Review . . Unfortunately this wasn’t a great experience. It’s a real shame as the cottage itself is beautiful but I struggled to get past the lack of cleanliness. This place was dusty/covered in cobwebs. Kitchen sink was filthy - there was old food in the plug and grease/grime around the metal, limescale on the taps etc. stains on the benches, dirty microwave and the oven had a grease covered sheet of foil in it which made me think it hasn’t been cleaned since previous guests. There was a coffee machine, but no pods to put in it. No coal provided for fire. There was soap scum all over the bath and electric shower was very poor and didn’t work well. There was also a loud fan-like sound at night which was disturbing

The house is very clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen. I would recommend this as a place to stay to visit lots of locations in Yorkshire.

House had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Unfortunately kitchen was not in a clean state so I had to clean it before we could settle in. Rest of the house is dusty and cobwebs in parts and hence could do with a proper clean. Addressed this with Host and Stay and they apologised and offered to clean it at the next convenient time. However I had already done it. I’m hopeful that they will now we on top of the cleaning team to ensure it is up to the necessary standard.

Beautiful property and great location, the cottage itself we were most pleased with. I would suggest however bringing your own coffee as only 1 pod was provided for 2 adults staying 2 nights. We did feel the agency were not empathetic when messaging them and therefore customer service was not to the same high standard we have encountered from other hosts, who provide a more personal service.

Great location, but the property fell short in several areas. It was well equipped but it was dusty and full of cobwebs. The bedding was stained with what looked like oil and had holes, and although we were promised clean bedding, it never arrived. The 4 pm check was unreasonably restrictive, and we weren’t allowed to access the fridge only early to store essential insulin during a heatwave. Disappointing overall, and basic standards of cleanliness, comfort, and guest care need improving.

The cottage had everything we needed as a few days for a family of four. There was an issue with the hot water but it was sorted out the same day. Instructions were clear as and the living room is a really good space too.

Really great place to stay. We were visiting Flamingo Land and this was just a 5 minute drive away. Cottage was lovely, meant that as a family of 4 we all had our own space and we were all extremely comfortable.

Lovely cottage and perfect for what we needed. Very well equipped, lovely and clean and great communication. Had to ask a villager for location of cottage as, although a link to a location was provided by the host, a lack of signal on phone made it impossible to access. Also, check opening times of local pub and restaurant as it was closed when we visited even though website and board outside said it was open.

Beautiful cottage, perfect for us. Previous occupant obviously had a dog which was very apparent by the smell. However this is a dog friendly cottage and otherwise perfect.

We had a lovely time at the cottage! Very pet friendly, and an extremely cozy and welcoming place. Our host was really communicative, and we had everything we needed. We'd definitely consider visiting again or another of their properties in the future.

Lovely cottage, great condition with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Well set up, with decent quality beds, furniture and fittings. Sits close to a pub with decent beer and great food, if not theirs then takeaway deliveries are available. Would I stay again, would I advise you to go. Definitely. Try it and Enjoy like we did. Lovely people to deal with, very helpful and always on call if needed. Thank you

A very comfortable and well-appointed cottage which would be lovely and cosy in the winter. Not sure you could park two cars outside, but parking further down the street wouldn’t be an issue.

Stunning cottage, perfect for a weekend get away in Yorkshire with a small family. The place is well equipped (our daughter is 10 months old) and there was ample facility and space. The pub down the road was lovely and just a couple minutes walk. The check in instructions were disjointed and the cottage was tricky to find as the wrong address was listed. Albeit it was down the road. I would definitely return and get a better experience now knowing where to find the cottage and what to do before setting off.

Such a beautiful stay in a lovely cottage which had everything we needed. The location was perfect for a quiet getaway, close by for day trips into local towns and also made a trip to Whitby. Really comfy beds and so quiet which allowed some of the best nights sleep we’ve had in a long time! Also can’t recommend the local pub highly enough, food and atmosphere absolutely perfect. Thanks for a lovely stay, would definitely visit again and so lovely that we could bring the dogs with us, thank you!

A beautiful well located cottage, for Yorkshire walks, Flamingo Land and many lovely towns and villages. A stones throw really, in car. The premises are very well maintained, plenty of room for 3-5 people, good modern equipment. Nice value for money local pub only 400 metres away .. Just the job for a relaxing few days. many thanks highly recommend.

Nice place to stay for a couple of days and appreciated that we were allowed to bring the dogs. The kitchen is really well equipped and was very clean. There is even a potty for your child in the bathroom. Nice little village. No backyard but able to take dogs/kids out around for walks or for other activities. Comfy beds. Would recommend. Host really great at replying for questions even on week-ends so very good really.

Absolutely stunning cottage! It was perfect for our stay in the Moors, very spacious in excellent condition, and the most comfortable beds. We really loved our time there and would definitely recommend. The pub down the road, The Grapes Inn was also worth a visit, really nice food and cosy feel to it.

Lovely cosy cottage is nice location, extremely handy for Malton which has an abundance of unique shops and cafes, Supermarket and plenty of takeaways to choose from. The cottage is on the small size but is more than adequate for a family of four, cleanliness could be improved slightly but not to deter from the cottage itself, it is not privately owned therefore lacks the usual final touches. We used it as a base for taking the kids to Eden Camp which I would highly recommend and is less than 10 mins drive away. The local pub, The Grapes, is also recommended for a drink and food.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. We had an amazing 2 night stay. Can really also recommend The Grapes in Pub (2 min walk) for food. Our one year old also loved the horses in the near by field! We’ll be back! Xx

Our family and pup spent four days over Christmas at the cottage and loved it. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy our festive feast. Very cosy, comfortable beds, lounge perfect for relaxing and logs were supplied for the wood burner. Nice walks nearby. We’d happily return.

The cottage is lovely and in a nice quiet location, comes fully equipped, sofas and bed comfy. As per other reviews the cleanliness wasn’t good. Cob webs, dirty draining board, taps heavily lime scales, dishes and cutlery not clean. Shower is electric and poor flow, ok for a quick shower but difficult to wash hair etc. Such a shame as would happily stay again if it was clean, need to think about sorting that out as lots of people have mentioned it and doesn’t seem to have been sorted

My partner and I booked a four night stay at summer cottage with our two children (7) and (5) and the family dog. The cottage is in a rural village location but it was a great location as a base for our planned days out (NYMR, Dalby Forrest, Scarborough, Whitby). The cottage is small, but in my opinion, a perfect size for a family of 4 for a short break. It is well kept, cosy and welcoming with all the modern touches (Amazon Alexa, Smart TV, central heating etc….). The contact from the host was excellent and I have nothing negative to say about our stay. It felt like home from home and I would happily make a repeat booking.

Make sure you bring a travel cot mattress with you if you are travelling with an infant as Stay don’t provide these, much to our surprise. The cottage has a nice kitchen and amenities are good. It could do with a proper clean, however, in areas around and under couches/ beds. Location is fine if you use it as a base to drive to places. Looked like a nice pub in the village but we didn’t make it there.

Lovely cottage, clean and well equipped for our short stay. Easily accessible with parking space, horses, cows and sheep in adjacent fields which kept our dog interested! Beautiful weather while we stayed and cottage was ideally located for trips to the coast. Would definitely look to return if in the area again.
