We had a lovely couple of nights in Guisburough. Acorn Cottage was exactly as it had been described. The location was fantastic, a few minutes walk from some lovely, dog friendly, cafes and restaurants!

Overall, it's a lovely little cottage, perfectly sized for two people. The pictures do the place justice; it all looks homely and comfortable. Guisborough is ideally placed for exploring the area and driving to the coast.
A couple of things that were not obvious from the description - 1) the cottage is located on the main road in Guisborough, which means you can hear the traffic noise (however, this is probably not a problem for everyone), and 2) some of the door frames in the cottage are quite low, not a problem if you are 5'7, but once you are over 6 foot you have to duck.

Lovely little cottage. Immaculately clean. Lovely welcoming touches such as coffee milk and brownies for us and treats and other stuff for the dog. Great bathroom. Useful little outside yard which was great for the dog and also to keep open as we had hot weather during our stay. Not far from coastal towns and villages. Would highly recommend for a couple. And a dog

Really lovely cottage. Bed really comfy. Beautiful bathroom. In good location. Goodies left for us and dog was a lovely touch. As people have already mentioned road noise can be an issue take earplugs and it’s all good 😊

Lovely little cottage in the centre of Guisborough. Easy walk to lots of pubs, restaurants and shops. Beautiful scenery on the doorstep. Would recommend!

It’s absolutely beautifully appointed, calm & welcoming from the first minute you enter.

Location of plug sockets in the bedroom, only really for a hair dryer, which I do understand being an older property, & connection to the internet, is okay if you’re internet savvy, for older people not so easy.

Loved staying at acorn cottage, the only downside is the road noise, the location is perfect in regards to amenities, and lots of places to visit within 30 minutes of the cottage the welcome basket for us and for Frank the frenchie were also amazing ❤️

Nice, clean space inside and out. Walking distance to nice walks for the dog on the hills and the high street for shops, coffee shops and pubs. If I was nitpicking it is located on fairly busy / noisy road and difficult parking close to house. Would definitely stay again though.

We had the most amazing stay at this lovely clean cottage. A really cute place to stay and relax by the fire.
Our visit ended up also being our engagement as my partner proposed to me up roseberry topping so made even more special and a lovely place to celebrate.

Acorn Cottage was very tastefully decorated,I could see it had been recently renovated to a high standard . it was very clean and comfortable inside. Just A couple of things that would need attention, the Extractor fan in the shower area did not work at all. Also I was surprised there was not an extractor fan over the hob area in the kitchen, I found when cooking you really need to open the back door to allow the steam out. The Front door was a bit temperamental to lock , not easy sometimes. We had a great stay
10 out of 10 Guisborough is a lovely town ,local Food and drinks on your doorstep and an excellent base for exploring the east coast and Yorkshire national park.

Lovely cottage
My criticism is that the doors were really hard work, the locking mechanism on both doors were tricky to open and lock, felt it was a health and safety issue.
The cottage would benefit from new windows and doors on the front as it’s really noisy.
The cottage was clean with nice fixtures and a beautiful bathroom, nice outside courtyard to enjoy.
Good location for getting around to plenty of lovely places

It was a lovely cottage and felt very homey and comfortable. We had all the conveniences we needed. Everything was neat and clean. We were close to town and could easily walk there.
We had a wonderful time there and felt comfortable and at home there.
It was a nice surprise that when we arrived there we had a welcome basket with bread, cookies and other items. We would be happy to stay there another time.

Cottage was superb, location ideal for all local amenities, all the added extras made the stay spot on.
Bathroom spacious and comfortable bed.
Modern kitchen and appliances. Plenty dishes and utensils. Enclosed private garden with chimnea and BBQ. superb.
Loved the welcome basket of goodies for us and the special one for our dog. 😊 such a special touch.

The busy road and the speed of traffic made us a little uncomfortable with the dog as door took you directly onto the street. You had to be super aware when opening the door. The key was a bit of a fiddle with the doors as often stuck and made it difficult to lock and unlock.
The abundance of crockery/ utensils and full size fridge freezer and dish washer was fab but this limited the storage space for food stuffs and dog food etc.

A great little characterful cottage, everything you could need for your stay. Just a short walk from the towns high street and all supermarkets a short drive or walk away.
The private rear courtyard was good for sitting out in an evening and all the facilities were of good quality.
Would recommend and may well book again. Many thanks.
