Great location. Very easy to find foot paths to take dog for walks on. Liked privacy . Very warm and comfortable in the property. Soft linen and extra blankets. Liked the information online pack and additional paper guides. A very comfortable stay and a quiet area.
Wasn't always easy to work out which key fitted which door - They could be colour coded or labled? Shower door had potential to leak as it would not shut securely - had to put towels on the floor at side of bath to soak up any drips from shower door. Although it was lovely to get correspondance from host I didn't like having to pay the unrefundable damage waiver of £35 as the only way of getting directions and key code. For the price we paid I would have assumed the damage insurance would be included.

Entering the courtyard the house looked good , unfortunately only parking for one car so extra guests had to pay for parking away from the property.Entering the property nice and easy with clear instructions, once in the property the smell of animals hits you ,clearly animal friendly place , dog bed ,toys, food and feeding station all present . Unfortunately the smell was throughout the property, unbearable . 3 bedrooms clean and well furnished however the single bed is broken dipped in the middle, leaving the guest sleeping in that room with disturbed nights sleep not good when you have paid a lot for a premium stay in Whitby .
Good shower however leaked leaving the bathroom floor soaked and slippery.
Kitchen good amenities with plenty of pans and cutlery although the knives need sharpening.
Walkable to all attractions in Whitby .
If the issues were addressed may stay again but as it is at the moment definitely not due to the smell!!

We had a great weekend in this lovely property. It is in a great location and the parking is a bonus. Comfortable and quiet property, and the hosts were great. We would definitely return.

Great location, guaranteed parking by the front door, sociable space and a bonus to have an outdoor space. Very short walk into the centre, nicely decorated.
Very minor points - shower spilled a little onto the bathroom floor - coffee machine was missing (but the host planned to replace this on changeover)

Two comfy beds, it was clean and comfy living room.
Single bed mattress was awful. Little pot in the courtyard was full of water and fag stumps. And I've not had part of my insurance returned.

We had a fantastic stay at No. 5 Hoggarth’s Yard. The location is perfect for walking into Whitby town centre.
The house itself is beautifully presented and is exactly how it looks in the photos. The master bedroom is a very good size. The third bedroom is quite small but it wasn’t an issue for us.
I would definitely recommend this property for anyone visiting Whitby and I’m sure we’ll be back!

We've just returned from this modern clean and tidy home to stay. I found it ideal for our short 3 night stay with our two year old labrador it was home from home with nice touches of a provided basket full of toys. An enclosed yard to the rear gave security for the dog as an outside space. The shower was something else in a clean bathroom and with great water pressure. Parking right outside the front door within a courtyard so saved on town parking and convenient for access. A short walk along the harbour into the centre of town and beaches was only 10 minutes away. If I was to return to whitby, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and I would recommend anyone to stay here.

The location, being dog friendly, the garden area and the on site parking was what sold this for us.
We had issues with the parking, another car used our space. So we had to park elsewhere for 2 nights. The mattress on the double bed in the front bedroom was terrible, the springs can be felt and it was an awful nights sleep x3! Downstairs, entire ground floor wasn’t clean. The carpet had a number of stains on. The rug was very grubby. The corner of the coffee table had been chewed. There was a musky smell to the whole room. All window blinds throughout were thick with dust, dead flies in the windowsills. And the seagulls nesting on the roof opposite provided a 24 hour scream fest.

House was a little gem. it was like a home from home. The place had everything that was needed. Even the little touches of making sure that there was tea, coffee, sugar and milk for when you got there. Short walk to the harbour as well.
Even a box of toys for the dog and dog bowls, even though we had come prepared.
Loved this place. Would we come back? Yes we most definitely will be.
Trying to work the TV out so it wasn't blaring the neighbours with the sound bar every time it was switched on

Lovely house and fantastic location.. I've scored this poor as I am still waiting for my £250 deposit back. ?? There is no damage yet have to wait 14 days to get my deposit back into my bank account. It's far too long and never had to wait this long before.. this had put a very negative on what was a lovely stay in a great property and great location.
Waiting for my deposit 14 days

The house is great; comfortable, large enough and well-equipped.
The location is great too. It’s easy to get to the centre of town but far enough away to feel private. I would recommend it.
Booked the property partly because of the travel cot, which was not there. I was told it wasn’t part of the deal. I sent a screen shot of their own list. I was told I was right, nothing could be done feel free to provide our own.
Spent too much of my holiday on admin correcting Host and Stays mistakes.
The property was great and I was treated with courtesy throughout. I can see how it makes things easier when it works but our experience was of a far from efficient.

Clean, comfortable house, nice hot shower, very comfortable beds, big telly, nice yard out back, parking outside the property, close to some nice pubs, short walk to the town. We will definitely be booking again.
A couple of doors were sticking but nothing that detracted from our stay.

We totally loved our stay in Whitby. The house was fantastic. Such a great location. We loved that it was such an easy walk to the town past so many nice, dog friendly pubs!
The house was wonderful. It has been very thoughtfully decorated- the art work in the bedroom is fab. It felt like home instantly.
I would recommend that you take your own tea towel, kitchen cloths and bin bags as there was only one of each provided. We were there for 3 nights over Christmas and this wasn’t sufficient.
But these were only minor things as we truly had a marvellous time - the house is so comfortable and warm and we felt very at home. In fact I never wanted to leave! We will definitely book here again - we fell in love with the house and with Whitby.

