Sixpence Cottage is a beautiful and very cosy home, very spacious with the prettiest furniture and decorative touches! The kitchen has everything you could need and opens out on to a fabulous garden - we spent so much time basking in the sun listening to the birds. The boot room is a fantastic addition as we could keep all our footwear, coats and bags in there, leaving the rest of the place clutter free. The beds are exquisitely comfortable and there is loads of storage space, plus extra glazing to make sure the road noise is minimal. High spec shower with abundant hot water. The parking may seem tricky but we always got a space pretty much outside, definitely not an issue. Can’t fault the place, it’s a five minute walk to the quirky high street with loads of fascinating history, the church is a must visit with original medieval wall paintings. Definitely going back!

Had lovely restful few days. Place was spotless, warm and well equipped. Beds were extremely comfortable Would have liked fuel provided to start one fire due to time of year. Would thoroughly recommend this place and hope to return in the future

a beautiful home, with everything you need for a small stay over.....the house was spotless, fully equipped kitchen and the beds were soo comfortable....very close to town, and even though the house is on a main road, it was so peaceful in the evening/night.....we would defo stay again...5 star

The cottage was lovely, I can’t fault the house. It was well positioned, clean and spacious. HOWEVER! The property is managed by a company called Host and Stay. Host and Stay then use an insurance provider for a damage deposit called superhog. To stay in this cottage you have to either pay a £250 refundable deposit or a £25 waiver fee which is arranged by Superhog. I paid the waiver fee and I was charged twice. When I requested the money back all my emails were ignored. I strongly advise you to research the reputation of Superhog on trustpilot. They are not trustworthy. It was only after countless emails to superhog, host and stay and finally going back to Airbnb and a threat of the financial Ombudsman was my refund finally paid. I raised my concerns for the insurance to host and stay but I was told they have no issues with the company. Because of the association with Superhog I would never stay in a host and stay property again.

This was a great cottage in a great location. There was everything that we needed in the cottage. Comfortable and well equiped. Pickering is a good location for the coast and inland places to visit

Very spacious house with lots of room for two kids, two adults, the dog and even lots of bags storage. Loved the separate dining room. The whole property is very well equipped and comfortable. Can’t fault this lovely home at all. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again if we’re in the area. Although on a fairly busy road, the on-street parking was no problem and the secondary glazing meant no road noise at all. So handy for the town centre, the NYMR railway and Co-Op and Lidl supermarkets (5 mins stroll). Very peaceful and private back garden lovely to sit out in.

A very nice and spacious house with all the amenities and equipment we needed. It was also quiet inside too. We found it easy enough to find parking nearby and also found some excellent restaurants in the town.

We enjoyed our stay at Sixpence Cottage which was delightful, however we will not be returning and in future will avoid all Host & Stay managed properties. There is a hidden charge of £25 per stay that might not be much over three days but for a one night stay makes a significant difference to the basic cost. This is charged by stealth and their claim that it is stated in the booking information when it is actually hidden away as a footnote in the House Rules is disingenuous. As it is compulsory add it to the up front cost or show it clearly.

Lovely stay at Six Pence cottage. Very clean and exactly as described. Exactly what we wanted. Very close to Flamingo Land and Dalby Forest. We’d definitely return!

Nice cottage, tastefully decorated. Unfortunately the heating and hot water did not work when we arrived so the place was cold. They could not fix it until the next day and did not offer any substitute heaters. The parking as mentioned is away from the cottage.

Lovely cottage. Really clear instructions and good communications with hosts. Some lovely nice touches in the cottage - toiletries etc. All linen and towels lovely. Great that you could take dogs. Fab location for Pickering. Good guest information.
