We had a lovely stay at the Old Thatch. The cottage was beautiful, clean and exactly what we needed as our base to explore the Cotswolds. The welcome package of bread, milk, butter and wine was a very nice touch, and the homeowner John was very friendly when he came to introduce himself and again when we bumped into him in the pub! Overall a very pleasant stay, would stay again.

We love our long weekends at The Old Thatch, Bredon. The home is welcoming, warm cosy and easy to settle into. It's perfectly located for peace and quiet but also close enough to pop to the lovely Tewksbury and explore the area. Highly recommended !

Exactly like in photos, cute place and good location. One minor inconvenience is that once booked, you give your info to a third party verification service and also need to pay for either 25£ insurance or 5£ (fee) + 250£ (refundable deposit).

This cottage is a little gem, perfectly located for the 2 of us to visit our family in nearby Twyning. It's cosy & well furnished, very clean with great parking. Snug lounge, which would be great in the winter with the wood burner lit. The heating was left on for us overnight which was great, given the English summer has failed to materialise! The installation of a shower instead of make shift over the bath would make it perfect. Bed is a double and you have to walk through the lounge to get to the bathroom, so really only suitable for 2 adults (kids could sleep in sofa bed). Food in the local pub, Fox & Hounds was really good, only a 4 mins walk and they were very welcoming. We had a great stay.

Lovely home and we will definitely be back. John the host met us on arrival and was an absolute credit to his beautiful property. Unfortunately ‘Guest Homes’ who manage the property for the owners hadn’t bothered to pass on our messages. They were very robotic in their responses to messages and lacked any compassion when our circumstances changed. This is a real contradiction to how pleasant and polite the actual host is. It’s a real shame ‘Guest Homes’ put a cloud over an overall great trip. Cannot fault the property or its idilic location.

What a lovely little cottage. It was well equipt with everything you need for a short stay. We had a nice welcome message from John the owner who had put some milk, bread & butter, a bottle of wine and some snacks in the fridge for us. We were not expecting that. The bed was comfy, the cottage clean, and plenty of nice towels. It was quite dark as the windows are small but there was plenty of mood lighting. There are clean instructions for everything electrical. A quiet off-road parking space outside too. We were attending a wedding at Bredon Mannor so the location was perfect as we just took a stroll across the road to the church and venue. The local pub is also very good. Thanks for a great stay.

Would visit again in a heartbeat! John and Susie are the most amazing hosts, and couldn’t do enough for us whilst staying and were so helpful on advising us places to visit and see during our stay. The cottage is perfect, and has everything you need! It was exceptionally clean and had lovely personal touches which made it feel like a home from home stay. It’s very spacious and the bed is unbelievably comfortable. The location is great, with the local pub just a 5 minute walk and all the lovely must-see cotswold towns a 25 minute drive away. We loved our stay, and will absolutely be back when we can! Thank you for having us.

Lovely little place to stay and relax, well equipped. The closeby pub and co-op shop are convenient and have good options both for eating in and staying out. We used the patio outside as it was very sunny - and therefore had some chances to meet the owner John and his partner Suzy - who are very nice people and gave us some great recommendations for things to do. Overall, a lovely stay we can recommend!!

Amazing little place, was absolutely perfect for our stay :) John was absolutely lovely, we saw him as we were leaving and he made sure we enjoyed our stay and had no issues. Very welcoming place in a very peaceful area. Was amazingly presented and incredibly clean upon arrival, very clear guide book and instructions for anything we may have used or needed. The driveway was also very easily accessible and tucked away so I knew my vehicle was safe and secure at all times. 11/10 would stay again🤝

We were attending a wedding at Bredon Manor, which was a 2 minute walk away, and celebrating a birthday and this property was fantastic for both. It is in a perfect location for exploring, and equally the house was so cosy and well done out it is perfect for kicking back and relaxing. There were 4 of us and the house didn't feel cramped; even the sofa bed was comfy! Even though we didn't manage to cross paths with out host in person, they left us a lovely personalised note welcoming us, as well as leaving a lovely car package of butter, bread, milk, wine, and many more things! Our host was also really responsive via message, and gave really clear instructions on how to check in. We would definitely visit again!

Beautiful cute cottage. Everything you could want for a peaceful stay. This was very well equipped with all the basics something you don’t always get. It was very clean and tidy and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. The pub that’s a five minute walk away was friendly and served lovely food. A big fat 5 star rating for this stay.

