The apartment was the best we have visited all year (after being to Cambridge, Manchester, Prague and Berlin). It was clean, neat, well stocked etc comfy and quiet. Highly recommend and if visit Whitby would definitely re book
The amount of bulbs in the main lights was "impressive", could get a sun tan sitting under them. 16 in the living room/kitchen, 8 in on bedroom, 8 in hall, maybe either a few less main bulbs or the ability to only use some of them at one time. Alternatively more lamps.

Location was fabulous.
We were without heating for two days and the boiler was situation in the bedroom but was very noisy and made getting to sleep quite annoying.
There was black mould around the shower tray and the upper part of the bathroom radiator. NOT GOOD considering we had to pay a £25 damage waiver which is non refundable and none of the problems were of our doing.

Had a good stay at the apartment this weekend. The Apartment & Parking was a bit tricky to find but it was in a good location, very central to where we wanted to be. The apartment was modern in style and comfortable. few pieces of furniture that could probably do with replacing, but on the whole was great. The only few minor things we would recommend looking at is the window in the bigger room, found it very difficult to open, the blind cord was also broken and the blind slots themselves were dusty (especially near the top). The Bathroom is nice and large, however there is quite a bit of mould around the grouting and bottom of the tiles in the shower. I also think the shower could do with a holder/cage to put your toiletries in for the shower as it meant i had to have my bottles littered around the bottom of the shower. Again not the end of the world, but personally don't like having to bend down all the time to grab stuff. Only minor things however! Overall great stay!

Beautiful, comfortable apartment with an ideal location
1. dirty floors
2. dust on the furniture
3. no hangers for outerwear
4. torn sheets 5. squeaky bed
6. fire alarm that scared us very much and which we were not informed about 7. dirty and musty-smelling staircase

Fairly easy to get keys for access and was fed was formation via booking.com and emails. Felt secure and safe. Felt hidden away and decent location.
Being nip picky tbh. The bed was very squeaky and didnt have a tin opener. Having a 2yo it was difficult to lug all our stuff up. Luckily on first floor.

Very comfortable beds and bedding
Good location
Coffee table chipped and rather scruffy compared with everything else. Shower pressure and temperature very unreliable.
Great difficulty with keybox - staff very helpful but buttons were jamming.
Despite a string of emails prior to our trip I couldn't find one giving the entry code, (still can't) and initially used a pin code I was sent until finally the young woman I spoke to sent information via WhatsApp.
I emailed about a parking permit prior to leaving home but was told you didn't provide them, although I was sure I'd seen it when I initially booked. My husband went and paid for long stay parking while I was trying to gain access, then we found parking permits in the accommodation.
Hangers provided, but no drawers for underwear etc. OK for a short stay for a couple but not for a family of four.
Not very satisfactory.

The property was easy to find and access. It was very clean and perfect for a short break. Being left enough dishwasher tablets and tea/ coffee was a nice bonus.
We hadn’t realised that the parking was in a public car park and not onsite. The car park was quite close but was an added extra expense and tricky to balance the time management of a 24 hour parking ticket so it didn’t need renewing at an awkward time during the day. Having said that, residential parking in the centre of Whitby is scarce and the flat was well located for easy access to all Whitby’s amenities and the car park was only a few minutes walk away.

Central location
Damage deposit. The £25 damage waiver should be included in the price of the booking. The option to pay a £250 deposit is fine, however there should be zero reason for a deduction due to administration fees upon return. It seems a rather poor practice to make a deduction from a deposit default, whether damage has occurred or not. Surely administrative costs are part of running a business?

Very centrally located.
We were required to pay and extra £260 to get access to the property which it does not state on booking. We had already paid in advance. This was to cover any damage to the property and £250 was to be refunded if no damage. The £10 was an admin fee. There were stained carpets, tables and walls on arrival.

