Generally I’d say the property was “ok”, I had higher expectations from the brochure. Anyone staying here with young children or elderly guests should be made aware that the two single bedrooms in the loft have extremely steep stairs up to them. Additionally, the house is in an area of terraced houses, which means that the parking around these narrow streets is limited to first come, first served & the streets themselves are very narrow for manoeuvring around when looking for parking. 6 people stayed in the property, but only 5 towels were provided. I contacted the property management company & requested an additional towel, and after a frustrating exchange with them not quite grasping my basic issue, they finally delivered a towel the next day - left on the door step - in a bin bag! The Wi-Fi listed was different to what was listed in the brochure. The place could do with a deep clean & a bit of TLC & modernising. It was quite dark inside - not bright like the brochure.

A charming and cosy little house that was perfect for our whole family. It had everything we needed—and more. The four bedrooms and three bathrooms were a real highlight, offering plenty of space for everyone. We also appreciated the thoughtful safety features, such as the stair gate, sensor lights, and fire safety information. However, when we arrived, we had difficulty finding any details about the property. Without WiFi information printed out, we couldn’t access the online information pack. It might be helpful to provide a printed version in the house or send the password to guests ahead of time to avoid similar issues.

Still awaiting a response from the complaints department regarding the cleanliness of property. Pros. Lovely, homely property with just about everything you need although washing up liquid would have been welcome. All the rooms are well decorated. Beautiful bedding, plenty of toilet rolls, shower gels and soap. Has a cute little back courtyard. Walk down to harbour was enjoyable, we took taxis back. Cons. All 3 toilets are on the same landing meaning the guests in the 2 bedrooms on the top floor have climb down a very steep staircase. Shortly after arriving we couldn’t log into WiFi and bathroom sink was leaking. Reported these issues but didn’t require maintenance done ( we put a bowl under the sink) as we were only booked for 3 days. But the following day the kitchen sink was blocked, frying pans needed scraping,cigarette butts in yard, stained tea cups (used plastic ones) dusty, filthy oven door, red stains on a bathroom towel etc. All reported whilst we were there and at home.

My family of 5 spent a 4 nights in Whitby. The house was perfect for us clean comfortable and within walking from town. It had everything we needed for our stay.

Beautiful accommodation but unfortunately at the top of a very steep hill , had an over 70 and 4 year old with us both struggled with the hill.

I could not be more disappointed with our experience with Host and Stay (by far the worst hosts I have encountered) The property itself is lovely, decorated beautifully and reasonably well equipped and we enjoyed Whitby. Our stay however was completely marred by Host and Stay who failed to provide us with the code to get the key - leaving my wife and I with our three young children walking around late at night without a place to stay until 10:30PM. They were completely uncontactable the whole afternoon/evening (not responding to us or AirBnB via phone or message) and all we received were generic automated email responses. Eventually we had to get a last-minute hotel for the night in Scarborough. A hugely stressful experience which completely spoiled our holiday! Eventually we received the key code at 11:20PM and were able to get in to the property the next day. Host and Stay were a shambles and incommunicative and trying to sort it out since has been a nightmare too.

We had a lovely stay in this property as a family of 2 adults and 3 kids. It’s a small but perfectly formed house, with 3 separate toilets and an en-suite in the master bedroom. Kitchen had everything you could need including an iron. Parking was difficult due to the nature of the tiny steep streets so bear that in mind if you have members of your party who can’t walk far/up hills with luggage! We had difficulty connecting to the WiFi, which wasn’t the details provided (it’s the details on the back of the router). Whitby is a lovely location for a family holiday - this place is about 20 mins walk (with kids) from the beach up/down some steep hills.
