Nestled in the beautiful village of Easington in County Durham, The Farmhouse is a recently refurbished property with charm in abundance. Aptly named, The Farmhouse is a converted former home on a working farm. Now a wonderful holiday home, this dog friendly property sleeps up to four guests and is perfect for family staycations, romantic retreats and getaways with friends.

The space

Upon entering The Farmhouse, you’ll be impressed with its bright, yet traditional look. Recently renovated to the highest standard, the house boasts premium furniture and luxury interiors.

Perfect for socialising, the ground floor has an open plan living and dining room, along with a delightful kitchen.

After a fun day exploring the sights of County Durham, retreat to the living area with your loved ones for a cosy night in. Snuggle up on the sofas and turn on the flat screen Smart TV to keep up with your favourite shows. Beautifully styled, the living area has a butter yellow scheme with touches of additional added through the soft furnishings.

The dining area includes a traditional wooden dining table with four dining chairs. Ideal for family meals and dining with friends, there is ample space for all of your party.

The kitchen is ultra stylish with light white cabinets and smooth wooden worktops. Wonderfully designed, it also has arctic blue walls which complement the space beautifully. You’ll have everything you need for your self-catering stay as The Farmhouse is fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. There are also the added luxuries of a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher.

Head upstairs to the first floor and you’ll find two ensuite bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a king size bed with a comfy mattress and plush bedding. With cosy yellow walls and exposed ceiling beams, this space is tranquil and traditional. Additional pops of colour and luxury are added through soft cushions and there is ample storage space in the room.

Along the hallway is the second bedroom. Boasting the same high finish as the rest of the house, the room has comfortable a double bed with plush white bedding and linens. A truly cosy space to relax, you’ll enjoy your sleep at The Farmhouse.

Unique in style, the ensuite bathrooms have sage green walls and wooden flooring. The ensuite in the king room boasts a walk-in shower, WC and wash basin, while the double bedroom ensuite has a freestanding bathtub, separate shower, basin and WC for your convenience.

Guest access

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to The Farmhouse are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.

On-site parking is available for up to two vehicles.

A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at The Farmhouse per reservation.

Huge space for a two bed farmhouse! Quirky, historic and interesting. We stayed for a funeral so can’t comment on local attractions. The the key lock location is a nightmare - it took me half an hour to find - not good after a stressful 5 hour drive - and the company agent clearly didn’t know where it was either. (It’s on the wall on the right as you drive into the courtyard and their parking is on the right of the building - quite away from the Farmhouse front door if you’re unloading heavy suitcases / dogs / kids etc. ) The street lights aren’t working so it was very dark. The MP’s office staff who work in the building in front of the farmhouse asked us to move our car in the morning. Be aware that the company has an accidental damage policy which adds a minimum £10 to their quoted cost, as well as a £60 cleaning fee so an expensive stay given the location. No private garden for dogs. All that said, I sort of liked it and would probably stay there again.

The house was brilliant, the beds were bigger than described. There was a small outdoor patio area away from the house you could use if wanted. The house was set in a very quiet private road with green areas (brilliant for walking the dog around). The house was much larger than we thought and very clean. Everything worked as it should, the local chip shop (Harry's) was lovely. The local beaches were clean and dog friendly- we spent a lot of our time at seaham glass beach.

beautifully appointed accomodation. The owners have converted the barn to an excellent standard. there is a pub the half moon down the road that offers superb food with a friendly welcome. the checking in was not easy and the keylock location took some finding. this could have been made easier by the hosts but the accomodation more than made up for it. the heating was on for us. some logs would have been an additional welcome as stated in welcome pack but again this did not detract from the beautiful accomodation.

We liked the house, pretty cold when we arrived but the heating east to work. Nice big rooms, great bathrooms and bedrooms. Generally as described except the enclosed garden - it’s absolutely not suitable for a dog to run around. It’s a patio with a couple of benches away from the house. But overall we would rebook.
