looks to be converted farm buildings. As a consequence they were situated out in the countryside, only accessible by narrow roads. It was also probably the reason for the poor wifi. When booking this property had to fill out an online Host & Stay Registration Form - not something I've had to do for Booking.com properties. Also in addition to payment, they required a refundable £250 deposit against damage or breakages, which they took at least two weeks before arrival. It was returned about a week after leaving the property. They charge a £10 admin fee for this.

Cottage is in a great location to explore the coast and we enjoyed trips to the farnes and holy island. The house is part of a set of holiday cottages in a fairly isolated location and you’ll need to get in a car to find a shop or restaurant. Comfy inside with a well provided kitchen. Internet was slow/unreliable, this didn’t matter to us but you might want to check if you do need connectivity. Will recommend to friends.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Just utterly let down by the management of Host and Stay. Will come again to this area but never again with a Host and Stay property. A real shame but not worth the hassle.
Property management experience. *warning* They take a £250 bond that I had to chase to get back - and a £10 admin fee that you don't get back at all! You have to do an online ID check required beforehand, but link didnt work - no support on that. Being bombarded with messages and emails and texts but all automated so nothing helpful, no human interaction. Code for the keys was sent a few hours before we arrived not 7 days as they said it would.
We booked for longer initially then reduced the days. We amended the booking very quickly but it took ages to finally get the difference back. Booked through booking.com but there was no automatic refund. Had to ring and chase Host and Stay who had to "send an email to finance" before getting it back.
Also as others have said Wifi is so poor to the point that they shouldn't advertise as having any.

Bluebell cottage is a great place to stay. The cottage is a restful, peaceful and in the countryside. It is a very central place, to stay, only 2.5 miles from Bamburgh and 12 miles from Holy Island.
The entry is by keypad, with clear instructions of the number. The cottage has everything you require and is spotlessly clean. There are two large modern televisions, one in the lounge and ones In the bedroom. The bedroom is large, with a comfortable bed and a chaise lounge, dressing table and bedside tables.
The bathroom has a large shower, with large and small shower heads for a great shower.
The kitchen has all the amenities required. There is also a large pantry where all the pots and plates are kept. There is always lots of warm water, but be patient.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Beautiful little cottage. Very cosy for a winter break. It is nicely furnished and generally very well equipped and comfortable. The location is very quiet but an easy drive to local restaurants, and to Bamburgh and other local attractions.
The cottage was generally excellent, but a few small issues mean its a 9 not a 10. Wifi was very weak, so it's not possible to use smart tv functions and even loading webpages was very slow / impossible. The cottage lacked much information or instructions for e.g. heating, access to laundry facilities, there was also no information about the many local attractions. There didn't seem to be any option for recycling so we ended up bringing ours home. There were a few light bulbs out (facing fireplace and in bathroom), no basics in the kitchen (salt, pepper etc.), flat batteries in kitchen scales and the bedding seemed cheap in comparison to everything else. It was fine for winter but if it had been warmer there is no private outdoor space and certainly not the 'garden' listed. Like other reviewers the Host & Stay communication was frustrating, their email system doesn't seem to work, they bombard you with automated emails but never reply to any so I had a few unnecessary phone calls. It's all rather impersonal collecting the key from the box and never meeting anyone associated with the property.

great location
just need a bit more attention to cleaning - cobwebs everywhere and grubby wall near splash back in kitchen
the whole booking process was rather stressful - I kept receiving emails asking me to complete damage waivers despite already having done so and then threats in emails that our booking would be cancelled this resulted in at least 3 phone calls which could have been avoided

We enjoyed a long weekend staying here on our first trip to Northumbria. The cottage is warm and nicely decorated with a good shower and useable kitchen. The WiFi isn't reliably so I wouldn't say it's possible to work remotely here or get good quality video streaming (we did manage to watch a football match but it was low quality). There wasn't anything particularly welcoming or with that special touch you get from self hosted air bnbs but communication with the company that runs the property was generally fine.

