Stayed here previously and was great. Has changed ownership since, not great anymore. Shower curtain was covered in mould, the house plants were dead, wheelie bin nowhere to be found (so we ended up with a pile of nappies building up all week). A parking clock was provided but no scratch cards meaning we had to plan our days around moving the car. We had chosen the property due to its walkable distance from attractions so this was highly frustrating. We hadn’t expected this as scratchcards were provided the last time we stayed. A quick search on Scarborough councils website showed a 4 day scratch card would have cost the host £2.40, a tiny fraction of what we paid to stay there. Instead we had to unnecessarily drive and pay for car parks, adding to congestion and pollution of the local area.

The actual Bnb is great - comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and in a lovely setting. However, I was disappointed that (for an Airbnb that DEMANDED I either pay £35 up front “in case” something gets broken or give a hefty deposit and pay a £10 admin fee - all which comes out of the blue after paying) there was no hand soap; no kitchen or bathroom cleaning spray; only 5mm of washing up liquid in the bottom of a bottle; 2 loan dishwasher tablets and only one tea towel (when 5 people stayed from Friday to Monday) and not so much as a spare toilet roll. In addition there were no bins outside the property (of any sort) and no response to the “no bins” comment in the visitor book or the “what do I do with the full bin bag and recycling” text I sent to the owners. How do you leave a place “clean” when given nothing to clean with?

Really nice stay in Scarborough. The house had a lovely layout and decor. Felt really at home and would definitely recommend!

The house was lovely, with lots of things that were particularly helpful when travelling with a young family.
There was a high chair & travel cot, and also some children's plates & toys which all totally made life a lot easier!
In addition, there were little shampoos & body washes that were very handy.
What was missing that would have been helpful was washing up liquid, washing powder, and now in December... a tumble drier!

Prachtig verblijf !
Je waant je precies in een interieurwinkel.
De omgeving is de moeite om te doen : Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Pickering.
Ook de wandelpaden langs de kustlijn in het nationale park zijn prachtig.
Op de hoek van de straat is er een winkeltje. En vlakbij ligt de Aldi.
Dankzij de parkeerkaart konden we steeds voor het huis parkeren.
