Property is beautiful! Modern amenities in an old house with charm. It’s so nice and if it were on the market to buy I would be writing my check for it.
The washer / dryer took a long time to dry. But in all fairness that is my first time to use one like that, so it could be the user.

Tucked away up an alley- loading bay close to unload. First impressions fabulous- clean, cosy, modern and high standard finish to everything. Had every possible kitchen appliance, and some cleaning products, dishwasher , WM tabs a nice touch. Slept really well- very quiet although a pub was close by.
Negatives- Perfect for 2/3 probably but cosy for 4 adults : only 3 barstools ( dining )
A fab place: central location, oh and a Tv in the bathroom!!! Son loved that!!

Location, quality, amenities, cleanliness - pretty much everything apart from…
The mattress was a bit soft for me (but I guess personal choice) :-)
Host and stay (the agent) weren’t brilliant (9 out of 10 for them).

A lovely cottage, excellent location within a short walk to everywhere needed.
A lovely welcome with wine, tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolate. Very thoughtful with these touches makes you feel very welcome.
Extremely friendly neighbours.
The cottage is old but modern inside and very clean and well presented, clearly a lot of work has gone into it.
My only negative is that the double bed/mattress is uncomfortable and we unfortunately did not have many good nights sleep.

Great place although not easy to find as it’s tucked in an alleyway (called a Yard) between two one way streets. The cottage is fully modernized and is deceptively spacious spread over three stories.
There is a pub next door, but the noise never came through the walls.
The cottage is centrally located and just a short downwards slope to reach the harbor.
The cottage had all the amenities we needed. The host provided laundry tablets, dishwashing supplies that were sufficient for the time we were there

The location - in the heart of the town, but also peaceful.
the facilities - TV in every room, facilities in kitchen,
large bath, great shower,
comfortable beds
lack of drawers for clothes in one of the bedrooms (only a minor quibble)

Modern and well equipped house in a fabulous location.
Although the accommodation sleeps 4 we struggled for comfortable seating areas when my daughter and her partner came to visit on my birthday. Also only 3 bar stools for dining.
We would say fits 3 adults comfortably.

Did have a little trouble locating the cottage, but once found the location was perfect. Close to the centre.
Check in was so easy with the code given for the lock box.
The cottage was spotless and had everything and more that we could need.
Bed was so comfortable and bathroom amazing.
There were only two of us and found the size of the downstairs works for us, but may struggle if there were more people. Sofa wasn't the comfiest and found that the large armchair could use a footstool for relaxing and watching TV. We would definitely book this cottage again.

Beautiful apartment right in the middle of Whitby, it was cosy, clean and great for a family of four. You can easily walk with the family down into the center for food and drinks, to the beach or even to the arcades. Plenty of walks nearby with the Abbey a stones throw away and other coastal paths to explore. There are also lots of interesting little shops to see and investigate.

My family and I had a fantastic stay in Whitby.
The property could not have had a more central location to the bustling seaside town, yet felt quiet and peaceful in the quaint, side-street location just 20 yards in from the harbour-side.
The house was spotlessly clean and communication from Host & Stay was clear, friendly and frequent.
We completed a great Treasure Trail & Ghost Walk whilst here, which were a great way to explore the town and learn about the local history.
We would definitely return!

Great place to stay. Perfect to walk straight into town is it is on the doorstep. Comfortable and warm place to stay.
Only has three seats at breakfast bar so difficult if there are four of you using the space. Same with the comfortable seating.
Bathroom very clean.