Bluebell Cottage was beautifully decorated and spacious for two people. The artwork on the walls was lovely and by a young local artist. The shower room was excellent and the kitchen quite well equipped. The property was very well situated for exploring the Northumbrian coast.
Unfortunately the property description was not accurate. There was no washer or drier in the kitchen - a laundry across the courtyard housed a poorly functioning washer and drier shared with multiple other properties. We had to contact the letting agency to get a password for an alternative Wi-Fi as the cottage Wi-fi didn't work and even the alternative was slow and insufficient to stream anything to supplement the basic TV coverage. There was also no garden as advertised but merely a paved / tarmac area shared with the adjoining cottage. We were also bombarded with confusing and conflicting emails from 'Host and Stay' before and during our stay including two emails and a text telling us to make sure we checked out on time or else!!

Lockbox could be easier to open.
Lots of cobwebs all over the property, needs a good clean. Windows only opened a little, hard in hot weather.

The cottage was set in a beautiful rural location, just 2 miles from Bamburgh. The property was clean., modern and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was very well equipped and the lounge and bedroom spacious, light and comfortable, especially the bed and reclining sofas. The bathroom was excellent with a powerful walk in shower.. The property far exceeded our expectations and we would thoroughly recommend.
Everything was fabulous

Extremely spacious and modern inside
Beautiful quiet location, overlooking fields.
Very comfy bed and sofas. well equipped kitchen
There was nothing that we didn’t like but a little area information might be useful with a map of the immediate area. I realise those can be googled but logged in on one device then had difficulty with a second.
There was no information or receptacle for recycling. We brought ours away to recycle at home. May I also suggest not providing little plastic bottles of shampoo etc? Use nice refillable stone bottles instead.

This beautifully presented cottage and it's rural surroundings gave us everything that we required for a peaceful relaxing holiday. The modern furnishings and spotless rooms emphasised how much thought and effort the owners must have given to ensure that visitors are comfortable from the moment they enter, and with excellent kitchen and shower facilities also included it far exceeded our expectations. This property also represents excellent value for money and is definitely one we will becoming back to.

Fantastic location for the Northumbria coast with Bamburgh literally down the road. If you want to do the three castles Lindisfarne , Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh you couldn’t be more better situated. Seahouses is the place to be to organise trips to the Farne Islands.
Bradfords cottages are well equipped with only the internet being fairly erratic on connection. Lovely comfortable bed and nicely equipped kitchen and plenty of hot water for a super shower.

Excellent accommodation, well equipped, comfortable and in a quiet location but only a short distance from Bamburgh and surrounding towns and villages. The cottage is clean, pleasantly furnished and has parking available right outside. Very happy with our stay and would consider rebooking in the future.

Very quiet location. The accommodation was very modern and we'll equipped. Loved the high ceiling with roof lights in the lounge. Some great attractions close by as well as wonderful scenery. Close to major roads but far enough away to not hear them. Good selection of restaurants within a short drive. Highly recommended.
Door hinges need a drop of oil, but hardly a major spoiler.

A wonderful place for a quiet escape. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Spotlessly clean. Very cosy. A few miles from Bamburgh Castle and Seahouses. Try the lively fishing village of Craster, about thirty minutes drive, for excellent seafood. Excellent and prompt communication from the management team. Broadband speed can be limited, though.

The communication from the host was excellent. really helpful. the cottage is well located and you can access the coast and other local villages with ease. the cottage is beautifully maintained, and spotlessly clean. the shower was wonderful! the heating is toasty warm. the bed was SOOOOO comfortable. perfect for a short break for 2.
the only issue is I had no WiFi the duration of the stay. there is WiFi at the property but it does not work well.

This is a deligthful place to stay. Perfectly positioned for access to lots of lovely walks and sights in Northumberland. A peaceful haven to retreat to at the end of a busy day. Bluebell is cosy as well as bright and airy, tastefully decorated and scrupulously clean. It offerred everything we needed, especially sumptuous towels (1 small, medium and large each!) and bathrobes. The bed was large and very comfortable, the shower hot and powerful and the surroundings tranquil and beautiful.

A fantastic property for 2 people in a quiet location but only 5 mins drive to Bamburgh.
Very clean and kitchen has everything you would ever need.
Agents communication was very good.
WiFi was ok, a bit hit and missy sometimes but your on holiday so do without it for a day or 2, it wont do you any harm. 2 bars on EE 4G there if you can’t do without it.
We will definitely be back !!

