This property is centrally located in Rottingdean and very convenient for shops, pubs, beach and transport. The beach is nice and it's a very pleasant walk to Saltdean Lido/along the coast. We also travelled (easily) by public transport to both Lewes and Eastbourne. However, this means that Rottingdean, including the High St off which the property is situated is very busy traffic-wise. The property is immediately adjacent to a pub garden, which has and observes a 10pm curfew but also has a BBQ - so if you're visiting in summer and don't like to much noise etc, be aware. In any case, the outside space was not tempting - needed a good clean or a sweep. The property would be a squeeze for 4 adults and there's no dining table. There were a few maintenance issues which we'll mention privately - nothing major, but in general, the property could do with a bit of love. Even so, the area is great, locals are friendly.

The cottage was cosy and very comfortable. We know Brighton well as we visit friends and family and Rottingdean is our favourite spot which is only 15 minutes from the city and the village has lots of pubs, cafes, shops and a lovely part of the beach which is not crowded and if you have the opportunity great for paddle boards. We would definitely come back to stay at the property.

The mews cottage was very clean and the furnishings were of a good standard. For 4 adults it is a bit tight. The fact the it overlooked a beer garden means it is noisy at times, especially on BBQ/DJ nights. Parking poses problems, both specific to the cottage and the Rottingdean area itself. While close to a main road there is the benefit of some very useful shops and walking access to the beach.

awesome place to stay with family or freinds. beach is just 5 mins walk and local pubs n store have good food n drink. It is quite village with lovely walkable streets and houses to see. excellent stay and host were very helpful in all requests made. Brighton is just 12 mins drive and all food and delicacies can be ordered on deliveroo. One of the best stay so far 😍

This was a lovely place to stay but the photos make the air BnB look bigger than what it is. Another problem we had was that the garden was right outside a beer garden and it was very noisy when we tried to get to sleep.

This is a beautiful apartment and very well-appointed. My mum and I found it comfortable and allowed us a great base to trip to Brighton and Lewes. We have made a couple of suggestions to the host with regard to updating the mattresses which were lumpy and quite uncomfortable after a few nights. We also suggested a couple of extra mirrors in the bedrooms. Our greatest issue was that the heating and hot water were working intimitantly, while the host was very responsive and did get it fixed on the fourth day of our five day stay it was very inconvenient and despite requesting some compensation we have received no response and no apology. It disappointed us given everything else was so good.

A last minute 3 night weekend getaway with our teenage boys and was worried about getting in as we arrived later than anticipated, we had no problems accessing the safe box & the self-check in was convenient. Fantastic location, really peaceful and quiet (despite the pub next door) we only heard a little chatter when we opened the french doors during the day. Plenty parking in the nearby streets. Would definitely visit again, the townhouse is light & bright with high ceilings giving it a spacious yet cosy feel, with a fully equipped kitchen. the only reason I've removed a star is I found the cleaning charge excessive as it was slightly more than a night's stay and on top of that we were asked to clear out the bins when leaving, which is not an issue in itself if it wasn't for the high cleaning fee... other than that my family would gladly visit again.

Positioned just a stones throw away from Brighton in a really picturesque village. The accommodation is a good size, very modern with a fab kitchen and breakfast bar. Comfort wise though, it requires some investment. The sofa in the lounge was not the most comfortable for an evening relaxing and could do with a clean (sofa bed). The patio doors were an absolute nightmare to open and then you couldn’t properly close them and the mattresses in both bedrooms (my biggest gripe) really need renewing. You literally just sank where other people had been lying in them. Even my 9 year old made a comment. The wall at the back of the bed in the main bedroom had speckled stains all up it, and the protective cover for the mattress in our room was stained. There were a lot of little fixes needed too, rickety wardrobe, wobbly side table in the lounge. The upkeep could be better in my opinion, but with little fixes, it has the potential to be great.

