Beautiful house, clean, spacious open living area and bedrooms. Very well located to walk around York centre. All communication was remote via email/SMS messages and included Information pack that was helpful and comprehensive. Everything we needed within the house for a family of 4 to stay. A young boy was very happy to play with the wooden railway track we found in a cupboard.

We had a great time staying here. The house was clean and the space and beds comfortable. We especially appreciated the toys for children which came in handy keeping them busy when we were at the house. The location is fantastic and we would not hesitate booking the house the next time we come to York.

Excellent location, easy walking distance to everything in York. Loads of lovely places to eat on the doorstep. Very well equipped house. Only downside was the upstairs seemed hard to get warm, so felt a little cold. Otherwise great place to stay in York.

The house was in an excellent location with free parking which was great. The house itself is pretty good. The beds were comfy, and the decoration was good, although there were a couple of things that could be improved. The listing specified that there was a baby bath which we could not find, and the hallway/upstairs was very cold compared to the downstairs of the house. We also reported the oven as broken and were initially told someone would attend but then told they wouldn't as there were two many houses with storm damage. We were told that we had the hob, toaster and microwave to use. This is understandable but was very disappointing as we had a 6 month old baby so couldn't eat out on an evening and had brought pizzas etc which had to be disposed of as they went out of date.

Great location- walkable to tones of restaurants and stores! Lots of space for 5 adults! Kitchen was stocked with all we needed. Host was also very quick to respond!

Great place, perfect location. Have been to York a few times and it was so easy to walk up fossgate and into the centre. Would have liked a later check out time as 10am seems early especially as check in wasn’t till 4pm , but can’t really complain as this was clear in the instructions given. There were a couple of very minor things broken in the house but it was easy to bring these to the hosts attention and they had no impact on our weekend. Would definitely look to stay here again.

PROS - This was a great little house to stay in for a few days in York. It is so close to the city centre and all touristy things you could wish to do. The beds are comfortable, the shower great, and the curtains in the bedroom are black out. While you can't park directly outside the property, there are streets nearby that are valid with the parking permit. I found a parking map online with the streets that can be parked on - this would be helpful in the house though as I drove around for ages looking for the right streets. It was a Sunday so the closest street was full. Host & Stay has a mandatory insurance policy. I understand owners want to protect their homes from rowdy guests but just be aware as it's an additional charge. I was excited for how great value this property was otherwise. There was construction across the road from the house - they're tearing a building down and will no doubt build another one. No issue at night but they start at 7am. Not the owners fault of course!

Excellent location. Everything is in easy walking distance. place is nice. very clean. bed comfortable. Couple things to note, the road can be a little noisy with bus traffic (worse in the bedroom). there is also construction going on across the road. Parking is street parking with a supplied permit.

Great property, as described. Very close to center of York, lots of nearby restaurants. Very clean, well provided for. Excellent place to stay. Parking is via a street permit, so you do need to park in certain zones but once you get to know the area it works well. Overall a great stay.

The apartment was perfectly located for the city, with lovely restaurants and breakfast spots around the corner. The kitchen was well equiped and it was useful having a big dining table as my husband worked and my daughter did some studying. In the summer it would be quite lovely being able to sit outside in the private courtyard. The only negative point I have is that at night the front bedroom was noisy due to busses passing quite often and the wardrobe then shaking.

Stayed here for a few days with my mother and a friend - the place was larger than expected, very tidy, and exactly like the pictures. The kitchen was surprisingly well-appointed and we really enjoyed having a cup of hot tea after a long day. Check-in was easy and the location was perfect for sightseeing. I’d definitely recommend! Thank you!

Stayed at St Denys Place in York over New Year. What a fantastic place in a great location! It was very roomy, clean and tidy, with pretty much everything we needed for a full four days, just needed to grab a few groceries and we were sorted. It's about ten mins walk to anywhere you'd like to visit in York - one minute away from our favourite restaurant (El Gaucho) and an awesome spot for drinks and food (Spark York). A Tesco is just over the road, and a spot to rent scooters is also very close if you fancy a quicker journey into town. The beds are incredibly comfy, there's loads of storage, and we couldn't have asked for more - especially at such a good price! We'll be back to this property, and will also take a look at the other properties both in York and further afield.

The house is in a great location, 5 minute walk from the centre of York on a quiet street. The house is very clean, comfortable and has all that you need for an enjoyable stay. The host had to be given a little nudge to give us entry details but was very responsive and friendly when we dealt with them. Overall, a lovely visit to York in a lovely house. Thank you

Great place to stay only a 5 minute walk from the main square. Place was clean and big. It also had airconditioning which was great since we visited in the summer.
