Arrived at the flat at the late check in time of 4pm on Friday to find no heating on in the flat (this had not been on for some time, the place was freezing!) Adjusted the temp, but after looking at the boiler could see there was a fault. Rang Host and Stay and got through to a call centre which was obviously not in this country and tried to explain the problem. Sent a photo as requested and did not hear a thing until Saturday evening when someone requested another photo.
Feel a bit aggrieved at paying nearly £300 to sit in a flat fully clothed with a quilt wrapped round me!
Quick to take £25 for insurance but useless at putting basic things right.
The flat itself is quite nice but not what I would call dog friendly.
The kitchen is strange.....nice cupboards but no drawer for cutlery. Had to get on my hands and knees to get a fork!!
No more Host and Stay for me

There were no keys on arrival. When I rang we were told to ring booking.com and find somewhere else to stay because they didn't know where the keys were! We were eventually let in by other guests who took pith on us....we had travelled from Ireland on a ferry that day! I was promised a refund of 10 per cent....it's now September 23rd, the start if the holiday was 7th August!
Not getting a key. But what really put the nail in tyf coffin was nobody came to hflo in thd morning either....I had to hunt down anyone who worked for host and stay to try and get a key!

I’ll start with my biggest gripe on this AirBnB, and something I’m really quite angry about, is being charged £25 extra over and above what we have paid through AirBnB, surely that shouldn’t be allowed? The timing of it was as customer unfriendly as you could imagine, booked 22nd March, paid what we thought was our final payment 29th August, and on 5th September we were told ‘So that we can send all your check-in details to you ahead of your stay, this is a friendly reminder that you need to fill out our check-in form and arrange for your damage waiver or a damage deposit prior to arrival’. In other words you cannot now get a full refund, but you have to pay extra to be allowed to use the apartment! Very underhand and not acceptable, how can AirBnB allow this?
The main benefit is the location, which is great. The apartment itself doesn’t have a smart TV, or a washing machine, very little storage space for clothes, the shower is very good, but overall could be better equipped.