I DO NOT recommend this place. STAY ELSEWHERE, there are nicer places in Whitby.
The location of the apartment is great, but the furniture is cheap (rickety beds and stained couch) and the thermostat was programmed to uncomfortably cold temperatures overnight.
The worst part was the hidden damage deposit. Apparently Host & Stay was grandfathered in so it is technically allowed. However they INSIST you pay the deposit outside the Airbnb platform using Superhog. You can choose whether to transfer a £250 deposit (which you may not get back) or pay £25 non-refundable coverage. Airbnb will not help you cancel your booking if you are not comfortable with this, but in my case I asked them to credit me the £25. Then Superhog incorrectly converted £ to CAD$ and tried to upcharge me the difference. Host&Stay initially wanted me to sort this out, but I told them this is their system and theirs to deal with. In the end, Superhog sent me an invoice for £25. The whole thing smelled like a scam.

Really enjoyed our stay. Location couldn’t be better and had everything we needed. The apartment was clean, tidy, well designed and heats up super fast so is lovely and warm once you pop the heating on. Parked on the nearest W zone, which was only a 5 min walk away. The only thing I’d change is the extra £25.00, non-refundable charge that you’re asked to pay after you’ve already paid the cost of the stay. If necessary, this surely should be included in the initial charge. The choice given is pay the £25.00 to cover any ‘damage’ or transfer £250.00 to be returned, minus an admin fee, after you leave and the cleaner has confirmed all is well. I’ve never come across this before and prefer all costs to be visible upfront.

The location is perfect. We could walk ount the door, and there is a bit of a high street. Then turning right, a minutes walk takes you straight on to the harbour area.
Also, if you cut through an ally, you are on the cliff tops with a beautiful view.
There are plenty of places to eat, and I spent a lot of time chatting to people in the pubs, it is a very friendly place.
The flat was spacious, and well kept, and is a very nice place to come back to after a day of exploring.
Wish I could of stayed longer.
The owners kept in constant contact before the visit, even if I did not have time to reply to all, it was very nice.
There was not really anything I did not like. The flat was perfect for our needs.
We all loved our time there and did not want to leave.

Blinds in living area were no good, the cord was not long enough, you had to climb on a stool to reach the end of the cord!
Beds not very comfy, cheap metal frame which was very creaky.
Dimmer switch needed on lights in living room.
Bench at table is about to fall apart.
Lighting outside entrance not bright enough.
Very expensive for what it was, would not use again and would not recommend.

Parking could have been explained in more detail. Ie 1 hour on a disc outside property, to unload. Discs free in most shops. Then use parking ticket from property. Property very damp smelling. Other than that, could have been just a little cleaner.

Location was great.
Carpets were mucky. Table was dirty it hadn't been wiped down. There were hairs on the towels in the bathroom.
Nowhere on booking.com does it mention they require a £250 security deposit taking £10 for admin or £25 non refundable for damage?!?! I booked for 4 adults... Not a children's party of 30 kids. I feel this is very over the top and unnecessary considering it was not a sparkling clean apartment. The ask you to clean mucky or sandy paws when entering... Obviously previous guests didn't take notice...

The location was great, the apartment had everything you need.
Outside the apartment down the ginnel was absolutely covered in bird poo. Pigeons everywhere that woke you up cooing on a morning. I know this is out of your hands but quite annoying. The apartment had everything you need, but needs some TLC. The carpets r dirty the walls and the skirting boards need a lick of paint.

The apartment had everything we needed and is in a great location only a few minutes walk away from the centre which is great. The only down fall was the strange smell that we could smell as soon as we walked in. The bathroom smelt like sewage which wasn’t great and as a whole probably needed a deep clean throughout. Other than that it was great. Thanks for having us.

Great location right in the centre of town. Lovely apartment.
Sadly the alley is very dirty as at the stairs and the main entrance to the building from the pigeons that have made home in the alley outside. Everything from the floor transfers to your feet them trails through the carpets. Even inside the apartment the carpets were marked and stained. Might be better to use lino which cleans easier. Not very easy for people with mobility issues either as the stairs are quite steep and hand rails not in an ergonomic position.

Great location in very much the centre of the town, but also in a quiet alley. Very well equiped and well organized with the online guide to facilities etc.