Filthy and infested with insects. Cleanliness was not a priority here, as evidenced by the rampant dust and grime clearly accumulated over an extended period of time without seeing a vacuum or mop. An impressively sizeable population of spiders had taken up residence. We gave up removing them after the 20th or so... the 3 cockroaches we discovered throughout our stay were much more disturbing! It was truly disgusting. The bedroom had a really unpleasant odour, the flush in the toilet would jam, the carpets and walls were covered in an array of stains, and all sorts of unidentifiable remnants were scattered around the floor - including a thick layer of dust and food chunks discovered within a crevice near the sofa, disturbingly close to the area where my young son was playing. The overall sanitation was so poor that it didn't feel safe to let him explore barefoot. I feel bad as the host was friendly, but this property was in a completely unacceptable state.

After a long journey, including a flat tyre and roadside assistance, The Old Thatch was the ideal place to arrive to. It’s calming and comfortable interior and thoughtful touches from the host meant the stresses of our day disappeared completely! The local pubs just a few minutes walk were lovely & within 30 minutes we were at some of the most beautiful Cotswold destinations. We couldn’t recommend this wonderful cottage enough…and can’t wait to return in the future!

Had a very lovely stay. Everything was wonderful on arrival, the cottage was warm and cosy on a very cold day. There was a personalised note left in the cottage along with a small welcome pack to help us get settled in (Bread, Milk, Tea & Coffee, Biscuits etc). Everything was exactly as described which made the whole experience hassle free, it was very clean when we arrived as well. It was a beautifully quiet and peaceful location too, which made the stay very relaxing.

A cute half-timbered house in the heart of the famous Cotsword, surrounded by bucolic villages. Everything in the house is thoughtful and carefully decorated, clean, quiet and cozy, on the patio near the house everything is green and in flowers. Wine and treats added a great experience to the house. Everything is super - we highly recommend it.

Cute cottage stay, with a lovely host. The cottage was immaculate, and a beautiful refurbished old structure with all the modern amenities. The garden was also beautiful. Host provided us milk, bread, snacks and even wine! Plenty of extra towels and bedding too. There is a SPAR nearby as well as a few eateries. Do bring your own shower gel though. Great base to explore the Cotswolds, we drove to Bourton-on-the-water and Broadway which is 45-60 mins away.

A lovely little cottage in a pretty village with parking and Wi-Fi. Everything was well presented and spotlessly clean, the kitchen furnished with all that you might need and the bed was really comfortable. Our only criticism was the price which we thought was a bit too high for just one bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge. Otherwise full marks - an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds.

Lovely little place to stay. Would definatly recommend. Myself and partner stopped there with our 1 year old Son and there was plenty of room for a travel cot. Lovely location 10 mins from Tewkesbury and great base to travel to other places in Cotswolds (which is what we did). Really good communication. On arrival we were left a bottle of wine, food essentials which is really lovely touch and unexpected. Clean and personally I found the bed to be very comfortable with enough cushions. Would 100% stop here again!

This is a gorgeous barn conversion, hotel level cleanliness and a really well stocked kitchen if you're wanting to cook for a partner or family! TV with Netflix is lovely for the evening, and the welcome box with wine was a really nice touch. Car is probably necessary in order to reach most places, but feels really secluded and private :) However, don't be fooled by the picture of the fireplace. Unless we came on a bad day, you aren't allowed to use or even touch it, which isn't made clear in the listing. Overall had a lovely time, and recommend for a staycation :)

Lovely quaint property to stay in a lovely area! Easy check in and good communication. Parking easy. It had everything we needed inside and TV with Netflix if staying inside a lot. Really lovely welcome box too! However, there was a really pungent smell (like really strong cheese) coming from the fridge area which was quite unpleasant for our whole stay. The mattress isn't particularly comfortable, you fall into the middle and can feel/hear the springs through it. The whole place could be cleaner too. Having said this, we did enjoy the space, it was just those things that let it down for us.

Stayed here when attending a wedding at nearby Deer Park Hall - great location for it. Owner was very friendly - welcoming us and making us feel at home. Lovely welcome box in the cottage with some essentials plus some treats. Plenty of space for parking. Cottage is cosy but well organised. Sofa bed in lounge was comfy and easy to put together each night. The place is well stocked with all the bits you might need - iron, hairdryer, well-equipped kitchen, etc. Just beware the cottages - it is an old cottage after all! Would recommend if you’re in the area. Thanks for a great stay.

A quiet cottage in a village with a comfortable double bedroom and large sofa bed in the sitting room. There is a well equipped kitchen as well.

