Overall the property was very well kept, clean and tidy.
The bedrooms have a really relaxing feel with very comfortable beds, the shower room was lovely and warm and working exactly as it should, these are probably the most important things for us when we book a stay away, a good shower to help relax and a great nights sleep, and the owners have got that perfect here.

The only thing we felt wasn't ideal for the dark winter was the living room light is on a censor and switches on when it detects the slightest movement and the lights are very bright, we had to hang a scarf over the sensor to stop it turning on while we relaxed and watched TV with the non lit room being a lot more cosy! a lamp not as bright as the main lights would be a great addition.

The cottage is situated down a very quiet secluded county lane, you're surrounded entirely by countryside views and peaceful bliss, however Whitby is only a few minutes car journey away, there is plenty of places to visit nearby, it's a great location.

We would definitely stay again and likely will.

Our experience with Host & Stay was unfortunately disappointing. After paying over £800 for a three-night stay, we received an email requesting either a £25 non-refundable fee or a £500 deposit for potential damages. This additional charge was not disclosed on the listing page at the time of booking, which was later confirmed by Airbnb. When we raised this with Host & Stay, they insisted the information had been available, but they then removed it after payment, which was confusing and frustrating.
Upon arrival at the property, we found it in a concerning state of cleanliness. The fridge was filthy, sinks and baths contained dirt and hair, and the beds had visible stains and hair on the sheets. We contacted Host & Stay, who assured us someone would come to clean the property. Unfortunately, no one arrived, and despite follow-up attempts, our messages were subsequently ignored.
Given this experience, we feel unable to recommend Host & Stay and do not plan to book with them in future.

Everything. This was an exquisite find, we will be back. All the interior was refurbished and spotless, real luxury. Beautiful spot, very close to Whitby and lots of amenities nearby.

The cottage has been decorated to a high standard and was very comfortable. We loved the games room and our children were thrilled with the TVs in the bedrooms. We liked that the cottage was clutter free and spacious. The views on the way to cottage were stunning. A short drive to Whitby, where we enjoyed exploring the area and the local food was delicious.
