Downs Farm Granary was an amazing escape. It was peaceful, quiet, and beautifully dark at night. The animals were good fun to watch, including the free-roaming chickens and pheasants.
The Granary is close to the host’s home, but feels miles away thanks to the barn between the two. We were never disturbed unnecessarily; when we did need to speak with our hosts, they were responsive and very pleasant.
The little village of Wye is close by, as is Ashford, and the well stocked Perry Court Farm shop 10 minutes drive away. The directions to the property were spot on and easy to find, even in the dark.
The Granary itself was clean, well presented, and had everything needed for a good stay. Facilities are modern and the shower was wonderfully powerful. The log burner was very effective at keeping the place warm. WiFi was okay but struggled to stream anything - which wasn’t important for us, definitely a good amount of digital detox to be had here.

Wir haben ein wunderschönes und erholsames Wochenende in Kent verbracht. Eine tolle Lage für Wanderungen und Ausflüge nach Canterbury und die Küste. Vielen Dank für den warmen Empfang mit Kaminfeuer. Das Design des Hauses ist wunderschön. Die Küche ist vollständig ausgestattet. Für vier Personen war es wunderbar. Nur ein kleiner Sessel hat uns noch gefehlt. Wir würden sehr gerne bei unseren nächsten Besuch in Kent dort wohnen. Leider hat die Zeit nicht für alles gereicht. Wir können den Pub „The Tickled Trout“ empfehlen.

Lovely area and hosts, WiFi was down for most of our visit however, and was very frustrating.