Fantastic location and lovely layout. Spacious and modern bathroom and bedrooms. Sits in a good walking distance of everything really.
The smaller bed is exceptionally creaky. I had read this before and noted the response that it was going to be looked at but it was disturbing through the night.
Also wish we had taken slippers as the hall way carpet needs a really good clean. There were stains all over. Some previous guests have clearly not respected the place.

Great location. Property had everything we needed.
Some aspects of the property were a little bit grim. Toilet brush caked in toilet roll, hadn’t been cleaned in a long time by the looks of the brown water in the holder. Shower head had algae like mould on (which washed off easily but not the point)
Foundation smears scattered around the property - on the washing up liquid, the carpets, the window sill. Dusty lampshade. Also - squeakiest bed in the world.
Just a few little grim things like put me off feeling completely comfortable. Luckily I packed my slippers and we were out a lot.

Modern apartment big enough for family of four and great location
Pressure washing outside in alley way obviously splashed on main door so pigeon poo all over door very unhygienic and no proper rubbish disposal I wasn’t keeping fish n chip rubbish in apartment so when out to use street litter bin. Also £250 accidental damage money taken from my account this wasn’t advertised when booking (put me into my over draft very sneaky) and hoping it goes back into my account asap as I’m being charged by my bank now!

Great location, excellent facilities, perfect for a getaway with friends or family. I’ve stayed in a few locations in Whitby and this was the most centrally based. Would 100% return
The only small critique was that the bed in the bigger room was very very creaky, to the point that if you sat on the bed, or turned over in the night it was extremely noisy. This could easily be rectified by a new bed frame. But other than that great apartment

The beds are far too creaky, we had the worst night's sleep in a long time because every time we turned over the noise was crazy. The Location
It was dirty , some of the furniture was damaged. The carpet was stained the walls were marked I needed to wipe some walls clean when we first arrived. Parking away from property is not ideal. Exact location of property a little difficult to find as its not clear where Hudsons Yard is in the description. We stumbled on it by accident. The facilities and decor is modern and well located
The mattresses were very soft, and due to the fact the washing machine was not plumbed in correctly (hoses were not connected) this caused a water leak which in turn tripped a fuse and the subsequent management support in rectifying this was poor. The call out plumber did not arrive after we had waited up until 12:30 am. The plumber arrived next morning was very good but surprised that he had not been contacted the previous evening as he was on call.

The location was good
The parking was to far away.
We stayed in apartment one which was at the bottom but we still had a flight of stairs to climb which was not specified.
There was no Wi-Fi none of the codes worked.

Property was clean and tidy, with everything you needed. Great location.
The area at the main door into the building was filthy along with the stairs up to the apartment, really nasty smell, thick with dust, carpets filthy, not a good first impression. Outside thick with bird poo, needs a bucket of hot water and bleach every day in my opinion. Once inside the apartment it was fine.

self check in. very clean, spacious, very near to all attractions. Handy online guide book.
no parking near to the property, quite noisy due to proximity to a number of bars, pigeons and seagulls on the roof, people coming back to the other apartment on the communal stairs which also triggered a security light which shone through the window.

Fantastic location
Comfortable apartment
The only problem we had was the blinds in both bedrooms let in so much light that it was hard to sleep.

A hidden away central location with great amenities. Clean, well furnished, great communication and a pain free lock box for getting in, overall a really easy experience

Everything. Leaving milk in the fridge was a lovely idea! :-) location was amazing, decor and cleanliness was excellent. The host was very informative. Will definitely stay again soon! :-)
I still had a great sleep but if there was anything I'd improve (being picky) it would be to get a more sturdy bed frame (stayed in the bedroom furthest from the living room).

Location was spot on . Very comfortable apartment . Only issue was there was a smell in the bathroom that was constant.
Just the odour in the bathroom possibly drains

There was nothing not to like. We stayed for 3 nights and on the second night the heating wouldn’t work. Within 30 minutes an engineer arrived and sorted it. So impressed!