After being moved property after a mix up with booking.com we soon realised we’d left property at the previous address.
We called and texted for two days needing to find our property. We were told we would receive a call to see if house keeping found the glasses case, my husband has now had to take the day off work due to no one responding
When no one arranged for us to re access the property or get house keeping to look for our items, I then asked the lady I spoke to on the phone to post our property home. She then told me she’d be sending me the postage invoice! We asked for two days to return to the property, leading to us not being to drive for the duration of our trip. We also risked driving home all the way to Manchester without them. This service is unacceptable, I would not recommend this company
Review update this company have also taken a further unauthorised payment from our credit card today, I will be reporting them to trading standards

we stayed for 3 nights at this gorgeous house. We found it very homely.
I do feel that they should point out the steps leading up to the property for accessibility reasons and the staircase inside the property isn't the best if you have mobility problems like myself. however, we still enjoyed our stay.
the beds are super comfy. I love the extra touch of the xbox in the top twin room and the large bath with the TV was utterly luxurious.
the kitchen had most of the things that we needed .
could have done with some dish washer tablets though. we had to leave the dishes in the washer as there was none . also maybe a bit more fire wood for the gorgeous fire .
Where the property is placed is close to everything you need really.
accessing the property on check in day for effortless and instructions were clear.
we loved the stash of board games in the livingroom cupboard. it's just ashame that there's not a side table or coffee table to play them on if you want to sit on the sofa .

Lovely property, wonderful attention to detail and absolutely spotless. We enjoyed it as a couple but would be very suited to a family too as there is another bedroom on the third floor with twin beds and a games console.
We particularly enjoyed the tv in the bathroom and the beautiful big bath which was a real luxury!
The location was ideal and right near the harbour. As the property is down an alley way there is not much of a view from the windows, but the rest of the property more than makes up for this.
Everything was made very easy and all the information we needed about the property and surrounding area was in the app we were told to download. Parking scratch cards were left for us at the property so we could park on any street in the 'W' zone - and a map of these streets is provided in the app. We managed to park 5 mins walk away but this could be more depending on time of year/how busy it is.
We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Would def recommend

The accommodation was immaculate and finished throughout to a high standard. The bed was very comfortable allowing for a restful cosy sleep. The bathroom was exceptional and I could have spent all my trip just taking baths. Excellent kitchen facilities with everything included that may be needed. A nice touch was the inclusion of a few logs in order to light the fire for a wonderfully cosy evening.
The only tiny criticism would be the sofa which seemed a little flattened forward when sitting on it. Not the most comfortable but certainly not the worst I've experienced. Certainly didn't detract from my wonderful stay.

Great central location
Having to provide a £250 damage waiver was frustrating and it woukd be helpful to advertise this in the initial booking rather than encounter once the booking was made. A nonreturnable further £10 to administer this seemed unwarranted

Very clean flat in a good location in Whitby. Comfy beds and a nice big bath. To be honest, I didn’t realise that the flat was run by a company rather than a person and I found this a little difficult at times especially with regard to some of the communication.
The flat is quite dark with very harsh, clinical lighting (especially downstairs). There were a few things that didn’t work such as the kitchen bin not closing, the tv in the bathroom didn’t work (we weren’t too bothered about this as probably wouldn’t of used it much) and blinds not working properly.
I come to Whitby almost every year and I think there are better places to stay for the price we paid.

Property is very well appointed (TV in every room, dishwasher, washing machine etc - all very new) and very well maintained/cleaned. Perfect for 3 of us for a few days break but would be great for longer too.
Very central location making access to the town just a few steps away though, like lots of properties in Whitby, parking is inevitably away from the property itself which the hosts have tried to assist with by providing a permit.
A great few days and would happily book again.
Thanks

Really excellent property and location. I nearly dropped a star because of the additional insurance / admin cost hidden under the "house rules" section rather than on the front page of the listing, which I did not see until after making the booking. However, given the otherwise great experience, I decided this would be unfair. I do however think Host n Stay should change the way they present these costs.

Very quiet even in this very central location. Even the seagulls were quiet!
The kids loved the Xbox in the loft room and the tv in the bathroom!

Bakehouse Yard is a beautiful, stylish property and in a great location for exploring Whitby. It has been renovated to a very high standard with modern features throughout and is extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay there. Beautifully decorated with hi tech equipment. Excellent location and complementary extras, milk and juice.