Parking was a nightmare all neighbors falling out with each other as people parking in the wrong allowed space be prepared to park elsewhere or not be able to get out .this place needs a complete refurb walls and carpet’s disgusting bathroom suite not sealed up nicely and leak all over floor when complained .they didn’t want to reimburse any money but say they would come around and rectify problems which how is that possible to decorate and fit new carpets while we were staying there be careful on booking with these agents as you get missold and they don’t want to do anything about it

The property is good but could be better, the location is also very good, around a 10 minute walk to the centre of Whitby.
Good size living space and bedrooms, kitchen is well equipped and the outside seating area is a bonus along with the parking.
To bring this property up to a premium standard based on the £200 per night stay the following things need addressing.
1 Living room carpet needs replacing, it has deep stains and is very dirty looking.
2 The mattress needs replacing in the front double bedroom, there is a spring coming through.
3 The walls in general need touching up where they have been scuffed or marked.
4 The constant emails from Host & Stay telling you to do this that and the other are not necessary in my opinion.
5 WiFi pretty average.
If all of the above where addressed, which are not big things, the property would be amazing.

Easy to find. Parking. Accommodation was quite comfortable.
Clean.
Heating was difficult to operate. Kitchen was well equipped but there were a number of chipped mugs. No coffee maker or cafetiere.
The single bed was really a child's bed and this should have been made clear in the description of property.

It was a lovely house and the area was perfect. I can’t give a 5 star rating because there was a slight dog smell and we had to roll up one rug due to pet hair being in it and our 3 year old playing on the floor. It is listed that dogs are allowed there however so this could be expected.
The positives: generally clean, lovely house, felt like a home away from home, cosy and comfortable, good amenities in the centre of Whitby so a very good place to stay over all.

The property was very clean, tidy and spacious for our needs. The kitchen was well stocked of utensils, plates etc. and it was appreciated that a pint of milk had been left in the fridge for us on arrival. An ample amount of clean towels had also been left for our use.
The radiators didn't come on once during our stay despite it being cold enough. We tried turning the thermostat up but to no avail so for the most part, we felt cold in the property. Also, I know it comes down to personal preference but the bed was too soft for my liking and I ended up with a bad back each night. A nice touch would have been to leave some hand wash by the sinks. I've stayed at many self-catering properties before and this was the first time complimentary hand wash wasn't provided.

Property was easy to find with the address and post code provided. A nice 15 minute walk into the centre of whitby, all on flat ground. There is one allocated parking space right outside the front door. Access is through a key box on the front door that you need to put a code in for which will be sent to you before your stay. There is a living area and a kitchen with all the facilities needed which leads onto a small paved yard. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and family bathroom. Also a separate toilet downstairs too. Very modern and clean inside, caters for dogs really well as my boy discovered a toy box in the corner of the room which he loved. We will absolutely staying here again next time we are in whitby!

This is a lovely cottage in a brilliant location
One thing I would mention is that whilst it says there is a cot available when I asked for this to be put in the property a few days before arrival I was told it was a travel cot (fine) but there was no mattress and I would need to bring my own. I’ve never had this at any other property I have stayed at and I don’t think it’s really fair to say there is a cot available when there is no mattress with it.
I would also mention that the room that I put the travel cot in (I ended up taking my own) was really small. There is a king size room with floor space for a travel cot but little girl sleeps better in her own room so I had to put the travel cot in the box room. There was a single bed in there and very little floor space for anything else. It meant I had to put the travel cot against the radiator which is not in line with safe sleep guidance (although the radiator can be turned down)
I also made enquiries about a highchair and was told that one was not available but then one was in the property when we arrived
Despite the issue with the travel cot I would stay at this cottage again. Especially when my little girl is older and we don’t have the need for a travel cot!

The location is excellent, a very easy walk into the town and beach area along the harbour.
Beds were comfortable but duvet far too heavy. Shower lovely.
The fridge was not working. We did not know this, so we placed a lot of food in there, only to find the following day, it was warm. This is far from acceptable and meant we had to throw away a lot of meat and dairy produce.
The wifi was extremely slow and often inadequate for general browsing.

The location is great. It is just a short (and flat) walk into the centre of Whitby. Being so close to the centre but still being easy to get to by car and having off street parking were massive positives for us.

Stayed here for a few nights as part of a stay cation with our young family. The house is beautiful and very well presented. Very good walking location just a 5 minute walk into Whitby town. Had a lovely time.

This place was great. Spotlessly clean with some special hotel-like touches, but with home comforts too. Perfect location and very handy to have our own parking right outside.

A beautiful well maintained property with everything you could possibly want and more. Spotlessly clean, even a box of dog toys which a dogs thought was great . Highly recommend

Place is lovely, clean and tidy. We took our dog and they left out a toy box with dog toys in it,
He loved that, lots of room and everything you need. Place is stylish. A short walk to the harbour which was great. There is only 1 car parking space, but the host provided information on a near car park for our other car.
We will be back thank you again

This is a clean, bright and cosy place to stay within easy reach of the centre of Whitby. I will definitely book this property for my next stay in Whitby. The dog bed, bowls and toys were a lovely touch too.

We had a lovely time staying at No.5 Hoggarths Yard. The property was lovely, very tastefully decorated and sparkling clean! It felt spacious and homely. There was even a bed for our dog, in addition to a small box of dog toys and bowls for her water and food. The kitchen has everything you need with appliances including a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle. The lounge had a huge Smart TV. The little courtyard out the back was ideal for letting the dog out and it was enclosed and secure. We were sad to come home. Communication was great throughout and we didn’t need Stay at all during our time here. You’re just a 10 minute walk to the centre of Whitby and the harbour. We also drove to Dalby Forest, Sandsend beach, Staithes, and Horcum Dyke which were all at most 20 minutes away.