Beds are very comfortable
Location is great
Modern
Great kitchen facilities
Shower was excellent pressure
The alley way to apartment and the door and its handle was covered in seagull poo. The stair carpet in the entrance was covered in dirt and bird feathers from the alleyway.
The window in our back bedroom didn't stop the breeze blowing through. We were not sure if its double glazed because of the noise from near-by pubs and seagulls

Location was excellent, free parking and very central with everything in Walking distance. Apartment was clean and really well stocked. Washing up liquid, tea towels, cloths etc which is really important for a short stay where you don’t want to have to buy loads of things. They even put a pint of milk in the fridge and ther was tea/coffee/sugar.
Beds were quite squeaky! Central location means you can hear people coming home from the pub in the evening but that’s a small thing and not an issue if you’re out enjoying the evening as well.

location superb, it was spotlessly clean, very warm and welcoming and also quiet.
it’s a minor gripe but TV could do with being on a swivel arm so you can watch easily from the living area.

Good location, good size and quite new
The property wasn't clean when we arrived. So I had to spend the first evening cleaning (cleaner didn't come to rectify until the following day which was too late as I already lost time cleaning myself). The carpets have seen better days and are due a proper cleaning.
Even though they charge a cleaning fee of £60 per stay, you are required to 'Please wipe down all hard surfaces with the antibacterial products
provided'. As a result, the cleaning standard depends on how thorough has been the previous guest when they checked out.
I wouldn't recommend for a short stay as you will have to clean on the first day...
In addition, the add was misleading because even though you are provided with scratch card for parking. These are in the W zone which isn't that close and parking is very limited. Loading the car with two kids was a challenge.
If you are planning to eat there, please be aware there are only 3 forks

Location excellent for walking around, exploring Whitby. selection of restaurants within 5-10 mins walk.
WEll equipped kitchen. Ideal for two people.
Prompt help with boiler - see below.
Heating - Flat at 10degreesC when we arrived at 3.30. No instructions for controlling the boiler (whole booklet about installing and maintenance) Flat only reached 16 degrees by end of first evening. O.K. after that.
WIFI- Went off sometime on Saturday while we were out. Reported it first thing Sunday morning. Told we SHARED it with Apart 2. Still not solved by 3.00p.m. Sun p.m. Reported lack of wifi again and it came on later. Then tried to watch Netflix around 9.00.p.m. that evening to be told by Netflix Wifi overloaded (obviously by second apartment) so no use unless we paid. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
Street Parking - Not told we would be parking some way from the apartment - ten minutes walk. Spent some time trying to find a space. Also because we were staying 3 nights and our 'voucher' only lasted for 2 we had to ring up again and ask for a second voucher for the third night. In February it was easy to park just for an hour close to the flat to unload. During summer season I think it would have been difficult . Parking arrangements were understandable because of the nature of Whitby's situation but I do think future clients need to be warned.

Great location, comfortable and very clean, credit to the housekeeping.
Finding somewhere to park, but understand its difficult as it's nice in Whitby with tourists. Price as gone up nearly £200 for next year!! Cannot understand why?

The apartment is beautiful and really well appointed, everything you need. Very clean and the beds we’re comfortable, however the apartment was very noisey. The foot traffic and night life was very loud from the bedrooms, the apartment above is also quite loud. 1st night lots of noisy drunk girls and second night a couple doing the nasty til the wee hours. Nothing the host can obviously do about the noise but perhaps we might not of booked if we had known. All in all the apartment is gorgeous and the location is top, of your looking for a restful sleep then maybe not the place.

Wow! Just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay in this place. The apartment is beautiful, spotless, and stylish. We instantly felt relaxed and at home. It has a really well equipped kitchen with everything we needed, the dishwasher was a bonus, and the Nespresso machine a treat. The bathroom was spotless and has a really powerful shower. And the bedrooms; stylish and so so comfortable we didn’t want to get out of bed. Checkout was really easy, we followed a few requests for Covid safety, and the parking vouchers were easy to use and we had a space really close to the flat. We really enjoyed staying here and I would highly recommend.
