Lovely decor and furnishings, great bathroom, the bath was very nice. Convenient location close to the town centre.
The property is located down an alley, isolated from the main square and is right next door to a young offenders hostel. Although we had no issues with this apart from a little noise, it could be intimidating or even a safety issue for a solo female traveller and had I known about this I would probably have booked elsewhere.

Parking instructions is not very clear. Facility provided a parking permit . But it does not apply to the market place square in front of the facility. That requires disc parking which you can obtain complimentary from the shops. However it only for 2 hrs.. I got a parking violation penalty charge. Hope this could be better explain in the write up for the facility , especially for foreigners who do not understand the disc parking system

Lovely location nice large property with everything you need
Stayed at property 4 months ago and this visit was disappointing, one cup had tea stains inside, gin glasses in cupboard had some form of growth inside, the oven door had large grease streak down it, cobwebs everywhere, hair in the bath tub, I'm totally bald and my wife is blond, neither of ours, and it seams as though a duster and polish is not used.

It was a nice small house on a back lane from the main square. Great bathroom, pleasantly decorated.
There were a lot of hidden charges. The initial price was £234 for three nights but then we had to pay a cleaning charge of £50 and a service charge of £25. A week or two before we went to the property we were informed there was also a damage deposit of £250 or a waiver of £25. I chose the waiver fee, as I did not trust them with £250.
I have since checked on the Booking website and can't find anything that tells the prospective guests about these fees upfront. Maybe it is buried in the small print and we didn't read it thoroughly. We won't be back and our advice is to check the small print and expect to pay considerably more than the advertised price.

Lovely property very central to the market place. Beautifully decorated very cosy, comfortable and stylish.
Location fab the disc provided for parking was very much appreciated and easy to find the location to use it at.
lovely bathroom, fixtures and fittings across the property were very good quality.
Given that the property is just off the market place, at the side of a pub and the ally leading to it is a walkway though to the street behind it was still exceptionally quiet. Its a lovely little hidden gem of a property cant wait to return.
If I'm being very picky the space in the kitchen where the fridge freezer is could be finished off better. It spoils the look of what otherwise is a very nicely fitted kitchen.

Had a fantastic time at The Green Door, it was a stones throw from the square and walking distance of everywhere.
Situated between Richmond Museum and the Green Howards Museum it is perfect for a cute get away and/or walking holiday.
Spotless and very cosy we had a lovely time and felt very comfortable. I’ve already recommended it to friend’s and family and we will likely go again next time.

The Green Door is a well presented and cosy cottage that has everything you need for a short stay in Richmond. It's in a great location directly off the main market square surrounded by shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Parking is close by and a parking permit was provided for the council run car parks, which was a nice touch.
A little frustrating that there were no coffee pods provided for the Nespresso Vertuo machine, If I had known that there was one in the cottage, I would have brought my own pods!

A nice little cottage in the marketplace.
really convenient for all the restaurants and bars in the town.
We enjoyed our stay at the green door, the cottage was clean and tidy with all the bits you need for a short stay.
if I was being picky, I'd say there needed to be more radiators (there are none in the kitchen) so the kitchen was always cold.
Overall it was a nice place to stay.

Apartment was attractive and in a good location.
We could not open front door without considerable difficulty. The door was very badly warped and required a lot of force to open atall. I could not open or shut it without my husbands help. Therefore I could not gain access without my husband with me. It is a safety issue. We reported the situation to Host and Stay several times ,nothing was done. Also the main radiator in the lounge did not work. It was cold. A maintenance person came I believe. We were then informed by email it didn't work. Not helpful atall.
The front door situation ruined the break for us.We have received no apology. I hope to get the £250 damage deposit back immediately.
I have used booking. Com many times before and always had wonderful service and support. Not so with Host and Stay.

lovely home from home place, it was easy to find, we was a little unsure about the parking situation as there are numerous parking areas around but some are for disc and some are pay and display, or card holders (which the cottage provide to access free parking) there are local 2hour parking but the main one which you need to use is the nuns car park which is a long stay place which will suit the holiday stay people.
the cottage is presented lovely, spacious little haven, the bed was lovely and comfortable and helped have a good night sleep, the bath room facilities was brilliant and suit anyone's bathing neds, whether they want a soak in the bath or a quick shower. The living room area was cosy and suited us on a evening as was chilled out.
access to the market was right on our door step with plenty of little shops near by.

The house was lovely, convenient to the centre, shops, pubs, etc. A 10 minute walk to the river. Very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
Hidden charges - the booking.com confirmation said we could use a credit card number as security for the damage deposit. This was not the case, we could either transfer £250 and be charged £10 admin fee for doing so, or we could purchase a damage waiver for £25. This should have been made clear when booking.
Parking permit - this was out of date so we couldn't use it
The gutter above the front door was leaking.

We were actually shocked at how nice this place was. There were no negatives whatsoever.
It is beautifully decorated, the bed and furniture are as comfortable as can be, the bathroom is perfect for both bathers and showerers. There's even dog bowls and a really nice pub next door!
Just a couple of things: there is no two-pin bathroom electrical socket for shavers and electric toothbrushes.
The parking pass does not work for the market square. You can only park there after 6 and before 8am. Other times you need a disc for 'Disc Parking' - something I wasn't familiar with which led to me receiving a ticket.
Getting that parking ticket in the Market Square. Everything else was perfect.

