No breakfast included but the location was nice enough. Walking distance to the city centre and a small parking space that was very handy. The house was cosy and nice. Very good for a home away from home experience. I would stay again.

The cleangliness of the property could be better but it wasn't bad. There were cob webs in various corners of the property. There were builders working in a house close by andd they kept parking in front of my car ( Garage entrance on the pavemene) and they were blocking me in making it unconfortable to ask them to move their vvan so I could get out. That is not the properties fault though.

Close to City & Family. A parking space. Enclosed front garden. Kitchen clean & cute toilet roll display in bathroom. Comfortable bed with lovely smelling sheets. A home from home. Would want to stay again but ..

I have a small car & over-hung the driveway by a couple of inches. Was concerned the whole stay that I might still get a ticket (permit parking area). Owner needs to raise the garage door so cars can fit on driveway ?? Didn’t realise that
Garden is to the front only, so my dog was concerned by every passer-by. Also, no corkscrew.

Top marks for the hosts, cleanliness, value, and - most of all - location. Pubs, pharmacy, corner stores were all so close you could walk there fresh from the shower clad in only a bath towel. We'll test this theory next time though. Same goes for the Chinese takeaway that's almost nextdoor (pork chow mein was fab). Sainsburys was a bit further but only 10-15 mins each way, and it's the size of a football pitch inside so worth the walk if you need something specific.

The neighbourhood was very mixed age and very friendly, locals all seemed cheerful and approachable, and the two parks nearby were lovely to sprawl in with an evening beer in the sunshine. Dog owners picked up their poo. Check out the quiz night at the Coach & Horses too - trying to throw darts in the bonus round after a couple of shots that looked suspiciously like calamine lotion would likely pucker the sphincter of an insurance adjuster but the landlady and locals were equal parts hospitable and entertaining. Nobody was inadvertently blinded or skewered, and we finished in second place one of the two times we attended.

Marks & Spencer, the Norwich Theatre Royal, and Chapelfield Gardens weren't much further away, which was critical for mid-morning trips to eat our own bodyweight at Cafe 33 in the Park. Food and service are brilliant there, and loads of playground equipment to keep kids amused. We caught a music soiree one afternoon at the bandstand too.

Cottage itself was cute, clean, and moderately well appointed. The TV survived us hurling abuse at the refs for the whole Euros 2024 (except the England matches - those were all in local pubs) and I guess the walls were thick enough that the neighbours didn't think someone was filming a reboot of "The Exorcist".

We'd use this property again, and would try out any others from the same hosts.

It's not the most well-equipped place we've stayed at.

Only one pint glass for the whole house and teeny coffee mugs meant we splashed out on one of Norwich's charity shops (the dizzy heights!) to supplement the glassware and the tea towels. Saucepans and frying pans were a little worse for wear too, and the lounge rug/carpet could probably use an annual stain removal. The bathroom is one of those small ones that gets steamy fast, and the lack of a full-size shower curtain/screen means that unless you're Warwick Davis with scleroderma you can expect even the loo seat to be dripping with water by the time you're done washing your hair. It was summer when we stayed so the bathroom window was open a lot, which meant we couldn't have the light on at night time or every neighbourhood moth and daddy-long-legs would be staking a claim to the entire wall space by morning. Opening the bathroom door to help the place dry out set off the smoke alarm on the landing ceiling.

But these were only tiny things - we'd say the experience was over 90% good.

Be warned: rubbish and recycling are on a two-week rota, and they come early Thursday morning so if you miss it the bins can fill up fast.
