The apartment was exactly what we were looking for, in a location that can’t be beaten! The rooms were wonderfully decorated and we will certainly be back! My only tiny gripe is that the directions to the apartment weren’t spot on, and when you “click” on the location of the apartment, it positioned itself at the other side of the crescent.

Would've given the accommodation 5 stars but the listing is a bit misleading. The apartment is a basement flat and therefore has no views from the windows. It also made the lounge area quite dark. The 'private, peaceful yard' is overlooked by the properties at the rear and so we never used it. It is spacious, clean and tidy and is in an excellent location. The parking was a bonus and rear exit and lift made unloading very easy.

We had the most fantastic weekend in a stunning apartment. Host and stay were fantastic and quick to respond to any questions. We were late to check in due to traffic and they kept messaging yo make sure we had got there ok and got setyled into the property without any problems. The concierge service was excellent. The apartment was beautiful exactly as described and was spotless. It was in a fantastic location easy to get to everywhere and with added bonus of a designated parking spot. Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to book again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Location is fantastic and the accommodation had everything you could possibly require! Wi-fi was a bit iffy (unable to stream anything but googling was ok). Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to holiday in Whitby and the parking space was the cherry on the cake! A wonderful stay - thanks for having us!

The Royal Hideaway is a beautiful apartment in a great location, right on the seafront and a few minutes walk from centre of Whitby. The apartment was very clean and tidy with everything you need. Dale was responsive to all messages sent and access to the property was very easy. A little more explanation about the parking would have been useful - it is at the rear of the property and it wasn’t obvious at first about how to get there. But great that there is allocated parking. Would definitely recommend The Royal Hideaway and would stay there again.

Lovely large apartment with all amenities you could need and is furnished to a high standard. Great location and great having a parking space at the back of the building. Also very handy having a little enclosed outdoor space for the dog. Had a slight issue when we arrived as the apartment had not been cleaned since the last guests, but I called the number provided and spoke to Mark who was extremely helpful. Two lovely ladies turned up (late on a Saturday evening!) and left the apartment spotless. This was a slight inconvenience but did not spoil our stay.

Lovely flat, very well equipped and great layout. It has everything that is needed for a short comfortable stay. Location is ideal, just a few minutes away from Whitby's sensational beach and a few minutes away from shops, restaurants and pubs. We were very impressed by the digital guide that had all the information we needed for our stay, and some good recommendations also. Just be aware that Google Maps doesnt get you to the right address, it gets you the other side of the Crescent and from there it was difficult to understand the directions to the flat and where to park. But we got there and really enjoyed our stay.

The apartment was fantastic. Can't fault the host for how they have created a lovely and convenient place to stay. The parking spot is a big plus as it is very busy in that area. The local guide provided was accurate and informative. Would stay again.

This is a great and spacious apartment right at the top of the West Cliff so accessible for all parts of visiting Whitby and hiking on the Cleveland trail. Regrettably, we did have a few problems and whilst the host was responsive, they were not resolved and a complaint had to be filed. Dont let it put you off staying there as it is a great apartment.

The apartment was exactly as described. Modern, clean and spacious. Despite being a basement flat it didn't feel like it with ample windows at ground level to let in lots of light, with shutters for privacy. Really tastefully decorated, and everything was on hand for simple cooking if needed. Location was excellent, and only a few minutes away from some nice independent cafes and pubs, as well as literally a stones throw from the seafront. Would stay again.

The apartment is modern, spacious, very clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. It is in a super location overlooking the beach and within easy walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. A huge plus is the private parking space. Communication with the host was excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend the apartment and will definitely stay there again should we go back to Whitby.

This very spacious apartment was perfectly located for the major tourist areas of Whitby, no more than a very short walk from beach, harbour, pavilion and shops. Touches of luxury made the apartment an ideal apartment for short or long stays.

Our stay at the basement apartment in Whitby was everything we expected. Having a parking space solely for our car was one of the reasons we booked this apartment as parking in Whitby can be difficult or an added expense to your stay. The property was beautifully maintained & very clean. The only downside was that we found the beds uncomfortable & none of the beds were screwed together properly, so they were extremely squeaky & noisy if you moved. The legs were loose & wobbly on all of the beds. It didn’t spoil our stay & if visiting Whitby again we would definitely stay here again as it was across the road from the seafront & a 5 minute walk into the town.

The Royal Hideaway is a lovely apartment based a stones throw away from all of Whitby's fabulous attractions. There are a couple of points to mention though, the kitchen, whilst a good size in comparison to the rest of the apartment, seemed under-equipped for the size of parties that can stay there - we were not short of plates and cutlery, but pans and other utensils were almost absent. When we arrived, we were surprised to discover it was a basement apartment, while not a problem in itself, we would have thought it would be mentioned in the main listing. A massive plus point is the included parking space, however had it not been for reading a previous review, we probably wouldn't have found it - again, we were surprised that clearer directions to the space were not in the main listing. With all that being said, we had a wonderful family holiday and would more than likely book The Royal Hideaway in the future if we were to visit the area again.

Great place to stay for the weekend. photos show the apartment exactly. We didn't realise it was at basement level but the windows are still big enough to see the road and sea. Very clean apartment on arrival. We'd recommend to others that they bring all essentials e.g. cooking oil, handwash etc. Instructions on where the parking space is would be useful for future guests - it's under an arch round the back of the apartment complex.

There could have been some clearer instructions about how to find the back of the property and the parking space, and the fact that there was a back door available too. The property was lovely, exactly as described and shown, the only thing that massively let it down was the quality of bed/mattress. They are the cheapest possible mattress you could find and really really uncomfortable, after a couple of days we had severe back pain. Other than that it was great, lovely that some milk tea and coffee was provided, this is very rare in most rental properties. Overall had a great stay

Really enjoyed our stay here in West Cliff part of Whitby. Apartment was clean and tidy, and exactly as depicted in photos and description. Everything we needed for a base to discover Whitby and the surrounding area.
