Very well equipped and good quality. Property spotless. Hosts checked in to see if everything was okay which was reassuring. Welcome pack a very nice added touch on top of everything else. Would definitely recommend.

Mattresses too firm for our liking and could feel the springs. Quilts too hot and heavy for Summer months as the property is fairly new and well insulated. Maybe have sheet and blanket to hand. Tried to use the fans but they were very noisy.
Settee comfy for lounging but not supportive if sitting up but that’s just a personal thing. TV could maybe have been put on wall opposite the settee so not cricking neck but again personal choice.

Lovely cottage within a few minutes walk to all shops, bars, restaurants and railway/bus station. Nice stroll to beach and mediaeval area. It is tastefully decorated with quality furnishings which easily accommodated 6 adults, a toddler, a baby and puppy.
Welcome hamper for guests (and puppy) a nice surprise.
An excellent equipped kitchen and utility, plus enclosed outside area made the cottage feel like a home from home.
The parking for 2 cars and use of separate electric car charging area (by request) was essential as parking in Whitby is a nightmare.
Contact with the host was excellent.
Would definitely return.

The space was well used and never did we feel on top of any other members of our party. The house was centrally situated for what we wanted to do and the parking was a bonus for our 2 cars.

Beautifully furnished spotless property Every age catered for with games and toys for children and selection of books and dvds Owner also left a very well received welcome pack ànd folder with lots of very useful local information The property is also very central Ideally located up a side street with two private parking spaces - like gold dust on sunny festival weekend in Whitby

The upstairs double mattress was a wee bit firm for us ( but thats just a personal thing) but of good quality Loved everything else

Sherlock Cottage is a great location in Whitby, and exactly as described.

We met the friendly enthusiastic owners outside the property, who were rightly proud of the quality service they provide, as we could not find fault in anyway.

The house was spotlessly clean throughout and smelt lovely and fresh as we entered to find a super welcome hamper along with a radio playing to welcome us.

Lots of thoughtful little touches made it feel like home, such as plenty of bin bags, kitchen cleaning bits and pieces, sandwich bags and kitchen foil etc.

The house was spacious, and really comfortable for 5 adults and a dog, and the bar football provided lots of fun and competition.

Top quality and value for money.

It was an amazing stay. We have been burned the last one we stayed at but this took all that away. Everything was beautifully done, great distance to everything, spacious, felt like home.

We loved staying at Sherlock cottage. It's very convenient for walking around Whitby and the house has a great open plan kitchen / living room. And there were some nice welcome treats for us! The 'host and stay' rental company were very quick to reply to any query I sent them too. I'd recommend staying here!

What a beautiful place, very spacious and perfect for a family of 7! Upon arrival we were met with a welcome box full of sweets, chocolate and a bottle of fizz which was a lovely touch. The lights were on, the heating was up and each room had music playing from the radios provided. We didn’t want for anything as every detail had been thought of and was in abundance. From plates, to glasses and even a picnic set should you need it. We really enjoyed the tv room for watching films in the evening and had so much space on the huge couch despite there being 7 of us. It’s really made our weekend very special, we’ll definitely be back!

This house is lovely. It’s very well furnished, well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. Stylish too!. The location is great - literally in the centre of Whitby with easy access and two parking spaces. We met the owners twice who were very welcoming and keen to ensure that we were happy with the house and our stay. Would definitely come back again and would highly recommend.

Booked this lovely little house last minute for a family holiday! We could not believe our luck. The place is absolutely beautiful and it is clear how much effort the hosts have put in to make this getaway cosy and lovely for their guests! Would definitely recommend!