Lovely house, on a terrace, and very close to the pub next door. The house backs on to the pub garden, so there is a little noise until the pub shuts. House was spotless and perfect for a short stay. Easy transport to Brighton.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Stunning house, beautifully decorated and immaculately kept (apart from a few cobwebs!) with so many well thought through touches. Also perfect location for us near the family we were visiting. Parking was only a pain for unload and pack up, as we could park at my sister’s home. Be good if there was a lock up or something to store bikes/scooters as the car wasn’t just outside. Our only regret was the huge cleaning cost which made what would have been a very reasonable two night stay a lot more expensive. It is a flat rate but could perhaps be adjusted for shorter stays?

The house is nicely done, clean and well maintained but immediately backs on to a pub beer garden, where you can clearly hear people outside. It is a large beer garden so in the summer I can only imagine this will be extremely noisy. Noise could be heard from the adjoining house in both bedrooms, loud music, TV etc.

Nice little house in the centre of Rottingdean. The bedrooms are a little smaller than expected, not helped by very wide bed frames. Parking was 100m or so along the road, so quite convenient. The house was clean and tidy and warmed up quickly on a windy, stormy weekend. A few more cups and glasses would have been handy as we had to keep washing up and there was no bottle opener or oven gloves which was a bit strange. Very handy for exploring the local area and good nearby transport to Brighton and Eastbourne.

We had a wonderful week in Rottingdean. The house exactly matches the descriptions in the advertisement. Walk the day on the coast, on the way to the house a cozy pint in the "Old Place" , the pub next to the property, drink and then spend a cozy evening in front of the fireplace. This is vacation. So all around: I'd love to come back anytime!

We really enjoy our stay at the cottage . We had everything we needed. The place is very cute and furnished nicely with comfortable beds and sofa bed. The village of Rottingdean had lots of nice little places to eat and some grocery stores. We had some nice weather and could walk to the beach. We would definitely book again.

Internally it was a clean, compact little house as described. But it was difficult to get into the house with the two locks, one looking as if it wasn’t in use it was so rusty. There were weeds growing on the doorstep and the windows were filthy which made us think we were at the wrong house. The water never got hot enough to have a decent shower or bath. Also the ironing board was broken when we attempted to use it.

Beautiful and comfortable, clean and peaceful - the only reservation I have is that there were a few cooking utensils missing that would have made cooking easier. Take your own cheese grater, spatula, tongues and serving spoons (just an example). Also, parking not easy. One day we had to move the car three times due to parking restrictions. But, other than that we had a lovely stay.

Fantastic location within close proximity to a range of amenities (a convenience store, a mini-supermarket, a bakery, a butcher, etc.). Nestled in a tranquil mews with minimal car passages, the house itself exudes cleanliness, boasting a pristine atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. Every corner has been thoughtfully arranged, resulting in a functional and well-equipped space that caters to your every need. The house is designed to accommodate guests seeking a quick escape or those desiring a longer, more leisurely stay. Excellent bus connections to visit Brighton.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rottingdean, and despite having a rental car, found it easier (and cheaper!) to use the buses to get around. The bus service along the coast is very good, and car parking in Brighton is quite expensive. The only negative is that car parking in Rottingdean is limited, and we had to park several minutes walk away from the cottage. Not a huge deal though. Overall, a very good experience. Thanks.

We stayed here for three weeks with our two young children and absolutely loved it. Great location with plenty of free street parking. We didn’t pay for parking once during our stay. Ample room for our kids to move around and great facilities for cooking meals at home and washing clothes. Our concerns about the pub next door creating noise were unfounded as it was closed throughout our stay. Host was also very easy to deal with. All in all a 10 out of 10 experience. We will definitely be staying again.

We had a lovely time staying on Olde Place Mews for a month! Rottingdean is a lovely village & the cottage was comfortable. The only thing I would change is the 2nd bedroom didn’t have a storage or a tv. The little garden was lovely, especially as the pub next door was closed for the duration of our stay so it was nice & quiet with bird song every morning. Best, KIT.

