This beautifully decorated subdivided home in the heart of La Lucia is perfect for a family holiday. Central to Durban, Umhlanga, and Gateway shopping Centre. Umdloti, Westbrook and Ballito offering stunning swimming beaches and activities no further than 30km away. La Lucia Mall, Virgin Active and Paddle a few minutes away.
Young children will love the jungle gyms but parental supervision always advised. (Its normally run as a school but is closed at this time )
23 min from King Shaka Airport.
The space
This is a secure sub-divided home, you have sole use of your dedicated side.
All rooms are tastefully and beautifully decorated, with a well fitted scullery and kitchen to make your stay so comfortable.
Outside is a undercover patio with lighting and a fan.
A Weber BBQ is available too.
The wild bunnies in the area visit the home for their daily carrots so keep some on hand for your late afternoon walks around the secure neighborhood.
Guest access
You have full exclusive use of your dedicated side of the house. There are long term tenants in the other unit.
You share the parking entrance and your children may play on the playground.
Other things to note
This is a subdivided property, you have 2 bedrooms and a garden exclusively for your use. You do share a driveway. There is a sleeper couch upstairs which can be used as a third bed.
This is a NO Smoking/Vaping/Hubbly Bubbly Unit and this rule must be adhered to inside and in the garden.
As its usually run as a nursery school, the Jungle Gyms and play area is open for your children to use, however Parental supervision is a must.
As this is a shared property and you are living in close proximity to your neighbors Noise levels must be kept to a decent volume with quite hours between 9pm and 9am.
Please note there is a desk in the bedroom downstairs but the computer will not be available for use.

A comfortable and tastefully furnished home with all conveniences considered. Kerry is super easy to contact and responsive. Lovely to have breakfast in the garden overlooking the lush hills, or a sundowner on the balcony with a sea view. Conveniently located with La Lucia Mall and Glenashley Beach (where locals walk their dogs) down the road. Peacefully away from the uMhlanga traffic whists a short 5 min drive away.

Exceptional stay at Ambleside! From booking to check-in, communication was great. We were warmly welcomed with some goodies - a lovely touch! This beautiful home truly feels like a home away from home. The decor is impeccable and it is very clean and neat. The kitchen (my favourite place) is fully equipped with everything needed and squeaky clean. The area is safe and great for morning and afternoon walks. Lovely sea views. Really central to everything Durban. Our stay was absolutely amazing - we only wish we had more time! Kerry and Leo are truly super hosts. Highly recommend Ambleside for a memorable stay.

    Please love this place like we do, Look after it like your own. Please strictly adhere to the Rules, provided here and in the unit in the House Rules Guide . This unit is not suitable for parties of any kind. It has been rented out for the sole purpose of families and friends to quietly enjoy a relaxing holiday. We want you to have a good time but as neighbours you are in close proximity to others, noise levels are to be kept to a minimum between 9pm and 9am and must be strictly adhered to. NO LOUD MUSIC IS PERMITTED AT ANY TIME. Should any complaints be made, first warning is R5000 and if need be, we will have you removed by Security, and you will be reported to Airbnb. No add-on guests, maximum of 5 patrons only. (One bed is a sleeper couch upstairs on the landing) If you have booked and paid for up to only 5 guests, no extra guests are allowed to sleep over. No day visitors unless prior arrangement is made with host. Monkeys are a problem, so please be aware and keep food and personal items packed away, even closing doors and windows if need be. There are monkey screens for better prevention. No Smoking, Vaping, Hubbly-Bubblys or any recreational drugs allowed, inside or outside. Bedrooms are comfortable. We love our furniture and furnishings, as we know you will love them too, please, no furnishings intended for inside to be used for outside. Please don’t drop cushions or throws on the floor. Should any soft furnishings i.e. blankets, décor, be ruined by makeup or hair dye, etc, go missing or be damaged, we will recharge to you, the guest. This includes if unit is left dirty due to excessive revelries. Children to be accompanied by an adult at all times in public areas such as the jungle gyms. After being at the beach, please rinse beach sand off before entering the house. Taxi, mini buses or buses are NOT permitted entry unfortunately. Key and remote loss/damage will be charged to you if not found. This will include locksmith costs. And lastly....Yes also a COMPULSORY RULE: Have a chilled, happy relaxing holiday and come visit us again!

Property Manager Terms

  • For a full refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email).
  • For a 50% refund of the nightly rate, the guest must cancel 7 full days before the listing's local check-in time (shown in the confirmation email), otherwise no refund will be given. If only 50% of the reservation has been paid, no refund will be issued and the remaining 50% will simply not be charged.
  • If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent are not refunded.
  • Cleaning fees are always refunded if the reservation is cancelled before check-in.
  • Accommodation fees (the total nightly rate you’re charged) are refundable in certain circumstances as outlined below.
  • A reservation is officially cancelled when the guest clicks the cancellation button on the cancellation confirmation page, which they can find in Dashboard > Your Trips > Change or Cancel.