We had an excellent stay at the Old Thatch and found the host John, most helpful and charming. I would absolutely recommend guests to stay here, we found the cottage to be well stocked and clean, although found the bed to be not the most comfortable. We loved the area and stayed here the night before our daughters wedding, so will definitely return to the Old Thatch for a nostalgic stay in the future.

Lovely little cottage, perfectly situated for exploring. Just a few miles outside of Tewkesbury so shops are a short drive away. Really nice pub a 5 minute walk from the cottage. Host is very friendly, easy check-in and check-out with a lock box, and great communication with queries.

Had a mini break to the cotswolds, stayed at the little thatch, great location and accommodation very comfortable. Would certainly stay again if I’m the area.

The cottage is a lovely base for exploring the cotswolds. It is clean and has everything you need for a short break. The hosts were lovely and left us a welcome basket of bread, biscuits, butter and milk. We would highly recommend visiting the local pub Fox and Hound (especially for the Tuesday steak night which was a great deal and great food). We loved our time there and would highly recommend!

I can’t recommend this lovely little cottage enough! Not only is it beautiful it all it’s character glory, it’s in an amazing location with stunning surroundings. We had the absolute pleasure of meeting the owner/host who was one of the most genuinely lovely people I have ever met, he very very kindly bought us over a delicious bottle of wine which was so unexpected and genuinely made our holiday! He was so amazing with recommendations of places to go close by. On arrival we found a lovely little basket with bread, milk, butter and biscuits which was an adorable thought! By far one of the best places I’ve ever stayed! 11/10!

Lovely few days spent in the cottage, excellent location for visiting Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. Host John very welcoming and friendly, provided bread , milk , butter, biscuits & wine to get us started. Cottage is lovely and clean and nicely furnished, All quipped for self catering but after long days of sightseeing we had two lovely meals at the local pub the Fox & Hounds. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will return one day

Absolutely beautiful little cottage to stay in. Everything has been decorated to be so homely, with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. The whole cottage is so cosy, with beautiful character beams and high ceilings in the living area and bedroom. We were met with a lovely hamper of essentials, as well as milk and butter in the fridge. Thankfully we bumped into John (owner) a couple of times who is a lovely man, who is down to Earth and so very helpful! On our last day, John left us a bottle of wine to say thank you for staying there, but we thought we should’ve been buying it for him! Great location too, and the fox in hound is a lovely pub to walk to for a drink

We arrived at this cute quaint cottage, directions given were helpful as it’s easy to miss! The location is perfect for site seeing around the cotswolds like we did. The cottage is perfect for a couple/small family. It has everything you could possibly need! We absolutely loved the personal touches of welcome hamper with some milk, bread, butter, water and biscuits to settle us in. But we were surprised that one evening on returning from a day out a box with a note from John (the owner I assume) left in front of the door with a bottle of wine and also a fan due to the mini heatwave! So thoughtful and much appreciated Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone! Also the local pub fox inn is lovely for a drink in the beer garden and good food too!

Had a fantastic weekend, perfect house to get away with friends. Lovely secluded cottage, completely spotless and lovely outside sitting area. Lots of towns and walks near by, would recommend popping into the Fox and Hounds round the corner as well.

All in all, a pleasant stay in a clean and characterful heritage cottage. Pleased to have been welcomed with a loaf of bread, packet of biscuits, butter and milk (plus the usual tea and coffee) for a basic breakfast the next day. Easy self check-in and check-out. Two minor gripes: 1. The outside seating area isn't exactly private - it's just feet away from the landlord's property - which shares the site. 2. Traffic noise from the nearby M5 flyover is audible inside and outside the property. This noise is less noticeable in the bedroom, but it's still there and may affect guests who were expecting a sound night's sleep in a more rural location.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the cottage. The directions were spot on and we met the Host as we arrived which was lovely. The cottage is really cute and the perfect size for us as a couple. It’s cosy but not claustrophobic. The living area is bright and comfortable and the TV is set up with Netflix access. I think it also has a built in DVD player but we didn’t use it. The kitchen is very well equipped with oven, hob, saucepans, utensils and crockery etc. And the dining table is very comfortable and perfectly situated. The welcome basket of bread, milk, butter and biscuits was very gratefully received, as was the bottle of wine on our last night. Ever so thoughtful. The bedroom is a decent size, the bed was comfortable and had a wardrobe and chest of drawers with bedside tables. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower and brilliant water pressure. There was excellent user guide and local information in the cottage which was really useful. Our trip was to explore the Cotswolds and although the cottage is just outside the Cotswolds everything is within such easy reach it was a perfect location for us. We used a nearby Morrison’s supermarket to buy the bits we needed to cook meals etc and there is parking onsite next to the cottage. A lovely, comfortable base for our trip.

