Very nice cottage, very good location. The instructions for accessing it are not clear. Robin Hood's Bay is within easy walking distance. We had a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, the wifi and dishwasher were broken, which we would have liked to know before coming, especially since the network is bad in the house. The house was tidy, but the cleanliness left a little to be desired (dirty floor, cobwebs). Despite this, the place is ideal for discovering this very beautiful region.

The house and location were great. Really great quality kitchen ware, bathroom lovely, etc. Map location inaccurate and directions should say that house is behind other houses and hard to see from road. It was pure fluke we found it, but after driving up and down road for 15 mins. Would be useful to have instructions for tv, heating etc rather than having to guess. Dishwasher didn’t work - hope it’s been fixed for next guests. 3rd bedroom staircase extremely steep. Luckily for us, we didn’t need to use it, but it is so steep, I would say unsafe. Overall, we loved the house, gorgeous garden and location. Just a few things to address to make it easier experience.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Colcott Cottage and it truly exceeded all our expectations. Nestled in a stunning rural location, the cottage offers the perfect balance of peace and privacy while still being within easy reach of Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby — both just a short, scenic drive away. From the moment we arrived, we were completely wowed by the garden. It’s absolutely breathtaking — so spacious, thoughtfully designed, and beautifully maintained, with several different seating areas to enjoy the sun, the views, or a quiet moment with a book. It truly felt like our own little slice of paradise. The cottage itself is just as enchanting. It’s pretty and cosy with such charm, and it’s clear that so much care and attention has gone into making it feel like a home. Every little detail has been thought of — it’s incredibly well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Staying here was an absolute joy from start to finish. We

Great place to stay - was a bit tricky to find as the map location didn't seem to match the house , so just in case anyone's hunting - it's opposite a large white bungalow and next to a row of garages , on a grass bank . The village is quiet , there's pub and shop within walking distance , 3/4 mile from Robin Hood's Bay , 10 minutes or so to Whitby. The house it well equipped, comfortable and has lots of character. Has a large garden with chairs . Always felt warm and cozy .

Lovely cottage, beautiful garden and surroundings, very well equipped including kitchen & living space with TV with Sky (but bear in mind there is no microwave). Short walk to a local pub and shop, 15 mins walk from Robin Hoods Bay. Some minor faults (eg nothing in the description that the stairs to bedrooms are small, steep and not the easiest to navigate for older and very young guests) but a lovely stay