Very convenient location and super communicative hosts. Would recommend for a weekend away if you are looking to go somewhere low-key, and near the sea. Parking is v easy and there are all the amenities you need in town! However, I would note that: 1) there are not 3 bedrooms + common space as it states on the listing, there are 2 and the final sofa bed is in the only common space (this is wrong on the ad); 2) the neighbours (not the pub, which seems to be closed) are very noisy and up quite late (on the Saturday night of my stay they were up past 1am); 3) the house is not cleaned to the standard of the cleaning fee and that was actually quite disappointing, i.e. the smaller bedroom was covered in hair and dust, and the carpets looked as though they hadn't been cleaned at all, there were also cobwebs over the lights in the kitchen; and 4) the water temperature was basically lukewarm which meant we took quite cold showers - probably fine in the summer but not when it's winter!

Amazing stay, the location was beautiful and the bnb and hosts were great! It was definitely small so would not recommend for anymore than 4 people as there are only 2 bedrooms & 1 bathroom, the downstairs toilet was tiny. We did have some trouble with the boiler & dishwasher though could have been user error, although when we got there a few pans were dirty so don’t think the dishwasher is very good. You could faintly hear neighbours on both sides however it was not a problem for us as simply talking or turning on the tv would mean that we could not hear them. Hosts were incredibly helpful and quick at replying! Could not have asked for much more from them. Parking was a struggle as expected, although we did manage to get parked around 100m away everyday so not really a problem. There is definitely a lack of kitchen utensils and tableware especially for 4 people but can make it work. Very comfortable mattresses Overall it was a great stay and the house itself is very cosy.

Our stay in Rottingdean was absolutely wonderful. The place was cozy and well-appointed. It was very easy to get in an out of Brighton on the bus that was just a short walk from the place. We took cabs to and from the station and they were fairly quick and inexpensive. We had a few issues to sort out when we checked in and the Airhost For You Team was extremely helpful Rottingdean itself is lovely and has everything you need for a very short stay - pub right around the corner, cafe, restaurants and of course the lovely sea front! The property does back up onto the pub garden for the pub around the corner - we were there on New Year's Eve and did not find it too loud at all. A little gem! Book it!

We enjoyed our stay at The Mews cottage. Plus points were the nice log burner, large fridge, and plenty of towels . A pretty little Christmas tree and welcome bottle of fizz were nice extras for our Christmas stay. If you’re not planning on eating in much it should be fine- crockery and cutlery was minimal and just 1 tea towel. Worth noting that if you’re not that mobile or bigger than average, you’ll struggle with the low beds and tiny downstairs loo There was a bit of noise late at night from the bar next door. Parking was a lottery but mostly managed to find a space a few minutes walk away. Communication with the host team was excellent, before during and after our stay.

Beautiful place, great location near to shops and beach. Very clean and tidy and comfortable. Gorgeous log fire to snuggle up with. Was an ok size for us (2 adults and 2 kids) but anymore and it would be a bit of a squeeze (advertises as sleeping up to 6, which includes 2 on a sofa bed in the lounge). Only negative is that the kitchen needed a few more stock items as we had to go and get some things we needed for cooking meals. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and ended up extending it because we were so comfy there.

It's a great location we used bus to get into Brighton, £5.60 day saver with regular buses much simpler than trying to park. Rottingdean has a good choice of pubs. However if you are looking for calm this place is not for you. It's a very busy through road and you hear it from the cottage. The property backs on to a pub garden, and I think this should be disclosed in the details. There was an event on the Saturday night and it was extremely noisy between 11am and midnight when people left the event. The noise insulation with the neighbour is also poor and they like to watch TV in bed till after midnight. I'd also not recommend for older guests as my brother 78 struggled with the bar stools and stairs, even though he is quite fit. If your young and staying up late it's a great spot.

A lovely stay in a lovely place. Everything we needed to make it a home away from home (apart from a hairdryer). We'd happily return. Do be aware that the property is right next to a pub garden but its not a problem and the pub closes the garden at 9pm and its quiet. What isn't so quiet is the neighbours who seem to like watching films late at night - you can hear them talking and every twist and turn of the B-list movies. The host asks guests to read and re-read the rules including being respectful to the neighbours which makes sense but its a shame the courtesy isn't returned.

