INSIDE:You'll love the spacious and bright interior with floor to ceiling windows, allowing for stunning views of the surrounding nature. And for the kids, there's a fun and playful loft area that's sure to keep them entertained. Join them in the loft in the evening for a cozy movie night in front of the large Smart TV.

Step outside and breathe in the fresh air! This brand new cottage is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. Here are just a few of the outdoor highlights: a spacious deck to soak up the sun, a cozy firepit for evening gatherings, and a comfortable outdoor living room to relax and take in the sights and sounds. Don't forget to fire up the propane BBQ for a delicious meal at the iron dining table. And for those chillier nights, head to the screened porch with heated floors for a warm and inviting dining experience. Plus, you'll enjoy the privacy of this lot, which backs onto a protected forested area in the charming village.
And now, the star of the space — a brand-new sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the surrounding nature and treed backyard. It’s the perfect place to warm up, unwind, and enjoy peaceful views in every season.
NOTE: Lake access is a few minutes walk on Tuyll street. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.
Other things to note
All Guests are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. A separate security deposit of $500 is required. Max occupancy at all times is 8 (6 Adults), violation will result in removal without refund.Max 1 well behaved dog is allowed but must sign separate pet addendum
Parking is limited to 3 vehicles
Linens are available for $20/per person. This includes Tea Towels, Dishcloths, Sheets & Pillowcases, Bathroom towels, Hand towels and Face cloths. Does not include Beach Towels.
Our Winter Weather Cancellation Policy is designed with your safety in mind. If winter conditions make travel unsafe or if there are road closures preventing you from reaching the cottage, you have flexible options:
❄ Delay Your Arrival – If the cottage is available, you can shift your stay by a day or two.
❄ Reschedule – Move your booking to a future date that works for you.
❄ Full Refund – If rescheduling isn’t possible, you can cancel for a full refund.

What a stunningly lovely house this is and what an incredible experience we had here! The place is beautiful and thoughtfully appointed. We have a policy when we travel of always leaving any accommodation better off when we leave that it was when we arrived. This time, it’s impossible as the place is already PERFECT! We love it, our dog loved it, and we’ll be back, again and again and again… Our only complaint is that we can’t offer the place a rating higher than 10/10! :)

The cottage itself and setting is truly beautiful. It was spacious and well organized. The peaceful and beautiful trees and the wildlife that surrounded the cottage were wonderful. The check in and check our times were very inconvenient. I have worked in this industry for over 15 years and this is the latest check in and earliest check out I’ve ever come across. The host was able to accommodate a later check in ( to industry standard) but I never heard back regarding the earlier check in. Response from the host was typically ‘ I’ll let you know’ which is both vague and unhelpful. I travelled with a small child and a person who recently had surgery- so to travel a few hours then explain to them they can’t even go to the cottage to settle or rest until 4pm really doesn’t start things off in the best way. Especially given the price. I understood we had to wait so long so that the cottage could he cleaned to the highest standard- but unfortunately it was not.

Poplar Woods is a lovely home in the Bayfield area. We really enjoyed its close proximity to the heart of town and the sunsets can’t be beat. The house is well stocked, clean and as advertised in terms of space. The walkable beach is very rocky and difficult to access-we were not able to use this with our small kids. We had a few glitches with some appliances, but Jennifer was very prompt to try to solve the problems. Overall a perfect space for a nice getaway on Lake Huron!