A lovely little cottage in Bredon. It’s a lot smaller than it appears on the photos but very quaint with lovely wooden beams and a great price. Very well equipped, great WiFi and Netflix was an added bonus. A lovely area and we went on some beautiful walks nearby.

Amazing, peaceful, cozy cottage in a great location; a local shop and a few restaurants are a short walk away and if you love walking, is about 30mins away from scenic walks even though the entire place is scenic. Will definitely return for a longer stay, thank you.

Lovely cottage, very clean and well-stocked. Arnie was very sweet and helpful and provided a welcome pack too, as well as information about the local area. We went on some stunning circular walks and frequented a few lovely pubs, as well as the local Indian restaurant, as recommended by Arnie. We also cooked one evening and found the kitchen to have everything we could have needed, although the fridge is quite small! For us, the only drawback was the mattress, which we found to be quite uncomfortable. However, in fairness, we are fussy and are used to sleeping on an expensive memory foam mattress! Thanks to Arnie for a great stay, we have come back extremely rested and relaxed.

A perfect retreat in an ideal location. Seemed very slightly smaller than the photos, somehow, but completely charming and well appointed. A very clever design. Easy to find and to park right next to the cottage. There is even a National Trust property a few steps across the road and a beautiful church within an easy stroll too. The owner is great as well. Enjoy!

We had a lovely stay at The Old Thatch with beautiful sunshine. It was a great location with 2 pubs within a short walk and a short drive from Tewkesbury. We were given some bread, butter and milk on arrival which was a lovely touch, would definitely stay again.

Fantastic home in a lovely location. Very peaceful, close to some lovely country pubs and lots of countryside. John was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the added touch of having bread and milk provided when we arrived was so thoughtful! The house is lovely and clean, and the kitchen was perfect, so much better equipped than we expected! We loved how cosy it was and will definitely try and come back next time we are in the area!

Brilliant stay at a quaint, self contained cottage next to the main house. Perfect for 2 people but may be a little small for 4. John is a fantastic host and pays attention to the details to make it feel like a home away from home.

This is a really lovely cottage - it is slightly smaller than the impression given by the photos - but plenty of room and otherwise perfect - it is very clean!! It is by a busy road, but not noisy and I thought being so close to the M5 wouldn't be great but it is fine. the owner is very friendly and hospitable - for bird watchers - we had a beautiful walk along the Avon and saw all sorts of birds we had not seen before - a good place to go and switch off!!

Nice little cottage, stylishly decorated. Well equipped kitchen for self-catering. Good location for walking into local village with pub, shop etc and short drive to local cotswold towns. Little table and chairs outside in the sun too. The hosts provided a welcome box with a loaf of bread, 2 pints of milk, margarine and biscuits (useful to know if you’re also packing the same as we did!). There is a dolce gusto pod coffee machine but you’ll need to bring pods if you want to use this. The oven is a little tricky to light, there is an instruction booklet to help.

We stayed at John's place due to renovations taking place at our home. We were looking for a spacious place that we can work and "live" in rather than just a place to sleep at the end of a day exploring. The Old Thatch was PERFECT for that! The place itself is spacious and very cozy and comfortable. You would be able to open the sofa into a bed and the place would easily take 4 people. The kitchen was very well equipped and we felt right at home. The location of the cottage itself is also very convenient with a local grocery shop and a few restaurants at a 5 min walk. Even though the cottage is located in a small village, it was a very short driving distance (maximum 30-35 mins) to the most popular Cotswolds sights and cities/villages. John welcomed us himself (even though there is a secure self-checkin process in place) and gave us a lot of local recommendations and tips. We enjoyed our conversations immensely! We will definitely be coming back for a comfortable place to rest at after a long day of nature walks!

We stayed in the cottage during a house renovation. John was a fantastic and responsive host. The house is in a great location with a lot of local amenities a few minutes walk away. If you like walking it is an ideal spot to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks John.

John was lovely and welcoming without being intrusive. It was so great that when we turned up we had some little treats waiting and some milk so I could make a cup of tea! The washing machine was a great help and the oven was a bonus too. The bed and the sofa bed were comfy and we were nice and cosy but with enough space to spread out. Great supply of kitchen equipment. Nice and warm. Many thanks xx