Excellent accommodation in a superb location. Sparklingly clean, very cosy and comfortable living room and bedroom, with modern bathrooms and hot shower. Kitchen had every facility and gadget you could think of. We had a brilliant time on a crisp, sunny winter weekend, warm and cosy indoors and enjoying the wild, peaceful beauty of the Northumberland countryside and coast. Many thanks

We left Blubell cottage this morning. Its a lovely cottage with comfortable furniture and bed. It's really clean and the location is great. There are some stunning places and beaches to visit along with castles. In particular Bamburgh, Alnmouth, Alnwick and my favorite Warkworth. I would recommend this cottage if you enjoy peace and quiet with close access to wonderful Northumbrian venues.

This was a lovely place to stay, very cosy and clean. Lovely size for 2 people and has everything you need. Hosts are very helpful when it comes to communication, we had pretty bad weather and they made sure to call back even though it would have been busy for them. Quite remote but there are plenty of things to do nearby with pubs, restaurants etc.
We will hopefully be returning when we can, would 100% recommend.

We’ve just returned from a 3 night stay here and would definitely recommend as a base for exploring the stunning Northumberland coast with all its beaches and castles. The cottage was spotless, tastefully furnished and well equipped. A pint of milk and tea, coffee and sugar were supplied, thank you. The large bed and the sofas were really comfortable, and lovely fluffy towels and bathrobes were supplied. It’s by a farm on a very quiet country lane, barely any traffic, occasional horses going by. A problem with the central heating programmer was swiftly dealt with - a relief as the weather was turning much colder.

Perfect location for some peaceful time in Northumberland in easy driving distance to many great walks, beaches, castles and villages. This was perfect for the two of us including fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, very nice bathroom, and cosy living area. It was very clean, easy to communicate with the host and useful instructions.

Amazing cottage, beautifully presented and very clean. Nice touches like some milk being provided to start us off. Lots of utensils and cooking equipment and essentials like a cafetière!
Walking/running/cycling distance to the beautiful Bamburgh castle and beach. Also a nice walk across some fields to a pub at Lucker. A short drive to Lindesfarne and Alnwick and other nice places to visit. Only issue is the wifi and lack of reception. Wasn’t able to get on their wifi at all. But other than that is a wonderful place and will definitely visit again.

This cottage is perfect for two people and in a really great location. Felt really rural and off grid but super easy and to drive places if you have a car. Everything in the cottage is a really high spec - we had a gorgeous stay!

Lovely rural cottage - stayed for 2 nights and walked to/from Bamburgh as we didn’t have a car. Bed was so comfortable!
My only criticism is that it was rather expensive considering it’s a 1 bed cottage.

Lovely place to stay. Ideally located away from busy roads and towns but with good link roads to places for little trips out. Bamburgh very close, and Seahouses too and we even took a day out to drive to Edinburgh! Internet is very intermittent in the cottage so make sure you've downloaded some Netflix or something before you go if you plan on watching anything on an evening etc. Plenty of safe parking for cars and bikes. Generally very good and would use again.
Be warned, the minor roads to/from the cottages were OK for us mid October but in colder, harsher weather I imagine they could be quite tricky for less confident drivers, particularly at night. The roads aren'tin bad condition or anything but some roads to/from the cottages are single lane and if anythings coming in the opposite direction it can be a bit tricky to pass.

The cottage was nice, lovely feeling of space in the living-room. It was warm and clean. The shower was lovely & the robes a nice touch. We were let down by very slow wifi (computer struggled to load a web-page) but i believe this issue is being dealt with now. Our biggest disappointment was to discover there was no open fire. The listing said there was an indoor fire and the photos showed a pile of logs on the hearth. Unfortunately it was just an electric fan heater and the logs were 'for show'.

New, clean and stylish cottages set in a great location near to Bamburgh beach. The lodge has all the facilities you’d need for a short stay and it was a comfortable stay although a little warm at night in the bedroom. As a new development it provided good value (but with the airbnb costs added it did soon all add up) and we had a lovely weekend exploring Northumberland with our dogs.

The cottage is really well done out with premium touches and a lovely place to relax for a few days. The location is fab, only a short drive from Bamburgh.
The only small problem we had was the WiFi wasn’t very good and we weren’t able to access Netflix or anything like that on the TV. Obviously don’t come away to sit in front of the TV, but we were there with our 6 month old so wanted to relax and catch up on TV in the evening!