A wonderful winter break in Whitby. The cottage is situated up a side alley right in the middle of everything. Very quaint. We could park nearby to unload and given a parking permit for our stay. We parked very near to the property.
Inside it is beautiful, just as the photos show. Modern, comfortable decor. Absolutely pristine. Kitchen has everything you could want and much more. Living are is modern and comfortable, tastefully decorated for the Christmas period which was a nice touch. Upstairs, bed in master is super comfortable. Bathroom is lovely, especially the bathtub!
Communication with Host and Stay was exemplary, always prompt reply. Boiler tripped out during cold spell, but with a phone call, I was talked through how to reset.
Only slight point to consider, is that the £250 security deposit takes up to 14 days to return which for a short stay seems excessive. To be fair, I was notified up front of this.

Please note that this listing is actually rented via a third party agency (Host and Stay). Shortly before your stay begins, you will be prompted to go through a verification process which includes a “damage waiver / deposit” section. This section will give you two options: (1) provide card details for a £250 deposit + non-refundable £10 transaction fee as part of the authorisation process; (2) a £25 fee for a £500 damage waiver. Without completing this section you will not be able to access the property.

11 Bakehouse. Beautiful accommodation, lovely and clean. The detail and quality of how the house has been renovated is a credit to you. What we learnt was to read the parking ticket before we touched it. Going left out of the front door is a good shortcut to get to your parked car. Location gave easy access to the town but was located in a quiet area.
Cottage was beautifully furnished with lots of added extras such as tea bags, coffee, sugar, milk, cake and biscuits and also toiletries.
Everything was clean and well maintained.
Only having one bathroom - as a family we are used to having a bathroom more than one so not used to waiting to use the facilities. However, this would not put me off booking this cottage again.

I loved this little house so much. It was homely and cosy. Everything was perfect.
The location, the decor, the cleanliness. The bathroom was my favourite room in the house, the power shower was spot on. The milk and oj in the fridge was lovely.
The location is bang in the middle of the town so everything is within walking distance.
Netflix & other streaming services on every TV in the house, even an xbox upstairs.
The only thing I missed was my dog, I do wish this home was pet friendly but I understand why it wasn't as it didn't have a garden.
I will miss this home dearly and hope to come back one day in the future!

This cottage is a hidden gem within Whitby. The cottage was spotless and the owners left us milk and orange juice in the fridge when we arrived. The location is excellent and is close walking distance to shops, the beach and west cliff. The stairs in the cottages are quite steep and the second bedroom in on a different floor so probably more suited to people with older children. Apart from that the cottage is perfect

What a STUNNING house! The owners have done an amazing job at making this quaint little house seem much bigger. The finish is absolutely gorgeous, they've really pulled out all of the stops! Perfect location too! Don't let the fact that it's behind a pub put you off, we stayed for 4 nights across a busy weekend and heard absolutely nothing (except for the seagulls, but there's no escaping them in Whitby!).

THIS IS GORGEOUS PROPERTY,WELL EQUIPPED AND VERY TASTEFULLY DECORATED THROUGHOUT..
THE LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT RIGHT IN THE HEART OF WHITBY.
PERHAPS I SHOULD MENTION THAT THE STAIRS ARE A BIT TRICKY .I HAVE A BALANCE PROBLEM ,I DID MANAGE THE FIRST FLIGHT ONLY WHICH NEED ANOTHER SMALL RAIL AT THE TOP ON THE RIGHT.
WE FOUND THE CAR PARKING A BIT TRICKY AT FIRST.HOWEVER THE PARKING SCRATCH CARDS ARE A BONUS AND ONCE WE HAD SORTED HOW TO USE THEM A BIG HELP TO OUR STAY.
JUST A COUPLE OF SMALL ADDITIONS OTHERWISE PERFECT
WE LIKE FRESHLY GROUND COFFEE AND DO NOT LIKE THE COFFEE MACHINES THAT USE THE PODS.

