Accomodation as described and in a great location to use as a base for all the local area has to offer. Building itself is showing its age but the flat has been done to a great standard and felt like a little oasis of calm from the very windy weather during our stay. Lovely welcome basket too. Would definitely seek out another stay through Host & Stay.

We stayed in this apartment for 2 nights and we were not disappointed. A beautiful place which was well catered for, clean, and spacious. It has everything you need, including tea bags, coffee, sugar, shower gels, cooking oil, milk sachets and dishwasher tablets. A basket of goodies had been left for us which was a really nice touch. It has a lovely view of the sea from the balcony, with the apartment being warm, cozy and homely. It is a short & pleasant walk down to the centre of Whitby along the sea front. It is Ideally located for exploring Whitby without the need to drive around & find parking. You receive a free parking permit which enables you to park right outside of the building so parking is not difficult or costly. An excellent stay, and would highly recommend. I would definitely return.

Overall we had a good stay. The location is great for the beach. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and is a good climb up about 70 steps. The lift wasn’t working for the first few days and a resident of the building advised us not to use it. The apartment was quite dusty when we arrived. The host offered a cleaning service that we declined, we just got on with it. We managed to park right outside the building which was good. Overall, good.

Apartment was in a nice location and the basics were fine. However, once booked I received a message saying in order to get the check in details I needed to pay either 1. £25 damage waiver which was non-refundable or 2. £250 security deposit which was refundable minus a £10 admin fee. There was a free car park outside the building, however, it was first in first served...so not a guaranteed carpark as implied on the listing. The hamper provided on arrival was a nice touch HOWEVER I would have preferred washing powder/detergent and more than 1 roll of toilet paper to be provided instead. We were given 1 roll of toilet paper for 3 people for 3 days and upon asking the Host, we were that was all they provided and that we would need to go and buy more ourselves - in the previous 12 months of travel this is the first place I have stayed at that I was instructed to buy my own. Table and surfaces needed to be wiped down on arrival before we could use them.

Dirty bedding, unmade beds, rubbish inc. dirty nappies left, wet towels on the floor - took hours to clean the property to a basic standard. Didn't sleep in the beds on the first night - had to go out & buy cleaning products to make the property habitable. Very poor communication from 'Host & Stay' - made no effort to resolve the issues. Shockingly bad!

The apartment itself was a great space in a great location, and the welcome hamper greatly appreciated, however, an out of bounds balcony due to undisclosed building works, was a bit of a shame

We had a lovely couple of nights .great location, very clean apartment, well equipped . We were able to sit and eat breakfast on the balcony too which was a lovely treat in March !

Beautiful apartment in perfect location with free parking. We got a lovely hamper with loads of goodies. It’s only 10 mins walk to the whale bones, not far into Whitby town. Pizza West is the must visit, great atmosphere, amazing foods with excellent service. You have to book a few weeks in advance to get in. The apartment was clean but look up 🕸️ especially while in the shower. The biggest 🕸️🕸️ I ever seen! It’s didn’t bother us. We booked this apartment last mins and it was worth what we paid with reduced price, I wouldn’t pay like to anymore but nowhere is cheap these days. It’s what worth what we paid for a lovely last mins mini break away. Location and apartment couldn’t be anymore perfect with easy parking. Not alot of place have parking in Whitby.

We had a lovely stay at Boutique balcony. The apartment was as described and in a lovely location. The kitchen was well equipped so we had everything we needed. My children loved the bunk beds! The hosts were very responsive and any queries I had were resolved quickly. Thanks for a great base for a few days in beautiful Whitby.

This is my first bad review for Air BnB but it is warranted. I was sent no check in code for the key box. The Metropole towers is part of an old hotel and not a boutique apartment as mentioned in the descriptions. There were several men smoking on the entrance steps when we arrived, me and two children who needed the toilet had to wait in reception whilst the code was found out then I had to call back when the 8 was an A instead. As this was over the phone that was an easy misunderstanding. The beds were clean the rest of the apartment was not. The cutlery was marked with food and had been put away, the floors were dusty with hair and dust in the double bedroom, there were webs hanging from the ceiling above the bunk bed. Skip outside the entrance, broken chairs in the kitchen that could easily have caused an injury to a 4 and 5 year old. The bathroom cabinet and glasses were disgusting and to be honest it just did not warrant the £458 accommodation and £25 non refundable dep fees.

Lovely stay in a lovely apartment. Perfect location just on the outskirts of Whitby Harbour. Little snack basket was a lovely touch. Will definitely stay there again 👍

Great and speedy communication with the host. Easy to find, and plenty of parking (with provided permit), which can be difficult in Whitby. Access was straightforward, as per excellent instructions provided in advance. Apartment was brilliant, lift if needed. Great layout, plenty of room, lovely balcony with views over sea and Abbey. Lovely welcome basket, with some lovely extras we werent expecting. Excellent kitchen with everything we needed. Large living room, with comfy sofas and dining area. Two good sized bedrooms, nice quality bedding. Large shower, nice selection of toiletries. Heating worked well and easy to use. Very handy location, everything walkable in Whitby, apartment is about 5 minute walk from the Whalebones/Capt Cook statue. Stayed as a family with two children (13 &11) would definitely stay there again, the apartment is highly recommended. It felt like a real treat staying there.

Great apartment in a the Old Metropole Hotel. 10 minute walk along the prom into town, beautiful views out to sea from the apartment. Well equipped for a stay with kids and my children loved the bunk beds. Thoroughly recommend eating at Pizza West restaurant which is just a few minutes walk away!

We had a great stay in the apartment for 2 nights and wish we had stayed longer. It is comfortable, done to a high spec, all the equipment you need, and quiet. Good location within a short walk to the attractions. would definitely recommend.

Great apartment in the perfect location. Fab views made even better by Whitby Abbey being illuminated in different colours every night. Simply stunning. Everything you could need to cook with plenty of essentials like salt & pepper, olive oil, tea bags, coffee, sugar etc. As well as every utensil. Very handy having washer/dryer too. Lovely and warm, good storage, neat to lift so great to get bags in but you don't hear the lift from inside the apartment at all. Great apartment, great location, everything you could need or want. Highly recommended.

Excellent