The sky tv had bad reception . Kept going off. The bedroom felt small and enclosed. You could not get out of bed without banging your head on ceiling as im 6'4""

we loved the style and finish of this property. It was presented beautifully. The location was also excellent, down a side alley but essentially it couldn’t have been more perfect. A hop skip and jump from the square.
The blind in the bedroom was broken and looked to have been plastered over with masking tape and zip ties. Meaning natural light was the wake up call. Would recommend fixing this as summer approaches. A TV in the bedroom would have been a huge plus but again not essential. Very minor things and didn’t effect our amazing stay.

Amazing property and great location.
Parking instructions werent clear around where the permit could be used. A simple map of the area shaded to show where it could be used would be an easy solution.

The property had a lovely, cosy feeling to it. Everything was so clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom had heated flooring which was ideal for during the night! 😂
Location - next to a pub that plays loud music until late however didn’t ruin anything - we stayed up late watching movies anyway! But could be a pain to those who like an early night.
Also had to ring to find the property, maybe a more in-depth description could be beneficial for future guests (which alleyway, in between where etc) :)

This would have been ok but we were not advised the pub close by does loud music on a Saturday night. So bad we left just after 11pm. We did not get offered a refund for not being able to sleep there the second night. I recorded the music as it was really bad. I do believe we should have got a partial refund. I asked to be contacted by phone and messaged numerous times. This is totally unacceptable we should have been pre warned.

Beautifully furnished, well equipped house in the centre of Richmond with all amenities nearby. Great base for touring the wider region. Well-furnished with excellent attention to detail, plenty of appliances and utensils in the kitchen, good communication from staff with easy instructions on how to locate the property and key. The bathroom was beautifully furnished and a treat to stay in. We will definitely be booking again.
Parking was somewhat tricky, even with the kindly provided permit you could only stay two hours max. If you are staying longer than 2 nights it’s probably cheaper and easier to get a weekly permit than having to keep topping up the meter.

Great property in the middle of town. The bed was really comfy. The decor is beautiful. Free parking pass for 4 car parks.
Not keen on the actual location...down a dingy, unmarked alleyway. Wouldn't have felt safe walking down it in the dark. The cleanliness wasn't the best - reported various things to the agent, so hopefully all will be sorted now.

Lovely property furnished to a very high standard. Every room well thought out and full of character. Contained everything you could need for a short stay. Easy to access with a coded keysafe. Spotlessly clean and so cosy.
It is difficult to find from the map given. There is very limited parking in the local area due to permits. It is off the market square but down a small unsigned alley. There is a parking permit in the cottage but it is unclear where it can be used. Parking in the market square requires a 2 hour residents disc so you cannot park. Quite difficult to unload a car and find somewhere suitable.

Great location for a weekend break in Richmond.
Parking-wise we didn’t use the parking permit as we’d arrived hours before check-in (we were unable to get the permit early, which was slightly annoying). Nuns Close car park isn’t too far away and £15 for a week ticket makes parking easy enough.

Location is excellent as its just up an alley off the main square, so ideal for all the shops, pubs and amenities in the centre of Richmond. The cottage itself was spot on! It looks and feels like its been renovated to a really good spec. The living room is a good size, comfortable with a great TV and excellent wifi. Great bathroom - roll-top bath and great separate shower. Bedroom as with the rest of the cottage is excellent and furnished well - I would defo recommend and hope to return.
Nothing to be honest - some might think the kitchen is a little small but it’s to be expected as it’s a cottage for two, but it has everything you need and is well fitted out.

Great stay for a weekend in Richmond. The location is perfect, right in the centre. The living room, bathroom and bedroom are all lovely. If you do like to cook then please be aware that the kitchen is small. You will also need to bring milk etc (or buy from the coop round the corner) as there isnt a welcome pack. A parking permit is provided but if anyone cant walk far its worth noting the long stay is about 10 mins walk away. Overall a great choice but worth being aware of these few minor points.

Very nicely furnished, clean and very comfortable. Nice central location in Richmond but lovely and quiet.
Good wifi and nicely equipped kitchen- not that we did much cooking as lots of places to eat on the doorstep.
- Parking is limited and a bit confusing
- Coffee machine looked lovely but unable to buy the right pods for it as you can only get them from Nespresso
- Heating was all over the place- freezing or boiling on the preset program which I think someone previous to us had messed with.

Wonderful place for a break. The flat is well equipped, warm and comfy. It also has a nice big TV and fast wifi! We wouldn't hesitate to come here again. It is also right in the middle of Richmond, which is one of the most beautiful small towns in England. And even though it's central we found it to be a really quiet spot.
Be aware that you will have to park a short distance away, (parking permits supplied), but there are loading spaces nearby which are handy for getting luggage transferred over.

This is a seriously good accommodation. We travel a lot- usually 4 and 5 star and we were pretty impressed. Stylish decor, fantastic sleeps in the most comfortable bed, good sized smart tv, super comfy sofa, location just off the main square, parking permit was handy too. (Note - you can’t use it in the square - it’s for blue parking zone car parks like Nunn’s Close). Kitchen had everything we needed for a full week stay. Shower was excellent - hot water and great pressure. Very dog friendly.
Pub next door - extremely loud disco / techno music on the Saturday night til after 11pm. Not the fault of the property but ruined our last night.

Very nice apartment, well furnished and spacious. Tiny kitchen but that was no problem for our 2 night stay. There’s no outside space which is a shame and a bit trickier with a dog (due to Covid staycation popularity we couldn’t find anywhere with a garden). The location means it’s a bit of a challenge to unpack and pack your car, but it’s smack bang in the middle of the town so you do have the shops on your doorstep. The downside to that is it was a little noisy. Cute little place to spend a couple of days!

Great location for access to Richmond Town. Very central and accommodation was clean and at a high standard inside.