Wow - this is a gem, fantastic location, immaculate inside and everything catered for, even buckets and spades for the beach. I hadn’t realised it was 3 floors with was a great surprise. Also Sky Q in every room.
The management company for the house were also extremely proactive. Thanks - we will be back

Great cottage, great location. Very modern and clean. There are two flights of steep stairs in the property, just be wary. Overall a great stay and we would definitely return.

This is a hidden gem!
So well equipped, clean and tidy.
The location is perfect if you would like explore Whitby on foot.
The lounge cupboard had beach toys and a rug which we used every day - such a great touch!
There are steps up the property but we easily managed them with a pram.
The bathroom is especially gorgeous 😃

11 Bakehouse Yard is spotless, modern and lives up to the photos. It’s a very well stocked home with lots of extra touches such as wireless phone chargers, fruit, coffee machine capsules, cake and flowers. There’s also a cupboard with loads of extras to borrow such as beach towels and bucket and spade for the kids. Parking was straight forward once I got my head around it - I used the loading bay spaces just outside the entrance to Bakehouse Yard to get bags in and out of the accommodation, then drove elsewhere to park. I ended up at the top of the Khyber Pass hill most days. It’s handy to know that if you go up the stairs in the Bakehouse Yard alley on foot, then turn right at the top, it gets you to the top of the hill quickly making it easier to retrieve your car.

This is a beautiful little house in the centre of Whitby. The interior is very tasteful, all appliances modern and the bathroom luxurious. It has a well equipped kitchen and was generally very clean. Firewood, orange juice, milk and cake as a welcome gift were lovely!

An absolutely stunning property in a perfect location. The property has everything you could need and was spotlessly clean. There were some lovely extra touches, including fresh flowers, milk and orange juice, as well as parking permits, which were hugely appreciated. We can’t wait to stay again and would thoroughly recommend!

Lovely cottage in a great location. Just a mix up with the code for getting the key but sorted quite quickly in the end.

We loved our time at the cottage, as we got engaged that weekend it will always have a special place in our hearts. The attention to detail is fantastic, with everything you could need - even cake forks! The location is wonderful, quiet but also right in the middle of Whitby so could not be more perfect. We have already recommended the cottage to many people and we will be back!

What an absolutely stunning place in a great, central location. It's not often properties look as good - if not better - in person as they do on the photographs, but that was absolutely the case with this property.
The host, Lilli, was very communicative via email too - and so helpful. There were so many nice touches to the place, too - including some lemon drizzle cake, fruit, milk and orange juice on our arrival and a TV in the bathroom, ideal for a spot of relaxation after a busy day spent Christmas shopping. The Air B&B is in a great spot, too - within walking distance of Whitby's shops and pubs and it's such a nice house that we enjoyed spending time just relaxing and watching Netflix. Can't wait to visit again and already talking about our next trip there!

Stunning house in an amazing location. Full of mod cons such as hive heating, sky, internet, washer dryer. Truly a home from home with everything you could possibly need, even down to pods to wash clothes with if needed!
So luxurious and a real treat

Lovely place in a great spot - central but quiet. Very comfortable with everything you’d need. On the more expensive end but a real luxury treat - the shower is fantastic. Thanks for the extra additions (milk, fruit, juice).

Absolutely gorgeous cottage, everything done to a high specification. Felt brand new, had everything we needed during our stay. Location is great we tried to travel around on foot for the duration of our break as parking is a nightmare. Can’t recommend enough. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

This is a newly refurbished cottage in the centre of the town. It has been fitted out to an extremely high standard and it is a beautiful place to stay. Bathroom with TV was an added luxury! All bed extremely comfortable.
There was absolutely nothing to find fault with and would highly recommend this property to other clients.

Great place with brilliant amenities. Very high spec and had everything you needed and more.
Kitchen was very well equipped and thr bathroom was great. The place is a bit difficult to get to if you have a lot of luggage or a child and it took us a while to find a parking place but the location is great for exploring once you're there.
