very well equipped and comfortable. Well located for Whitby as easy to walk into town. some great views from the apartment. Also a good base for seeing the sights of the moors and pretty villages as not too far to drive. Lots of parking available on West Cliff so really convenient.

Good value for the money easy parking for the car. Clue is in the title of the building if you like steps lol. Area was quiet and peaceful. Short walk down into the town good view of the Abby plenty of places to eat and drink. Would stay again when I’ve got fit to tackle the steps. Enjoyed the stay.

A very lovely apartment, situated in a great spot on the west cliff nearby to plenty of local amenities. Easy to find, a touch difficult going up to the top floor after a day of travelling but we'll worth it at the top. Disappointing we had to cut our stay short and leave early the Sunday morning, but family circumstances can hardly reflect on the place now can they

As a base to come and go on foot, Abbey Heights was well located & provided all we needed. Host&Stay sent conflicting confirmations with different addresses, and repeatedly asked us to check in online even when we’d done so. I called and H&S clarified where we were staying & that check-in was done. The e-guidebook was good (though the postcode was wrong). Should have been a parking permit in the flat but wasn’t. Called H&S and one was dropped off half an hour later. Big prob was that the door handle on the inside of the front door was missing. It was on the floor! We could have got stuck inside with no way to get out (the flat was on the 4th floor!). This must’ve been noticed by the H&S team - why wasn’t it fixed before we arrived? Called H&S again who sent a maintenance man within 2hrs. He did a “quirky” quick fix on the handle which didn’t look great but did the job. From then on, it was fine & the flat did what we needed it to do. Shame we had the issues before and during arrival.

Location etc. and the property-type was fine, but the standard of cleanliness was vile. I’ve never seen anything so bad. There was filth and dust everywhere, stains on the floors and on kitchen appliances and crockery, there were stains and hairs in the beds and shower and the shower drain was blocked which flooded the bathroom. I’ve raised a complaint with Air B&B and provided over 20 photos - shame I can’t post them to this review.

Really happy with our stay. Great views of whitby abbey from window. Very clean, easy check in and hosts very proactive with info throughout. Some folks have highlighted that there's a few stairs to tackle in reaching the apartment. But if that's enough to dissuade you then I don't think you should be visiting whitby in general as its all stairs and steep hills! :) LOVED OUR STAY. THANK YOU!

Ok so don’t book this place if you have mobility issues. If you don’t it’s fantastic! Extremely reasonable, clean , great location and amazing views of the Abbey. We found getting in a little tricky but once we did we had no problems with the room at all. Had everything we needed for a family of 4 asap base for our little get away. No problems with the WiFi or Tv. Only issue we had was when we were leaving I took the rubbish out the back and a plank of wood had fallen off the stair case do quite a drop below and I had to hop over it to go down the wooden steps - this was a little scary as not keen on heights. I reported it so hopefully that’s fixed now. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again - in fact our youngest wants us to book it again next year. Location is great close to the Whale bone on West cliff.

We loved our stay at this apartment. Everything was lovely inside, clean and ready to use. Location was spot in, few minutes walk down the popular centre of Whitby. One thing I will comment on, it wasn’t much of a problem but, the post code in the brochure they sent us didn’t actually match where the apartment was. But a quick google maps search showed us the right way. Beware of stairs if you have problems with mobility there’s lots and lots of em. Although we enjoyed the exercise, made us feel less guilty about eating fish and chips every night. Would return, highly recommend :) thanks again

We had a very enjoyable two night break in Whitby and this apartment was ideally located to walk into the town and visit the local attractions. Great views over the bay to the Abbey. The apartment was spacious and clean, with basics all provided - tea bags, washing up liquid, soaps etc making it easy upon arrival. The only downside was the mattress in the main bedroom; felt like it was on a slope… could probably benefit from an upgrade. Otherwise had a very enjoyable stay.

Had a great few days at the property. The place was very clean and very close to the town centre. The check-in was very manageable with the lock-box, the only slight issue was that the email we received had a slightly different location to the listing but it was still an easy place to find. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a few days stay at Whitby.

Perfect place to stay in Whitby. We have stayed in that area before and it is close enough to everything whilst still being able to get the car parked. Parking is always a problem in Whitby but we find that the area usually has space somewhere close by. View of Abbey from lounge is stunning. Only downside is carrying luggage up them stairs, but once its done a perfect place to relax.

the apartment was comfortable, clean and in a good location, and Host & Stay were good communicators for the most part, however there were a few issues. The hot water wasn't switched on when we arrived so we couldn't wash that evening, and even once we located the switch (not mentioned in instructions), the hot water was patchy throughout our stay. the kitchen lacked a few necessities imo - sharp knives and oven gloves. and Host & Stay didn't provide enough parking permits and only delivered a new one after the original expired meaning we had to get up early to move the car ten minutes walk away - not ideal. there's also a lot of stairs - only book if you're young and fit, and don't have too much luggage!

The apartment was nice, quite small and looking a bit tired but the location was fantastic. There are also a lot of stairs so please be mindful when booking. I think it could have been a little cleaner, there were stains on the floors. Also not sure why there was no washing up liquid (only dishwasher tablets but we couldn’t find a dishwasher). All the cutlery didn’t look very clean either (maybe due to no washing up liquid). The mattress is the main bedroom is also completely gone - it sank down in the middle. Just a few little tweaks and the place would be amazing but was relatively good value for a short break away.

We were so disappointed that the flat was freezing cold on arrival. We had read the previous review, contacted the company and were told that the radiator in the living room had been looked at and fixed. We called the helpline and the maintenance guy who came out confirmed the radiator hadn't been looked at for some time because the fuse was completely corroded and the fuse box was melted. We were disappointed to have been lied to and had to cook our dinner with coats and hats on while our children cried and asked us to drive back home. They provided plug in heaters which were fine for the weekend. Agree with previous review that the mattress in the double bed is very uncomfortable - one half normal, other half very soft. Difficult to get a good night's sleep on it. There were used toiletries left in the shower but otherwise the flat was clean. Apart from the heating, it's a lovely flat in a great location with beautiful views of the Abbey.

The location of the accommodation was good, unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The radiator in the living room doesn't work & the double bed mattress is a specialist 'half firm / half soft' type - probably designed for a specific couple. Not ideal in a rental property, my wife and I couldn't use it - we slept in the two single beds. I reported these two issues to host & stay and just got a standard email stating that 'housekeeping had been informed' but nothing was resolved. The single glazed windows are poorly fitted and draughts whistled through them. There was no hot water for washing dishes or hand washing - we had to boil a kettle. The appartment was dusty and the bathroom had grime where attention to detail is required. We couldn't access the property until 4pm and needed to leave by 10am due to 'deep cleaning being completed', I can accept this but we didn't see evidence of it. At a cost of £450 for a 66 hour stay, not value for money in my opinion.

We had an excellent stay at Abbey Heights. The first thing worth noting is that it’s a fourth floor walk up, no lift. It wouldn’t have been a problem for just me and my partner but it was a struggle with a baby, pram and older mother. The flat however is lovely and spacious, it has all the things you would expect from an Airbnb. It’s very convenient to the beach as well as the shops.
