The flat was in a great location and having a designated parking space was a huge benefit given the difficult parking in Whitby centre. We had all the amenities inside the flat that we were expecting. My biggest issue was with the comfort of the beds. The mattresses were awful - either very cheap or very well used! Not good at all for anyone with back problems.

Shipwright Lodge is in a great location, just a short walk from all that Whitby has to offer. We arrived a little later than expected and I was in need of a coffee fix. The Host & Stay website mentions that they provide Wonky coffee pods for the Nespresso machine. Unfortunately this was not the case for us, not a coffee pod in site. I have had many short breaks in Whitby over the years and we also usually get a welcome hamper of some sort. We did not receive anything at Shipwright Lodge, not even a bottle of milk. Maybe my expectations are too high, but it would it would have been nice just to have a few essentials. We also had what sounded like a herd of elephants in the apartment upstairs, I know this can't be helped and this won't always be the case but please bare this in mind of you don't like noise. All in all it was a great little apartment that requires a few improvements.

Had a few issues as the lats on the bed were cracked which made for a few uncomfortable nights. Maintenance wanted to come out at 2030 which was late so had to wait for the next day. Good location Clean flat

Really enjoyed staying here as surrounding area quiet with parking but only 120 seconds away from Whitby so very walkable. The flat is clean and well looked after felt like a home from home and we really enjoyed our stay. Easily recommend and will hopefully return in the future it’s a brilliant base to explore surrounding areas and loads of places to eat/drink etc

This was the worst trip to Whitby by far, we go every year and have stayed in host & stay properties each time. The apartment itself should have been considerably better but what we found totally let it down. Positives- good location, car parking space (although it is tight not helped by renovations going on at the house across so work vans in parking spaces), bathroom was nice. Negatives- access instructions vague due to 4 lockboxes it wasn't the one directly behind the parking space. Door to the apartment was unlocked as the lock wasn't working. Apartment was not clean, it was dusty, dirty floors, cobwebs and dead insects. It had not been cleaned recently. Outside furniture & space was covered in bird poo. There was a baby seagull living there with attacking parent, we could not use the outside space or let dog out. This property should therefore not have been rented out. All reported to H&S. They sent a cleaner and maintenance for the lock but we had to stay in to deal with this.

Loved Whitby but not our lodge Nice looking modern flat, excellent location very near town centre. Also, private parking which is a must for Whitby. However, on the downside; bathroom had no curtain or blind for privacy and the door didn’t lock. Also, no hooks or rail for towels/clothes. Only one hand towel between 4 people, not good enough. Mattresses were shocking, felt every spring on all three beds, God knows how old they were. Patio area & seating. Disgusting! Bird poo everywhere. We complained about this and were informed it would be cleaned ASAP, needless to say, no sign of the cleaners during our remaining four days. Also, we had resident seagulls & large chic living in patio area and were attacked whenever we attempted to venture out. Therefore, outside area was off limits. We were never warned about this prior to arrival, otherwise we wouldn’t have booked. I don’t tend to write reviews but felt it necessary on this occasion. Though, restricted by character length.

Amazing apartment with lots of space. Bright airy and really well equipped. Everything you would need! From clothes dryer to airfyer! Lovely court yard wrapping around the apartment with sun all day. Come the evening- beautiful solar lights entice you back into the card for a little nightcap. So close to everything but tucked away so quiet at night time. Great communication and easy to find. Whitby itself is beautiful and worth a visit.

We had a great stay at Shipwright Lodge, the place was clean, comfortable and in a great location for accessing Whitby. There were a few issues locating the car parking space and keys, which would be improved with some better signage. Communication with the host was friendly and efficient.

The apartment was exactly as described. Facilities were excellent. Beds very comfortable and plenty of bedding. Plenty of kitchen equipment and all very well set out. Outside space large and private. Added bonus a good parking space. Could not fault anything at all and will definitely recommend to friends and family. Very easy access to central Whitby and harbour.

Wrong keys in box couldn’t gain entry took two and half hours to resolve after a 4 hour journey, I was very disappointed that a comment was made saying NEVERMIND it was just a missing key, once we gained entry even the head of housekeeping was shocked to see no Christmas decor had been added , no welcome pack was added either , The apartment is very modern but no attention to detail on cleaning, I had to put all crockery and pots into dishwasher before I could use them, extraction fan was dirty and had cobwebs inside, the vacuum had not been emptied or cleaned for some time,the double mattress was so uncomfortable we had to put all the available pillows under to give some sort of support, low quality mattress protection and no pillow protection under slips , There was no bin store key so was told to leave rubbish inside property, Although responses were received prompt there was no offer of Christmas decor or wine or anything to soften the situation

Had everything could think of to stay for a number of days. Great to have a parking space very easy to walk into town. Love all the modern equipment and furnishing with added bonus of a decent size out door area. Be nice to sit outside if weather was sunny. Would definitely stop again

A lovely little stay in whitby! the host was so responsive- replies in 10 mins and gave a great recommendation for lunch. The place is a nice 5 min walk from the centre of whitby and has a lovely outside area. Inside was absolutely spotless and very cosy vibes inside with blankets and a smart tv. We enjoyed our stay so much it was perfect- thank you!!

we arrived in the dark,and rain so it was harder to find the apartment. But once found and easily parked, was a great location. the apartment was lovely inside. Nicely decorated, modern. Everything we needed was supplied . warm and quiet also.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this apartment. Very easy check in. Given lots of information by the host before arrival. Apartment as described in the pictures, lovely very comfortable. Well equipped had everything you need to cook a meal. Spotlessly clean and tidy. The outside area was great for the doggie. You can tell the owner looks after this property just like a home from home. In a fantastic location just 2 min walk to the harbour. Whitby is beautiful lovely little seaside town with everything you need. Great pubs and restaurants, lovely shops selling lots of local products. The people we met were so very friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble in the bars and restaurants. Co-op on the door step no need to drive out. The beaches and harbour are stunning. The only things we felt would enhance the experience was maybe a TV in the bedroom and a curtain across the patio doors at the kitchen end. We would highly recommend this apartment and will definitely be back ?

Lovely Apartment 5 minutes walk from Whitby Town Centre. Onsite parking. The accommodation was well furnished and extremely comfortable to stay at. Private Garden which is Dog Friendly. Great for a weekend in Whitby. Beaware that the host will want a further payment for damage waiver which wasn't advertised at booking.

The flat was clean and cosy with a good location and all the amenities we needed. It was disappointing that the agency had a hidden 'accidental damage insurance' fee that was not advertised in the listing and was a requirement of the stay. We also had several particularly tricky encounters with the agency and their unfriendly and inflexible service before we arrived. It is a real shame that the agency was so difficult to deal with as the flat itself was exactly what we wanted.

Very cosy apartment at close proximity to the lively town centre and port. Good sized back garden for our pet and well equipped rooms and kitchen. strongly recommend for a break at beautiful Whitby!

Apartment was clean with all mod cons, well positioned for town centre unfortunately the internet was not connected so I couldn't use the wifi this was a big problem for me as I needed to work from home on 1 day of my stay. Also the parking space was very difficult to get into.

We had a very comfortable two nights at Shipwright Lodge. This new build flat is within 2 minutes walking distance of the town centre. It was clean and uncluttered and had with everything we needed to make our stay with two teenage girls pleasant. We will definitely return. Whitby itself if a wonderful place to visit with so much on the doorstep or just a short drive away.

Ideal location, clean and well furnished. Could perhaps provide more of a welcome pack, rather than just 4 thimble cartons of milk for 4 guests, on a minimum 2 night stay basis and no biscuits.