Lovely cottage in a great location, near to all amenities that Rottingdean had to offer. Added advantage of having a downstairs cloakroom. Looks as it does in the pictures online. Buses run along the coast every ten minutes so surrounding areas/resorts easily accessible. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Brighton but near enough to access for all it had to offer.

Spent a lovely short stay at Cosy Mews, Rottingdean. The cottage was clean, bright and fully equipped for our visit (very comfortable beds). Good to have a dishwasher to keep our chores to a minimum (washing machine also available).TV, books and cards available if you have a spare moment. Location was quiet, even with pub next door (seems Beer Gardens need to be cleared by 10pm). Our host was quick to respond to any questions we had and stayed in contact to ensure we were comfortable and not wanting for anything. Good communication prior to arrival. Location is great for Brighton and surroundings. Rottingdean is a great little village, with plenty of history and local artisan crafts. The tranquil Kipling Gardens and The Grange Museum are only a few minutes walk from the cottage, as is the beach. When we visit Brighton again we will certainly be looking at the Mews Cottage again. Thanks.

What a fabulous find in a beautiful little village! The cottage was very clean and bright, the beds were really comfortable and the property had everything you need home from home including a dishwasher. The host was brilliant at communicating prior to arrival and quick to reply when we had a query once there. The village itself is steeped in history, with lots of pubs and places to eat, it is very close to the sea and has a windmill at the top of the hill that you can visit. We will definitely return.

A lovely light-filled apartment with gorgeous decor, cosy atmosphere and plenty of space for your group to cosy up and watch a film or have a little dinner party - bonus for the lovely bathroom and extra comfy beds! The hosts were really attentive, communicative and also so accomodating especially when it came to check in/out! The apartment is right next to the wonderful rottingdean pub the atmosphere in there was so nice and the staff super friendly. This is an ideal location if youre looking for a coastal/seaside getaway as the apartment is a mere 5 minute straight walk to the sea but also walking distance to local attractions (the town gardens, art gallery, nature reserve, windmill etc). As you walk towards the beach there are some lovely antique and art stores, artisan bakeries, cafes and ice-cream parlour and places to eat. You can also walk along the beach all the way to Brighton Marina or take a scenic 15 minute bus journey to the heart of Brighton. Also really loved how the property was tucked away adding to that cosy, safe feeling.

Great apartment just minutes down the road from the beach. The hosts were super attentive and addressed all of our needs quickly and efficiently. It should be noted that the little garden space is essentially part of the beer garden next door — we didn’t have any issues but just FYI! Regardless it was nice to have that outdoor space. All around great stay!

Beautifully decorated home, perfect location for beach and village. Busses & bike route to town also very convenient. (For people who want to cook family meals, perhaps take large serving bowls & pans!)

Stayed for 2 nights during family holiday trip. Our original trip plan was staying in Brighton, but we ended up finding a place in Rottingdean which is about 20-30min away by bus. Our family loved Rottingdean and the place eventually. Especially my 3 years old daughter loved the little garden and the stars. If you want more quite and peaceful beach, I strongly recommend to visit Rottingdean. The location of this place was also perfect. You can get to Rottingdean beach in 5 min by walking and ther is stores including Tesco express nearby, so no need to bring any food. The place has nicely decorated and cleaned. The check in/out was very easy. We would love to re-visit the place when we have a chance later. One small thing is that you may hear neighbor’s noise and talking through the wall. On our first night, the neighbor was playing a music loudly until late night. Our second night was better. Other than that, everything was great!

Lovely cottage, beautifully refurbished to a very high standard. Excellent location in Rottingdean, so close to lovely pub, bakery and cafe - plus a short stroll to the beach! Easy drive to Brighton marina and then onto Brighton for shops, pier and tons of places to eat and drink. Superb customer service from hosts, questions answered quickly and helpfully. Would definitely stay here again!

Cosy, comfortable & clean accommodation, close to amenities & the sea front. Had a wonderful few days & looked forward to getting back at the end of the day to cook up a meal, chill & sip a glass of wine. Would definitely go back again!
